The last congregation I was in was a singles branch. I was the branch clerk there for a couple of years. Every sunday, I'd count the number of those in attendance. The ratio of men to women was astounding to me at the time. There were 5 to 10 young women on average vs. about 40 young men. Most of the young men had resigned themselves to the fact that they weren't going to find anyone there. And, of the young women, we did have only 2 of them that i was aware even wanted to date. Now, I'm not saying the women were at fault. It was a college branch, and many of us worked, went to school, or both. So, many of us guys dated either outside the branch but still dated lds women, or we just said "the heck with it" and dated non mormons.
