...gave me goosebumps and it's 40°C today. I rebuilt a '54 XK120 in 1963, body off, complete engine rebuild and so on. I was 18 years old. Jaguar has been in my blood ever since (I'm now 70+). These videos are priceless. Thank you so much.
If making 'ads' for auctions gets your channel access to stunning cars to film such as this one then I hope for more of them. Another great car, another great free video to watch.
+ginge82 Yeah I don't see anything wrong with it, Chris Harris, Evo and other magazines have done it, often times these auction cars are the best possible example anyway.
I love how the older cars give you so much information as you drive them. Manufacturers are now taking away that information by making everything digital and or drive by wire, brake by wire and, steer by wire. What a pity the newer generation will never experience what that feels like.
Couldn't agree more. Dumped a teardrop 300ZX in favor of a new Camaro RS years ago. The Nissan was a techno-marvel at the time but NO fun to drive. The Chevy is (still) a 200-horsepower go-cart with =road sense=.
I've Been Diapered in Old Jags learned how to work on was 14 years old my father taught me as he was Accomplished Jag Mechanic he had 54XK120m 62XK150s 63Etype. The Beauty of those Engines along Mechanical and Exhaust Sound is Mind Blowing so Unique as a Master Mechanic Im Truly Blessed to Experience Jaguars Masterpieces Intoxicating Enjoyment to Drive. Nothing like Old Jaguars XK DOHC 6 cylinders Engines are Legendary. Visual Beauty Old Jaguars and Exhaust Sound You'll never Forget. I can tune those Engines practically blindfolded.
Period plates. God I love it when they let you do that. Coming from a country where there aren't even vanity plates, it just makes SO much sense and I really appreciate it!
I loved the shape of the "C" type so much; in 1993 I started tooling up a body to make a "Kit Car" version of this lovely automobile. I got cold feet when there didn't seem to be much interest from buyers; everyone wanted a Cobra replica at the time.
Mr. Johnson The good news is other people have taken all the risk and there are some excellent replicas to be bought these days. With only 53 original 'C' types being made, the high-end replicas are expensive but they are real quality and a lot less money than buying an original. :)
David Swig makes no mention of the man who designed a new body for the 120 to make the C type, Malcom Sayor. His gorgeous new body work was worth an extra 25 mph at Le Mans with the same drive-train. Sayor famously went on to design the D, E & XJS.
Lucky bastard! ***** YOU ARE ART! i love you guys. i usually don't cry watching car videos but you...YOU TOOK IT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL of quietness,love,passion...this is what we want THANK YOU.
Had a friend, Pappy Syler who drove his C-type to races, unloaded his spares and jack, raced it, then drove it home to dinner returning for Sunday's races. Nelson Ledges Race Course near Warren, Ohio in the late 1960's was the scene of Pappy's green C-Thpe's success. Pappy was still doing track days at Nelson, in a Mitsubshi EVO at age 87 a few years ago. My Hero!
I watched Tom Curren run his 120 historic racer. This man knew how to brake free the tires' traction and swing this machine around the corners in the perfect slide. Forget the high tech! It's the fun that counts.
LOVED the C-type. Watched the great Stirling Moss drive this car (or a near twin to it) at the very first Palm Springs Vintage Grand Prix in (I believe) 1987. Shot a photo of him and two-time Indy winner Rodger Ward chewing the fat in the pits. Now blessed to own a 2003 Type-S saloon with the very same grille.
These are like the Hurricanes and Spitfires a class act that's hard to beat. I've always wanted a Jag but something has always stood between us. Maybe some day I'll have one.
The C type was my favorite! when I was a foreman on the Jag line in Cleveland, I got to talk to a young Jag engineer. I told him my idea for a modern take on the C type. they made the new jag out of it to have room for golf clubs!? Not in my book...
Simply sublime Jaguar c type ecurie ecosse that raced at LeMans so what if this is an add for a auction house Hey Petrolicious this is excellent work I'll take this anyday over the architectural sermon given a couple of weeks ago beautiful car god bless
Love the c type I'm looking after xkc004 and it's another one of the cars fitted with discs beautiful to drive piece of art and the sound of the exhaust when you have straight pipes fitted it's something out of this world just like the car in period
Absolutely not! To preserve it and truly appreciate what this car was it needs to be driven. Paintings belong in museums but most cars need to be run and are much more at home on a track at a Historic Festival.
The rail is a reinforcement because the lightweight body was so thin. And they used that 'rail' to mount a light to show the number of the car during the night of Le Mans
From Matthew Sneddon In the April 1960 copy of 'Motor Sport' the London motor dealer 'The Chequered Flag' had two Jaguar C types for sale. One ex Ecurie Ecosse with D type modifications finished in BRG with Webers + weather equipment at £965 also other C Type in Italian red at £845. What prices !! I wonder if the C type featured was one of those.
One wonders if these sequences are the last time in a long time that this car is driven in such a spirited manner. Regardless of the Sotherby's plug it is a sublime sound and vision experience. The best Petrolicious vid in some time. Oh and Chevy Impalas with air ride and chrome rims could never be driven tastefullly.
I prefer the videos featuring the car & owner, I like the human element as much as the car, but no complaints, here we get to see a great car that we probably wouldn't see otherwise, and I am sure it helps keep petrolicious rolling, so all good.
***** , where do you guys get all of your soundtracks from? 99% of the time at the end of the video I get distracted trying to figure out what's being played so I can replicate it on my own LOL
I love Petrolicious because the focus is normally on the emotion and passion a car brings to it's owner. It's not just about the car. That passion is something every car lover connects to even if the car is one of those rare ones you will never own. This video (although good attempt) does not reach that level for me.
Following "WittyDroog's" comments, I also sold some really nice automobiles a few years ago, starting my sales experience in a Ferrari dealership. Just because I wasn't able to own such a car didn't diminish the fact that I studied and followed European racing while I attended school in Germany through the early '60s, thanks to my fathers German assignment in the US Army. When the opportunity arrived to work in the midst of some phenomenal automotive artwork and actually have someone toss the keys to me to get acquainted with the product I was to sell, I was nearly overwhelmed!! Just the fact that the commentator doesn't happen to be the owner, doesn't necessarily diminish his (or her) appreciation of the privilege of driving this car! I may not have had the financial investment in the vehicle, but I most certainly had the appreciation and the emotional investment in a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the likes of Ferrari 330LMB, a Ferrari BB512 or a Ferrari 512TR or even the more common 308s and 348s. An average car enthusiast such as I doesn't get that kind of opportunity where I came from...
@eSysman - British please note in American Webster's dictionary it is pronounced 2 ways (correctly) American - Jag-war, British - Jag-u-ar. Both are correct pronunciations. That's true for the Oxford dictionary pronunciations too! Stop trying to convince the rest of the world that the British pronunciation is the only correct one.

+88thetruth88 I have no idea. I lived in the States then and moved to Europe a few years later. It got "lost."

Another great car, another great free video to watch.
I agree entirely you still get to see beautiful car that you wouldn't get to normally
ginge82 Agreed, Those who have a problem with it can watch something else. We really liked this video!
+ginge82 Yeah I don't see anything wrong with it, Chris Harris, Evo and other magazines have done it, often times these auction cars are the best possible example anyway.
Seeing a Le Mans racer from this generation feels like going back in time to relive a moment with a lover. So sweet. So moving.
@darrelltuttle8298 - I would imagine older aircraft pilots would feel the same way!
The car that I can never have but there are some terrific 'repo's' out there that will still keep my dream alive.
I've Been Diapered in Old Jags learned how to work on was 14 years old my father taught me as he was Accomplished Jag Mechanic he had 54XK120m 62XK150s 63Etype. Thanks a great vid. Fantastic sound. It is just wonderful to see and hear these highly valued classics on the road.
What a history. What a sound. What a shape. Sensational Jaguar.
Period plates. God I love it when they let you do that. Coming from a country where there aren't even vanity plates, it just makes SO much sense and I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the visuals, commentary and the sound.
One more goose bump video from Petrolicious!
Thank you!

That's a beauty....I've owned a 1956 Jaguar 140 MC for 3 years- fantastic cars...
Where are these driving roads? Not only a gorgeous car, but phenomenal driving roads.
Somewhere in Oregon I think. Maybe the coast range.
thats pretty amazing to be able to own and drive a car with such an incredible history.
What a gorgeous automobile! It was way ahead of it's time!
Lucky bastard! ***** YOU ARE ART! i love you guys. i usually don't cry watching car videos but you...YOU TOOK IT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL of quietness,love,passion...this is what we want THANK YOU.
Stunning. Stunning. Stunning.
Perfeft accompanying music too.
Absolutely beautiful car with perfect scenery to match.
Beautiful presentation, still drooling.
the exhaust note is delicious
Wow.. such a beauty, proper sound, proper looks, proper car
That engine noise
Gave me goose bumps 🤣
Beautuful

love the end soundtrack!

He's wearing the proper hat!!!! Amazing video, as always
What a beauty!
Petrolicious has the best cinematography ever! A+++++ keep up the good work!
The best ( looking and sounding) and the most appealing car
Ever. in my opinion
Very interesting except for the unnecessary - distracting - loud music.
Love the Original engine on the tach. I live in Oregon maybe, hopefully ill see it one day.
Perfect!
(I also would love to work for RM Auctions...)
They are not a jagwar, they are a Jaguar
Just beautiful, great video!
Another fantastic video .... was this shot in Oregon ... where abouts was it filmed ?
Rarer still is the majestic beauty of the C type. It is the inflection point between the golden age and modern cars.
At last ! A car Video with no Crap Rock Music!
such sweet relief
These are like the Hurricanes and Spitfires a class act that's hard to beat. I've always wanted a Jag but something has always stood between us. Maybe some day I'll have one.
Awesome car, and an awesome video. Thank you.
Great vid as usual! Which road was that? Thanks.
The C type was my favorite! when I was a foreman on the Jag line in Cleveland, I got to talk to a young Jag engineer. I told him my idea for a modern take on the C type. they made the new jag out of it to have room for golf clubs!? Not in my book...
Great little car , thanks for sharing
el dinero no dara felicidad pero manejar una obra de arte como esta debe ser un lujo
The FS suffix on the registration plate denotes Edinburgh, Scotland. Yay!
Classy, delicious, elegant, just love it.
OK, this was awesome, and I officially hate David Swig for being allowed to drive this car. :)
Simply sublime Jaguar c type ecurie ecosse that raced at LeMans so what if this is an add for a auction house Hey Petrolicious this is excellent work I'll take this anyday over the architectural sermon given a couple of weeks ago beautiful car god bless
"so far ahead" *starts hitting it with a hammer*
Clarkson approves
Beautiful simply beautiful
Love the c type I'm looking after xkc004 and it's another one of the cars fitted with discs beautiful to drive piece of art and the sound of the exhaust when you have straight pipes fitted it's something out of this world just like the car in period
What a gorgeous car this is…luckily some of us have some scale models of these
I think a car like this belongs in a museum!!
Absolutely not! To preserve it and truly appreciate what this car was it needs to be driven. Paintings belong in museums but most cars need to be run and are much more at home on a track at a Historic Festival.
Just the sound of the engine and comentary no music please
what is the slider thing in the 'rail' on the boot?
The rail is a reinforcement because the lightweight body was so thin. And they used that 'rail' to mount a light to show the number of the car during the night of Le Mans
Best part of the car in my opinion is the ''Écurie Ecosse'' logo on the side.
Where was this shot? looks like oregon
From Matthew Sneddon

It’s JAG-U-AR !! For Gods sake !!
6 cylinder goose bumps!
where was this shot? southern oregon?
unadulterated jaguar straight six…. Wow! The Sound!
Enjoy the video. if you're doing auction cars, how about cover the McLaren F1 (#073) up for auction next month!?
I prefer the videos featuring the car & owner, I like the human element as much as the car, but no complaints, here we get to see a great car that we probably wouldn't see otherwise, and I am sure it helps keep petrolicious rolling, so all good.
Motoracing entertainment!! Loved it
***** , where do you guys get all of your soundtracks from? 99% of the time at the end of the video I get distracted trying to figure out what's being played so I can replicate it on my own LOL
Magnificent!
Nice car, good hustle on finding cars and making money doing it.
wow. How much would this sell for?
That is my Father's dream car.
Can anyone tell me the actual size of the sticker numbers that has to be used at le mans at that time ?!
"Jag-War"
what is the ending song of this vidéo ?
I love this car❤️👍
It's sacrificing a piece of soul to keep letting RM control your channel. The veil is becoming thinner, gents.
I love Petrolicious because the focus is normally on the emotion and passion a car brings to it's owner. It's not just about the car. That passion is something every car lover connects to even if the car is one of those rare ones you will never own. Unfortunately this car has been re-bodied 3 times since 1953
I would be worried if it hadn't.
I love jags grate cars
I think I've hit a nerve!
oregon plates :) Represent petrolicious!!!
Peter Gilbert They are British number plates (old style, from when the car was built).
Charlie Croker Looks like Oregon plates to me 1:05
lol they are as he's pulling it out of the trailer.... oregon love.
I wonder what part of Oregon they were at
lol me too it's a beautiful road
Americans please note it’s JagUar not JagWar. Otherwise great film.
Get over it, it could have been called a 'tomato'!
@eSysman - British please note in American Webster's dictionary it is pronounced 2 ways (correctly) American - Jag-war, British - Jag-u-ar. Both are correct pronunciations. That's true for the Oxford dictionary pronunciations too! Stop trying to convince the rest of the world that the British pronunciation is the only correct one.
so he is 16 ???? .anyway at last a video about the car and able to be going more then 35 mph ..YES great keep doing this
Nice...but while it may be "rarer than an XKSS" hands down I'd rather have an XKSS. Sometimes there are reasons more of something does not exist!
Did you notice the "original engine" sticker on the tach? :)
Yo Davey the next time you're in an open car turn your around and you won't have to worry about it blowing off..
+Petrolicious where are you based out of?
Omg i want one
I was tired and read the title as made for musalini 😂
You must have been tired since his name is spelled Mussolini!
me gusto arto ese auto de carreras apesar de ser para carreras es elegante
The best of the best
So Miss Petrolicious
They really slacked off with the music this time, good video nonetheless however.
Why does it matter how rare it is? Sure, if you are an Investor, that's important to know, but as an enthusiast, I don't care.
"Jagwahrr"
Jagwaa?
