- Putting to the test what many call the cheapest vitamin c serum in this Rohto Melano CC Brightening Vitamin C Cream Review.
Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where today I want to review the Rohto Melano CC Brightening Vitamin C Cream which people often call the cheapest vitamin c serum.
Vitamin C is a wonderful ingredient to include in your skincare routine. It brightens the skin, boosts collagen production and provides great antioxidant benefit all day long.
People often call the Melano CC Vitamin C serum the cheapest on the market but this isn't strictly true, there are other drugstore vitamin c serums which come with a lower price point.. However even if it isn't strictly the cheapest, lets put it to the test and see if its the best vitamin c serum for face and your skincare routine.
The pros are this genuinely worked, when it comes to my vitamin c before and after experience with this product I was impressed. My skin was brighter and it faded my acne marks and hyperpigmentation. I also love the packaging and the formulation which delays oxidation which means your vitamin c lasts longer.
The cons were the refusal of Rohto to say what the concentration of the vitamin c is in the formulation so you have no idea what your using on your skin. Its also a fragranced product which wont be a problem for all but is something to call out if your looking for fragrance free skincare routines.
I would love to know what your thoughts and feelings are when it comes to the melon cc vitamin c, so let me know in the comments below.
If you enjoyed this video then please consider giving it a thumbs up and a like to let me know.

Eventhough I agree with you re disclosure of the % of vitaC as well, but before you throw in the towel, thing about this. If you are getting better result and less irritation than from a product that discloses the %, does it really matter ?! In labs perhaps a 20% will perform more effectively than the 10%,but once it’s formulated with other ingredients and packaged, the result may show completely different results. For example, if a 20% is packaged in a dropper bottle, it maybe be less effective over time than a 10% like this Melano that is package without air. So I’d say let the result speak for itself and not get hung up on the %.
This is such a good point well made so thank you so so much for sharing.. love you xxxxxx
One of the best.
the main reason it's so good is because the container prevents air from going on so it comes out a drop at a time and doesn't oxidize.
I've had mine for a while and it's still clear as the day I bought it.
Did you store it in the refrigerators? Beacuse I live in varsity hall, I can't put it on the refrigerator but I want to try a vitamin c 🙂
@@bushrasayed6802 It doesn't need to be stored in a fridge but still doesn't oxidize for months. I haven't had one oxidize on me before I've finished it anyway.
@@SandraJohannehow much time does it take to fade acne marks?
use everyday?@@SandraJohanne
I ADORE this product. Its been an absolute game changer. I’ve been using it for almost four months, with about a months amount of product left, and it’s still perfectly clear. Its beginning to fade some of my most stubborn dark spots that alpha Arbutin and others couldn’t make a dent in. Plus, whenever I get a pimple, the resulting dark spot takes soooo much longer to come and it is so faint I’m not sure if it’s even there. I hope it’s never discontinued. Such a wonderful price and longevity too!
How do u use it? Do u use it toner or anything else?
You think there's a month left in it but it will last you another 2 months. 😂 I kept thinking my tube was nearly finished but weeks would go by and I'm still using it.
which one regular or premium
do you use it daily?
Is it suitable for oily skin?
It doesn't disclose the amount of vitamin c in the product but my skin has never looked so good since I started using this! The packaging is ideal too. I had it for about 7 months and it was still pretty much clear! (good for people who can't spend over £15 on a serum that has to be used within a few weeks)
This product has seriously been a game changer for me. I cannot live without it
What effects have u seen?
What cheaper alternatives do you like? I didn’t find it in description box
It's around $12 you should try
I love Melano CC and Japanese skincare products’
Wow, I will look into this!
This one is my staple! I haven't found anything that delivers as good as this one. I don't really look at %: if I see results, I'll stick to it through and through. Thank you for sharing, Rob!
What effects have u seen?
What are the other cheap alternatives? Haven't fount any description below
Where are the more affordable options mentioned at the end?
Thank you for the info... I was wondering about this product ive been using it under my sun screen
I hope its working well for you and sending you lots of love xx
@@MadAboutSkin I've only been using it about two weeks so far all I can really say it it doesn't beak me out
I have heard soooo many good reviews about this but shipping to Finland is still too much
Where are the links?
what are the cheaper options? and your favourite out of them!
Hi hun, sorry I will add them to the description box... I love the Aldi Lacura one the best which is £4.99 and the geek and gorgeous.. love you x
Does it gave better result than Geek and Gorgeous one?Do you ever use Image skincare? Whats your thoughts on it?
Hi hun, I think I will keep with the G&G one as they tell you the percentage which this brand dont though they both work in a similar way.. love you x
Coming in late on this video. Please which ones did you say are even cheaper. I honestly ran out of $
Oh this is all over the social media's.. Is it oil or water based.. Love your shorts content so much x
Hi hun, its oil based but super light.. love you x
I just received mine today so I’m excited. It does feel a bit oily, which kind of sucks because it’s gonna be summer, but I’m sure it’ll sink in.
Did u see any results?
Did u see any results? Should I get one
How to apply this on skin.. which gives first .. ? Snail muccin and then melano cc or first vit c ?? Pls help me
I've tried both orders. It really doesn't matter, just do what you prefer.
How do long this 20ml product go if i use it everyday?
I use this generously every morning (like 5-8) drops and it's lasted me 6 months. That's very impressive since its only 20ml (my smallest serum takes me the longest to finish 😂)
I heard it's 10% Ascorbic Acid. Not sure about the derivatives though. 😊
How do you know?
Can I use it for my eye dark circles
Yeah you can for sure. just patch test first x
The vitamin C essence gave me huge fungal acne all over my face after using 2 days😞😞
What is ur skin typw
🧡🐛
is this cruelty free?
@@francescaleoni7443 thank you for letting me know!
Hi hun, this is from a brand which in theory is BUT also sell into mainland china which mandates testing on cosmetics and skincare... the think which makes it more complicated is that China now have opt outs, many of which apply to Japanese brands like this one which means they dont have to test on animals.. I reached out to them and got a response similar to this so I would recommend everyone do their own research and then work out whether it fits with their values and stance.. sending you lots of love xx
@@MadAboutSkin thanks for this explanation! would love to see a vid of brands you reached out to post-china law change that have said their products are exempt now
