- Breeding Finches at your home aviary. Zebra Finches are good to setup for exotic bird breeding for several reasons. Zebra Finch sounds are very soothing. Caring for exotic birds such as cockatiels, lovebirds and finches are not that hard once you learn how to care for birds. My Grandma breeds cockatiels and I think her walk-in Aviary has about 45 cockatiels right now , she usually gives them as pets to relatives and now I have some cockatiels of my own, here at home that I’m breeding and this year i might build an aviary for my backyard outside where I can place more birds inside.
Right now I have about 6 in a large cage but I want more birds. My grandma has done this for years ever since I was a child growing up she’s always raised and bred cockatiels. so I was Lucky to have her knowledge of birds. She told me she will let me know when she can’t do it anymore and one day I’ll have to take over the breeding for her but right now she’s perfectly content and it keeps her busy.
My old dad used to breed zebra finches and many other bird species mainly norwich canary’s and European finches.
I had a couple of zebra finches as pets when i was about 9 so i love that little call they have.

Omg...Finally a youtube bird breeding channel that uses their brain! I used to (as a child) breed cockatiels and used cardboard boxes as nesting boxes. I am now thinking about going back into breeding exotic birds for profit but I needed some good advice. I've been looking on youtube for quite some time and finally came across a channel that has some common sense. Who wants to use a dingy poop-filled nest box that you pay fifteen dollars for, that would eventually lead to mites without proper scrubbing. Could you imagine cleaning 60 finch boxes? No thanks! Anyhow thank you for the great video, I definitely will think of Avicuculture when starting my new business venture!

Just subscribed to your channel because I am a begginer Breeder of Zibra Finches. I've only been doing this for about 5 years or so and at the moment I have 28 Zebras in three different mutations. I have all whites, mochas and original greys. Thanks for creating your channel and I hope you'll add mine. In the future I will be posting videos of my small breeding adventures.

@@yonggaotang2274 besides banding all my birds, I also separate all male and female babies while separating siblings too. It's kinda complicated but it has worked for me so far.

I've just build my finch aviary. I was wondering wether you could go through inside aviary setups? I've got bengalese, zebras and diamond doves.

Thank you for having more than a channel of pretty birds. I am looking to start a colony of zebra finches. Primarily, I am looking to sell the eggs to breeders of egg eating snakes because only the finch sized eggs work for them at birth. There are very few suppliers of these so I see a niche to fill. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't breed some for sale too.
