    Hi Brother Dexter, Iam Feroze Khan from India. I am your great fan 💗. Hope you remember me brother. And coming to the point, it is not advisable to keep the finches & these parakeets in the same cage. Parakeets are very aggressive. So it will make a tough time for finches to breed among themselves. So kindly transfer these finches pairs to a separate cage.

    I had Coconut nest boxes for my Finches - drill a big hole and empty the coconut, the birds would take grass into the coconuts to make nests. I used to cut coconuts in half to make nests for diamond doves too.

    I have successfully bred budgies and zebra finches together ,the secret is do not provide the zebras with nest boxes ,but let them build their nests ,just like canaries,here in Australia you can actually buy woven nests made up by bamboo ,which the finches love and the budgies completely ignore ,too small for them ,in this environment the zebras thrived,in the wild it is unusual for zebras to nest in tree hollows,they do use them sometime,but the norm is for them to build nests so that they don’t compete with the wild budgies,and thus are left alone,kind regards from an avid fan ,I watch all your videos ,you are living the life I can only dream of ❤😊

      @oioi-zw3fw 11 месяцев назад

      And why is that ?

    • @SNS95
      @SNS95 11 месяцев назад

      @@oioi-zw3fw Budgies are very aggressive birds when they are breeding they don't like any other birds around there nests so if any baby zebra finch or adult go near there nest they will attack them bite of their feather or in worst case will bite of there legs. Once one of my budgie female accidentally entered an other females nest and the owner of nest killed that female, same happened with a newly fledged budgie chick who went in some other females nest and I found it dead next day so now u emagin what will the budgie do to these poor zebra finches chicks if the go in one of budgie nest accidentally.

    • @SNS95
      @SNS95 11 месяцев назад

      I have around 50 budgies pairs and I breed them in a colony setting like daxter and I'm doing this for 4 years now. You don't want any other birds in breeding budgie colony. Dexter have a cocktail colony as well so he can easily keep the zebra finches in that colony and can breed the finches very easily without any problem cause cocktails are very chill birds, one can keep any type of finch or any other bird with cockatiel.

    They should be separated!! Hookbills are never put with finches ever l. They will bite off the finches feet, it's horrible, they are so traumatized. Build another aviary please, please, please!! Also,not all finches get along. You must do your research on community aviaries. Some finches will kill other finches and kill and eat the babies!!! Please separate and do research, very, very important.❤️

    separate it now, maybe in the wild they share same habitat, but in captivity that has only limited space, it will absolutely cause disturbance to each other, specially in breeding, limited space they will compete for it,and it wouldn't maximize their production..

    The budgies will still disturb the finches because they will chew at the smaller holes until it's big enough for them to get into causing 2x the amount of stress to breeding zebra finches,best to separate them sir.Finches are also very small birds that does not require nests that big. Cheers
