- Land movement continues in Rancho Palos Verdes causing homes to sink several feet as well as damaging nearby roads. A water main has been run above ground to avoid being damaged by movement and causing leaks.
Palos Verdes peninsula was a great place for a family outing. Use to go to Marineland of the Pacific and visit the chapel. Always wondered about the lonely houses on the slopes in the Portuguese Bend area that were hanging on despite all the destruction around the neighborhood.
Marineland the good old days like going to the Pike and POP.😂
Marineland was the best place to take my children when there was nowhere else to go on hot Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Was sad when they closed it down.
This looks like the Seaview tract above PBC. I grew up there in the 1960's and we hike Crystal Canyon above and PBC and the concrete gun nest on the cliffs. I think Fred Marlow developed that subdivision. Bummer if it's all moving now. I had a bad feeling about that place and the soil.
I had no idea that neighborhood was crumbling too!! So sad for those homeowners.
Do the intuit dome
Seems that there has always been something not quite right about that part of the neighborhood. You can go all the way back to the 2007 images from Google Street View and see where they had recently laid some fresh asphalt in that location.
I guess if you can afford a house out there you can afford that extra home insurance,I do feel bad for them though, but looking at Palos Verdes Dr (60 second road)always moving and being patched no way I would move there! Thanks for the Video, your aerial view is good.
Unfortunately, no insurance exists for land slippage / land slide area. Excluded on all policies. Both the house and the land are a total write off.
@@williamlloyd3769I was just about to say this.
Please do Intuit Dome next 🙏🙏 I think is almost done….
Is Intuit Dome done?
one of the richest and most nimby neighborhoods, they'll be fine
