Thank you so much for being my legs and enabling me to walk through your beautiful city. I am a young woman but I cannot walk due to a car accident 5 years ago. I was a dancer and felt as though my life was over. But the internet opened my eyes to such courageous, positive people and taught me a new way to look at life. These videos mean so much to me. I had always dreamed of going to Japan and now I have the next best thing. I have so much respect for your wonderful culture. Thank you again. XXXX
19:40 You can see the corner where the yellow flowers are offered in the two vase. This is a cenotaph for young girls. It was on September 1, 1923. Yoshiwara had many young prostitutes that day as well. The unhappy daughters sold by her parents to the procurer in Yoshiwara because of the suffering of poverty. On that day, a large-scale fire broke out following the Great Kanto Earthquake that struck the Kanto district including Tokyo. It seems that there was only one exit from Yoshiwara. But the gate was mercilessly closed. The reason is to prevent them from using this confusion and running away. And they could not escape the scorching hell and jumped into Yoshiwara's pond. As a result, 490 girls drowned.
I've been looking for videos like this, forever! I love seeing city streets or just traveling in silence. Since I'm housebound due to illness, this makes me feel like I'm going outside for a few. Thanks for making this! ♥️
I'm really impressed about how everybody leaves their bike on the street without any discomfort. Also about how few cars there are on the road. Tokyo sure feels like a dream
I went to Japan with my friends in 2016 and stayed in an Airbnb in Sumida. Had a nice view of the sky tree most of the time. Your videos always remind me of that trip 😊 Thank you
I love listening to the sounds of the city as you walk around, it is so soothing. I really appreciate your videos! Thank you so much for your content on this channel: your videos calms me down a lot when I'm stressed.
I cannot find enough words to thank you for your wonderful videos which have given me a lot of joy and happiness. THANK YOU AND KEEP UP YOUR FANTASTIC WORK!
Hello. You have talent. youre videos are always nice. In day. at night. in rain. in spring. autumn. in winter. in the hot summer. during celebrations and festivals. in places where there is a calm atmosphere and silence. by the sea. in the city. between neon. in the village. in Park. in the garden. in public transport. By walking.. ALL youre videos are fantastic! Thank you. (my tips: video very early in the sunrise or joy for snow in Tokyo .. :) )
I enjoy watching your videos and reading the many signs and posters you pass while walking, I am currently studying the Japanese language and find your videos to be very helpful in practicing reading comprehension, kanji learning/practice. As well as learning new words. お疲れ様、本当にありがとうございます
thank you so much for making these videos. i watch them while i work the night shift and they always make me happy. i have dreamed of travelling around japan for as long as i can remember but currently lack the funds to do so. i love living vicariously through your videos and get so excited every time i see that you have posted something new! thank you.
Thank you so much for this! I watch all of your videos, I am infatuated. Thank you for showing me a place I only dream of for now. I have big plans for my friend and I to go someday, but for now, your videos are a glimpse into the beautiful architecture, people, and atmosphere of Japan. You rock!
Ah! My favorite area to stay in Tokyo ...on the cheap. In fact, four times out of my 12 visits to Japan in the past 17 years. Three times near Minami Senju: The New Koyo Hotel once and the Juyoh Hotel twice, and then once right in the middle of Yoshiwara at the Soho Asakusa. A lot of activity all night long there, around the "snack bars" and what appears to be soaplands (don't know for sure, never went in, despite the guys standing out front saying "Dozo" and motioning for me to enter). One evening, coming back tired from a day of playing tourist, I walked right into the middle of a big annual festival: the "rake festival" is what I called it, but it is actually the "Tori-no-ichi Fair." Really cool! I forgot how exhausted I was and walked through the whole thing. I ended up buying a little decorated bamboo rake to rake in some good luck! The big, elaborately decorated ones go for hundreds of dollars, but you get a round of that traditional Japanese hand-clapping when it is presented to you. BTW, there are videos on YT of the festival, if you're interested.
I think the oriental environment, very organized and planned, is very interesting, visible in the buildings, in the layout of the roads, I really like this idea of sharing a little of what it is like to live there.
The park is the best place to bask in with such a stunning view of the sky tree with a night view that reflected the dancing waving water. So beautiful!!!🌝🌜🌛🌟🌟💕😍
Its so relaxing to watch your videos, especially during night. I always dreamed about visiting Japan and hopefully I will make that dream come true one day. Keep your night walks up. Greetings from Germany 😊
I completely forgot everything for 1:09hrs. The end was supreme. Thank you for bringing me on your shoulder for this amazing walk. This is exactly what I would do if I was in Japan.. I would go for a very long walk at night.. Never thought I would be able to do it.. Thank you!!
The street you didn't go down at 46:09 was a covered 商店街 shopping arcade until earlier this year! This is how i found out about it. And Tsukiji is gone too...
Enjoy so many of your videos. I may yet visit your country as from what I see, it is amazing and one thing I have noticed.. so much safer at night than here in the US. And cleaner. Hope to see future videos, and thank you for sharing these walks.
Love your videos! My wife also watches with me and like many Americans is obsessed with steps thanks to her Fit bit. She suggests you wear one and show how many steps you walked at the end of each video. 😂😂. Anyways keep up the great work! You allow me to visit places I will likely never be able to go, and that is fantastic.
I have the impression that I am going to say something stupid but I will almost bet that the air quality in Tokyo must be identical to that of a village in the Swiss Alps (maybe I'm wrong ! )
Thank you mate, your videos are making me feel relaxed after a work in isolation because of this covid. Someday i'll visit Japan. That's for sure. This is an amazing country and very beautiful. It's very unique.
I have never felt this need before while your other videos but as always it seems as if I was walking there so I just wanted to reach at home at the end of this video. ONE of those small cozy houses in those narrow streets.
You can actually stay in share houses in that area for around $15 a night. I like it even though it’s a little bit of an older area but it’s like 25 minutes from the main drag of Tokyo.. what other city on earth can you get such cheap accommodation in such a wonderful amazing place
1:00 - Look at the people walking in front of Rambalac on either side of the street. Even when the gaps to the person ahead of them are big, they all walk at roughly the same speed and cadence. It's kind of trippy to watch.
Where did you learn to use a camera and lenses? I would also like to do this for those who cannot go outside. I was bedridden for so long and benefited from your walks. I have marveled at how many people said the same thing and enjoy quiet virtual walks to feel better. I live in Southern California in the low desert. It is a very different climate, but I believe there is something very pure about the desert heat and unusual plants that may help others feel better. I also love cats. We have 3, and they are entertaining beyond belief. Besides equipment, do you have suggestions on learning to use a camera and lenses? Best to you.
Nowhere. It's very simple and natural, just point at whatever looks interesting. I don't touch lense much, just full wide and manual focus once or even autofocus during the day.

Look at it, no homeless people living on the sidewalks because basically everyone has jobs, clean streets, safe to walk round by yourself at night even in the small side alleys in the neighborhoods, no one to chase after you or scaring you.

May you walk anywhere in your mind. I too can no longer walk due to illness.
The Japan's outdoors looks like indoors. It's so clean and organized.
And smells nice.. once you’ve lived in Japan you basically can’t live anywhere else. Japan will haunt you everywhere you go because nothing compares
1:03:56 Have you ever picked up your pet, brought it to a mirror and said "hey look look, that's you". That's basically what rambalac did.
😂😂 hehe I love this comment
