I have had very good luck with romantasy recently! -The Witche's Heart by Genevieve Gornichec (Norse myth retelling from Loki's wife's perspective) -Kingdom of Exiles by Maxym M Martineau (it's about a "beast charmer" which is like a magic Pokémon trainer and a shadow magic man. -Her Spell that Binds Me by Luna Oblonski (sapphic the "enemies to lovers" is the weakest part but overall very good!) -Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa (just reread the whole trilogy! It's high stakes and very slow burn (all time fav)) -The Weaver and the Witch Queen by Genevieve Gornichec (historical fantasy with magic and real historical figures from the 920s Norway) -Prisiner of the Witch Queen by Edie Marr (sapphic that was surprisingly slow burn and good when I only expected smut lol) -The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska (good YA sapphic Witch slow burn) -The Princess and the Fox Girl by Julie Law this one was great and very smutty but also had a good story and even alpost made me cry (it looks wierd but really was good) -Nine Tailed by Jaycee Lee was a good ramantasy in a modern setting with Korean folklore! -Caught in The Basilisks Gaze by Mallory Dunlin is a sweet and spicy fated mates romantasy with a ton of magical creatures and adventure. I'm looking forward to Swordcrossed by Freya Marske which comes out soon and is gay romantasy which she does very well! One I'm excited for The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi (which I just got the rec from a newer channel called vanessagamooreads) Also Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao it's between romantasy and romansci-fi)
@@ursi7364 yesss omggg!!! I’ve never met someone else who’s obsessed with her😭 what made you have the obsession haha? I had to research her in year 7 and then just read her diaries and became absolutely obsessed and traumatised and then obvs the movie!!! Best movie to exist!!! Then when Sophie lark brought out this book I screamed and died!!!
@@Siobhancaitlynbooks i think ages ago i watched one of the bbc documentaries about rasputin and then i think i watched the anastasia movie (best movie ever) and THEN i watched a bit of this show on netflix which was about how like the son had haemophilia or something but i think the documentary made me obsessed lool
I have always wanted to read Sarah J Mass but I never did 😅 I'm scared that I can't get into the fantasy kind of world. Would you say Throne of glass is a good way to start?
Honestly it depends like if you’re more into romances and wanna get into fanatsy I’d say start with Acotar as it’s more palatable and short and full of romance whereas throne of glass is slightly more fantasy based and obviously extremely long so starting with tog might slightly put you off… unless you have will power to finish a big series then I’d recommend it!
@@Siobhancaitlynbooks Oh! I thought Acotar is a bigger series than Throne of glass! I read Brandon Sanderson's first Mistborn and I loved it so so much! Not sure if Acotar or Throne of glass is similar to that fantasy world 🤔 If so, I think I might try Acotar!
