“Metal is badass. Metal is awesome.”
That kid spoke nothing but the truth
Who tf compares Marilyn Manson to Nicki Minaj?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
These kids I swearrrr
These incels 💀
Suckers
Idiots
they both share theatrical genius, you idiots
In my opinion Kiss and twisted sister are glam rock not shock rock.
Totally agree, just a little more "edgy" than other glam rockers
Ozzy shock
Both were extremely shocking and controversial when they debuted. Parents were protesting outside KISS shows in the 70's for supposed satanic worship. Dee from TS testified before a congressional hearing trying to stop the PMRC from putting warning labels on their music because they were considered shocking and vulgar because of their trans look. Christians are hilarious.
I just said the same thing. So glam not shock.
bro Angel is just a straight up metalhead at heart, she just didn't know it 😂😂
Appreciating Rob Zombie makes me happy.
ROB ZOMBIE SCARES THE HELL OUTTA ME! BUT I LOVE HIM!! HE IS SHOCK ROCK!
@@christikirk7265 *Industrial Metal
Agreed.
I once held the door for Mr. Zombie at an after concert party at an adult club. He growled at me and I told him he needed to say thank you... Now I know that was his thank you 😂😂
I wish he told them the history of powerman. The singer is robs little brother
the slipknot appreciation in this video is way better than the first video about them
Ironically, Alice Cooper got sober in the late 70's and became a devout Christian and avid golfer. Even teaches Sunday school and does a lot of volunteer work. His onstage persona is nothing like him in real life. He says it's just a character for him. From all accounts, he is one of the nicest celebrities around.
Cypress Hill says being a rock star. Still a job. It's a fun job, but it's still a job.
Best part of Dee is they pulled him into Congress, expecting a dumb rocker in makeup. Dee came in a sleeveless shirt and made Gore look like a CHILD.
Don't forget, the tightest pair of jeans to exist!
As a metalhead i feel sorry for these boys they are missing so much
amen brother ,different times... most kids these days cant understand what we grew up with....
@@theredhattedman yeah!!!!!🤘🤘that's great man keep it heavy
Lol I chuckled at these radio hits! I do agree tho...
why only the boys ?
@@theredhattedman totally agree
Rammstein will always be my favorite Metal band, they put so much effort into there concerts and it's so unique how a German band can get so popular in America compared to most American bands
Their concerts are on a whole other level!
@@itaygdrums7776 as somebody who has been to a Rammstein concert i agre
I agree. They really did them dirty by only showing them Du Hast.

This is a girl who was told that anything mentioning evil or the devil is, in and of itself, evil. But that's literally the opposite of the point within the context od the song AND in the theological context.
Corey's lyrics for that song specifically are intended to hold a mirror up to each of us and recognize that every mortal/man is a combination of both good and evil, whether we want to admit it or not. It akso contemplates the way that the influence of others can steer us towards either direction, but tends towards the "evil" end of the spectrum if you don't have the willingness and desire to become Good.
It's the old saying:
"The only thing needed for Evil to succeed is that Good men do nothing."
An old buddy went to see GWAR live and wore a plain white T-shirt at the show to prove a point. He has a "before" photo where the shirt is totally clean. Outside the show two hours later, there's an "after" picture. His shirt, face and jeans were *dripping* black, green and red. Up until the last time I spoke to the man, the color has never come out no matter how much he washed the thing.
*That is GWAR.*
Thats rad! RIP Oderus
Comparing Marilyn Manson with Nicky Minaj is the crime of the century... 😢
Thought the same thing
What can I say..... Crime happens....
Feel sorry for Marilyn Manson for that one
KISS and Twisted Sister are more Glam Rock than Shock Rock though.
I agree
So wrong as kiss Bowie and Alice Cooper made the style and twisted sister an w.a.s.p kept it going till rob Manson an took the torch then lordie and gwar
Not in the 70s lol
When she said GWAR looked like a "space orgy" she had no idea how accurate that was. If only they could access the full library. Lol
I dunno why the host didn't drop this interesting trivia on these kids. Spider One, the lead singer of Powerman 5000, is Rob Zombie's younger brother.
I just saw Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie this past week and they were both incredible. The fact that Alice is still killing it on stage at 75 is insane. Still has the snake too!!😂
Omggg I saw them too about two weeks ago at Jones Beach, loved them so so much especially Alice Cooper!
@@auroraarmlet I was really impressed with Ministry & Filter too…all of the bands put on an amazing show! It was such a great concert!!!
@@auroraarmlet OMFG! I was there at Jones Beach, too! One of the best concerts I’ve ever been in my life!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Marilyn Manson and Rammstein are my favorites, but can´t deny that Alice Cooper and KISS are phenomenal shock rockers!
Listening to Gen Z talk melts my brain....
Bunch of idiots!!!
The sad part is they don’t even know what the hell the “Dragula” is ☹️ Am I the only one who heard Powerman 5000 and immediately was back in WWE Smackdown VS RAW?
They shocked about this but dont know that Cannibal Corpse and Infant Annihilator are a thing..
That would be something I'd love to see
What do you expect from gen z, they are too soft for everything lmao
as a gen z that's wrong i dont claim these peopel@@himajongte
Buffalllooooooo cannibal corpse
My dad was in a band called "Greased Up Monkey Brains" (GUMB) and I wanted one called "Burning Johnson" (BJ)
Angel's reactions and genuine appreciation for music from 20 years ago seriously makes me smile.
Word
Alice Cooper literally started this entire genre. Thank him for these amazing artists and go see him live before its too late.
Exactly 💯
I've seen Alice Cooper 20 times and I'm just as amazed each time. He's an incredible performer and an amazing guy.
I love the black girl in this. Gives me hope for this generation lmaoo
I have watched her over time become a total metal head.
Seeing Jaxon geeking and rocking out is always so awesome to see.
I’m part of Gen z and I’m always, constantly, neverendingly, disappointed in my gen
Well it's natural. I was gen X and we certainly weren't all cool. But genZ is very special, like special school is special.
@@Fire_ov_Renewalextra special differently heightened bus 🚌
I disagree in the case of Rammstein - it is not Shock Rock, it´s Industrial Metal
You should've mentioned Dee Snyder testifying in front of a Congressional commitee about music vulgarity, banning, etc.
And ripping them a new asshole! 🙌🏻🤘🏻👌🏻
I feel like these kids would side with the committee over Dee...
"My fav is Spikeboy".. oooh my sweet child.... i've something to tell you that will make you sad.. He is gone now.
I'm sorry, but how in the actual fk do you have KISS on a list of "shock rock" bands and not have W.A.S.P. on that list?
Name one famous song done by W.A.S.P., i'll wait......
@@rampagephoenix1735 L.O.V.E. Machine, I Want To Be Somebody, Blind In Texas, Wild Child
As a millennial, watching their reactions hurts me.
Gen z reacts to Marilyn Manson interviews with the media. He's a very intelligent person
Angel is an absolute metalhead in the making, like you vibe to slipknot without even being a fan of the genre it's a wrap at that point
I remember when a friend's daughter wanted to "shock" her mother with Marilyn Manson music and posters in her room. Mom showed the kid some old Alice Cooper videos ;)
Kids always think they "invented" something new ;)
lol that boy says “omg I’m scared” at Rob Zombie lmao
I think that those " boys " are more on the femmin side.
Gwar is essentially heavy metal performance art. The shows are an absolute f**king blast.
Ok so for people that don't know, the devil in I is basically the members of slipknot "killing" their old selves and getting rid of their addictions and fears
Songs:
Rob Zombie- Dragula
White Zombie- More Human Than Human
Marilyn Manson- The Beautiful People
Slipknot- The Devil in I
Screamin’ Jay Hawkins- I Put a Spell on You
Alice Cooper- No More Mr. Nice Guy
Kiss- Rock and Roll All Nite
Gwar- Sick of You
Rammstein- Du Hast
Powerman 5000- When Worlds Collide
I hadn’t thought of Powerman 5000 in years. I remember really loving “When Worlds Collide”
Our oldest was an absolute mad lad baby boy and we gave him the theme song of Super Villin. At 16 yrs old now, he LOVES telling people that😂.
Alice Cooper is my absolute favorite. I've seen him live many times in the last couple of years . He's 75 now and still touring . I'm excited for his new album release as well
I believe he is the original shock rocker. I was 5 or 6 when I first saw him on TV singing "Welcome To My Nightmare." My mother about had a heart attack and couldn't change the channel fast enough lol.
@@tattooedman42 yes he is and that's what he wanted . He wanted parents to hate him so he did his job right 😄
I only discovered Alice in 2014 when i rewatched the movie Dark Shadows and his cameo came and i needed to know more about this guy who stands on stage in a straight jacket and wears smeared make up . Have been a fan ever since . I actually just saw him last month with the Hollywood Vampires
@@sophiecooper1824 Welcome to the nightmare lol. I am much older than most people who watch this channel (I'm 58), but I still love rock, usually the heavier the better, but I still love the classics too.
Besides Screamin Jay Hawkins, Arthur Brown also deserved a mention. "Fire" is an amazing song. The man is still performing today at about age 80. Alice Cooper cited him as his major influence.
Never disrespect Manson by comparing him to Nikki Minaj. Nikki Minaj will never be as good as Manson.
THANK UUUU
She can't even hold a candle to him. She's a talentless hack
Dragula was a car in the tv series "The Munsters". It was a coffin dragster. Built by the master that built the Batmobile.
Clearly younger gen Z. I'm a part of Older gen Z, I know these artist because either I found them on RUclips when I was younger or I grew up on their music
yes yes, definitely!
I'm younger Gen Z and I love these types of songs. I love alt music from punk, post punk, metal, etc. Honestly, it's hard to put a label on what generation listens to what because music is subjective and has nothing to do with what year you were born in.
Either way, it's nice to find a fellow Gen Z that enjoys this type music.🖤
When Joe brought up Dee Synder and Twisted Sister, I'm suprised that he didn't speak about how he owned Al and Tipper Gore in the 1984 PMRC congressional hearing about the "explicit lyrics" in their songs.
You can't show Alice Cooper and not show his iconic guillotine part
i met Alice Cooper and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
I'm IN LOVE with Jair's hair! I love Angel's reactions! I did not know that about Marilyn Manson. I used to listen to him a lot in the early 2000s! I did NOT expect that sound to come out of Jaxon! (I Put a Spell on You) Holy sh*t that was wild! This was such a fun video!
What, a Lady like you says " Holy sh*t that was wild!" ! you just are sooooooo influenced by this macho society , that you talk like men 🙂
As much as I love Rob Zombie's solo work, White Zombie had Sean Yseult on bass, and I sincerely believe a large part of their success was her driving hook-lines underneath it all.
If these kids were alive in the 90s they'd be Hanson fans.
Except that girl with the braids.. there's a metalhead in there. She went nuts on Limp Bizkit in another video. Instant fan right there :P
Not gonna lie, I still enjoy mmmbop. Lol
Some Gen Z’s were alive in the 90s. They just didn’t vibe with this music. It’s fine.
@@SusanAnnanno gen z is born in 2000-2013 dummy
To correct the host. It was the evangelicals who were protesting against the music, but the fallacy is that it was spearheaded by Conservatives. Tipper Gore, the wife of the Democratic VP Al Gore was the force behind the movement and the government hearings about the addition of labeling music with Parental Advisory stickers. Dee Snyder was one of several artists from all genres who appeared at the hearings to fight against the labels which were viewed as being anti artistic freedom.
And not only did he attend the meetings, he did it while dressed as his usual band outfit. He was so well spoken and knowledgeable about things.
It was Dee, Frank Zappa and John Denver. Zappa and Denver showed up in suit and tie, Dee came dressed in Jeans, a t-shirt and a jean vest. You could see the panel looking at each other like "This is going to be easy". Then Dee annihilated them with his words, and how well spoken he was.
Incoming fans and old heads hating kids for not knowing shit about their favorite genre.
Love that describing Rammstein's shock factor focuses on pyrotechnics instead of the whole, y'know, p%rn aspect to their vids! 😂
Lol. White boy's trying to impress black girl so hard, and she's low key into it. Freaking adorable. 😊
I met Rob Zombie, Idalis, Kennedy, Chris Hardwick in 1997. I got to interview them and hang out with everyone during an MTV show taping.
In all my years listening to Metal I've never heard any of these artists referred to as "shock rock" but i'm glad they are received positively. Angel and Jaxon are a whole vibe here, everyone had good reactions for the most part.
Really ? Alice is often called the godfather of shock rock. Almost every article about him mentions that
@@sophiecooper1824 tbh Alice Cooper is one of few i never got into much so i guess it would make sense i never heard that.. thank you for the info though.
well, only a handful like kiss, alice, gwar and manson were geniunely shock rock. but i guess they clumped them all together coz of their theatrics. tbh tho genre names mean nothing really. as a teen i obsessed over it, but since growing up, music is music 🤘
@@shockafter7 true, i feel you!! Besides, music evolved so much, there's too many sub genre categories i don't have enough time in the day. lol
I want a separate video of “Teens React To Rammstein”
Imagine them reacting to the music video for p*ssy 😂
Seconded
Don't mind me, I'm just here to watch the kids get traumatized by Gwar.
Where did all the testosterone go???
Gwar drank it all.....?!?XD
@@skuzzbunnygoated comment
I can’t believe this is my generation 😂
Wow. You are so different. Did they pick you yet?
I grew up listening to this. This is the first time I've ever heard it called shock rock. We just called it metal
this felt like a throwback to 90s and y2k MTV rock (except GWAR, but they were also on MTV at one point LOL) I have seen 90% of these bands live when they were big, and it was a TON of fun!!
Gwar was popular enough with MTV that Beavis and Butthead were obsessed with them (and watching their videos on their show on MTV) and the Beavis and Butthead PC game focused around their journey to see Gwar live in-person (fun as hell game, too).
Where was NINE INCH NAILS!
Shouldve played God Of thunder with Gene spitting blood to show KISS’ true Shock rock image.
We need a Gen-Z react to Rammstein!!!!! Especially the live shows!
The black girl in the black jacket is the only one who had music taste 😂 everyone else was offended 😂
Man Powerman 5000 growing up late 90s early 2000s we got our music from like Pro Skater and other games and I remember first hearing Bombshell through Shaun Palmers Pro Snowboarder
Growing up as a teenager in the 90's made me appreciate so many genres of music. Never was there a time with more experimentation in music. It was great
Class if '95 here, and we definitely had the best music. First concert was the Ramones and White Zombie my second wasWide Spread Panic and Phish. Two ends of the spectrum but the music was amazing. The best rap and hip hop. I still throw on some Cypress Hill and jam out. And the festivals!!! Summer festivals and road trips. No cell phones, you lived in the moment.
Is that a shock for them? :) Poor kids. Thanks god you didnt show them Cannibal Corpse or Cradle of Filth
It’s nice they decided to have one straight guy in the group. Representation matters.
Lol
The girls are way cooler than the boys here
They usually are...not sure why they couldn't find a few straight guys for the channel
"I can smell the music video.." Man If you ever went to a white zombie show, you could smell him from 12 rows back too!!
If they ever react to deathcore I recommend -
To the Hellfire - Lorna Shore
Demolisher Slaughter to Prevail
Far from Heaven - Fit for an Autopsy
You Only Live Once - Suicide Silence
Pray for Plagues - Bring Me the Horizon
Whitechapel - This is Exile
Job for a Cowboy - Entombment of the Machine
I’m 19, I’ve been listening to Alice Cooper for literally my entire life, I’ve seen him in concert 3 times. That being said, they should have shown these people some of Alice’s stage theatrics, such as the Guillotine, Nurse Rosetta, Frankenalice and other things. Not just the snake.
Ya kids, this is what your parents listened to.
The fact that they do not already know about Rammstein makes me weep for the future.
Rammstein its in a bit of trouble right now so maybe they skip them because of that.
Oh no! how ever will this & future generations survive without knowing Rammstein 😱
Rammstein trash anyway
not yall casually playing my childhood playlist
This is absolutely awesome seeing this the next video for the Gen Z to react to some Deathcore Bands I would love to see that.
MetalCore included as well!
I really dont understand how yall can mention Alice Cooper but nit mention Ozzy and or Black Sabbath.
I love how they don’t recognize more contemporary artists, but everyone recognizes Kiss!! Hell yeah
The girl with long braids, she’s gonna start listening to metal, you just know lol 😂
How are you going to show Alice Cooper without the Guillotine? 😂
Came to say that 😂
It doesn't make sense 🙁 they show the tamest song and nothing of his stage show except the snake
The girl with the braids is so cool she’s super open minded! The other kids are just over the top! 😂
Me waiting for you to show them GG Allin 😂
Bro that's too far 😂 it would scar their young brains 😂
Anytime I think of GG Allin I have to listen to Hot Topic Is Not Punk Rock by MC Lars. Shocking is an inadequate word for GG. 😂
i can't believe they enjoy shock rock but not slipknot
they called slipknot scary but not Marilyn manson 💀
How do you not mention Rob Zombie is a producer & film maker as well?
HOW DO YALL NO KNOW ROB ZOMBIE!?!?
Angel and Jaxon are definitely my favorites in these. They just like music and seem to be very open to everything.
we need gen z to react to black metal or death metal
I don't think gen z could handle the likes of Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, Mayhem, etc.
No
No we do not
Rob Zombie deserves a react video dedicated just to him. Especially since Limp Bizkit got one 😐
@3:42 "it's like Halloween music woth a groove! :)"
I will never not refer to Marilyn Manson as Halloween music with a groove now lmao. That was way too funny and accurate 😂
I guess I must be ahead of my generation. I listen to this kind of stuff on the daily.
“Kind of reminds me of Billie Eillish” lmao it’s more like she reminds you of something they did in one of these videos.
Rob Zombie is such a cool, talented guy! His life story is fascinating, his career transitioning is inspired. I need to get into more of his work!
I believe Gwar originated from a bunch of art students at the University of Richmond FYI
It was the side project for their other band death piggy
Gwar will ALWAYS be my FAVORITE live show.
RIP davey brockie
Fun fact Alice Cooper was on an episode of Sesame Street.
Fun fact: Sesame Street is where Alice bought all of his coke in the 80's. Not gonna name names but you can get anything you want...if you visit the right trash can.
for the rammstein part, you should have shown a live version.
Thank gosh you didn’t show them GG Allin. They’re better off being shocked than traumatized.
GG is the shit
Nothing beats a live GWAR show! I cherish my 89 tour shirt covered in about 9 shows worth of bodily fluids. Last time I saw them I took my 20 something son and nephew and my 40 something brother. RIP Dave Brockie (AKA Oderus Urungus).
I attended every Gwar show in Denver from 93’ to Dave’s passing. I have all the CD’s and videos. The adolescence. In this video can not comprehend the violence and deprivation of a Gwar concert or the lyrics behind the songs. It’s simply unfashionable and disgusting for them. Hahah all hail GWAR all hail Dave Brockie!!
