Depending on motherboard a cheap prebuilt is a great base to upgrade from if you’re scared to build from scratch, got a $1000 prebuilt that was very bad a couple years ago, new cpu, new gpu, and liquid cooler have made it an enjoyable and quiet system. My only limitation now is the PSU, I’d almost rather buy another prebuilt than rearrange all those cables 😂
You got scammed, I was going to build my own pc but I got a prebuilt pc from Best Buy on sale instead because of the great deal. I got a 3060 12gb and an I7 12700f for 900 dollars. I think I did a test a while back where I got at least 600-700 fps in creative on low settings and could play epic settings with everything maxed out at a consistent 120 fps. I could probably get more but I would have to test it.
Try it without the second monitor being on as I remember when I first got a second monitor I dropped about 10-20 frames in demanding games whereas on a game like Fortnite it doesn’t need much so that fps difference could be 40-60
Make sure any nanite and ray tracing related crap is off such fps killers and fortnite hates directx 12 stutters so much and any gpu driver update just fucks the performance, epic needs to get their shit together with all the bugs and directx issues
I would advise not too. It seems very nice that you can game where ever you want, but in reality, you need a charging point. When you play games the battery goes down insanely fast. I suggest just buying a pc since they are cheaper and you just don't have to worry about charging.

Was the second monitor running off the pc? Wallpaper engine severely hurts performance if you have an intensive wallpaper or multiple monitors. If you disable wallpaper engine you should get much higher framerates.
My 900$ pc runs almost all the AAA titles at max setting possible for 1080p and on some games it can even handle 1440p and his pc wasn't running well 😂
