Very true. If Chelsea were to come to a traditional South Indian Brahmin wedding she would be shell shocked as there is no dancing and no hugging between the bride and groom. Very conservative but beautiful.
Difference between Marathi Brahman & Maratha Marriage is the presence of sword but that's it. Other than that, it's all about throwing rice beads on the couple & singing Mangal Ashtak. We don't dance either. Although I guess our vidhis are a bit smaller than those of South Indians.

This is the worst depiction of an indian wedding. I have never seen more dry and non-interested people before. Also, I often find that Chelsea doesn't get into the deeper meaning of Indian culture. She takes stereotypes and tries to see if they're true or not---on a very dry basis. No hate, just an observation.

well the truth is you don't get to know the indian wedding until you fully participate in every traditional feature of it.
where i live in the UK . its like 3 or 4 every week . Right this moment there are festivities across the road from where I live. I live in a town that's about 70% indian and about 10% Pakistanis. it is a part of my life. I have attended weddings from all casts and ethnicities from India. Since last year, my cousin is engaged to a lovely indian bloke born and raised in germany. my cousin is going to live in germany because her fella only speaks german. but before that we'll throw the party of the century.
