This is so clever and wish I saw this a little bit sooner as I bought some materials for a different plan on how to get into my storage loft but this is wayyyy better and I'm going to give this a go! I'm wrapping up my tiny house with stairs built into my sleeping loft so I wanted something stash-able for the storage loft.
Your camera work is good enough that I can see what you used to build this. Just doing some math to figure out how much board feet we need and we'll be good to go. Thank you for this.
sorry to be so off topic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Rex Brandon Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Wonderful design and video and thanks for sharing. I am moving into a tiny home that has an interior width of 92 inches, which is approximately 7.66 feet. My question is that based on your pull-down ladder which is eight feet touches the floor how much actual floor space do take up? Therefore. from the start of the ladder to the end of ladder on the floor what is the actual amount of floor space taken up? Thanks and Happy Holidays?
the full ladder is about 8 feet but when folded on it's hinge in the upright position, it is about 7 feet. The floor space it takes up when down is about 5 feet from the wall. Thank you!
I have been banging my head against the wall trying to find a solution to my loft access woes. This is perfect. Thanks Daniel. Only concern is whether or not something like this will pass code up here in British Columbia..
I am now living n a 10x24 tiny home still working on getting a ladder to get me up to my loft.lolol please any one out there can help, glenda in Ontario Hagersville area
glenda b-h are u needing it to be like handicapped? If so their are government funds to find help with that ‘ believe u me ‘ their are !! My hubby is a specialist in the medical field and if u need some help u start digging in online and don’t give up ‘ u will get the help u need ‘ ... now if ur not handicapped then I’d go right back to the beginning of the video and pause and play where u need to observe and see what all he did ‘ ask him what he used in materials ‘ it maybe already listed I didn’t look any further than skimming over the video which was great ‘but go to Lowe’s and use ur head gal’ u got this !!!
Haha, no I built it this small to save money and to have an affordable place to live. I am then able to put more funds into restoring and renovating the farm and eventually our business.

Thanks so much, you really help me out!
The PEGS Rule! Loft reminds me of the one, growing up, in cabin Dad built.~ *
Thanks!
Thought that song was about to turn into Winona’s Big Brown Beaver by Primus when the singing came in
Thank you
Would be great if you could share hardware list and type of hinge. Thanks for posting cabin looks great
Thanks. I'll see what I can do. The hinges are pretty common ones with regular 2x4's and deck screws.
Daniel Rivera I appreciate your reply. There is a good chance I’m overthinking it...
The best homemade ladder; use only four hinges!

Right. Luckily where we are anything that is less than 100 square feet does not require a permit.
Did you ever find out if it would pass code as I'm also interested in this and live in BC?
@@nnamerz Not sure if this would pas code in BC.
How can we find more of this music? It’s awesome!
It's something quick I wrote a few years ago. Kind of a one-off unfortunately. Glad you like it.
@@TripleGreenJadeFarm do you have it recorded and more songs like it?
@@lukestevenson7358 I have it recorded on another laptop I think. It's just a loop really and not a proper song, if you will.
@@TripleGreenJadeFarm send it on.
Really smart
Awesome!!
How do i purchase and or get the plans? Or better yet..when can you come and build me one..
me too
Awesome awesome awesome
nice, pretty lucky with length ;)
Vary simple. 👍
Do you have a tutorial on how to build this ladder?
Great idea, but can't hear what you say with the loud background music.
Sorry about that! I'm not saying much, just talking about going up and down and why I installed the "oh crap" handle at the top for safety.
The music is a bit load but other than that, great vid
should screw the hinge at least halfway of the beam/jamb, just in case the hinge fails
Music is Bad Ass!!
