Hello - I am about to start dismantling and cleaning a pair of these lovely 10 x 50s. I am always having problems replacing the small central counter-screw in all the binoculars I'm fixing. How do you line it up with the existing hole? Do you mark the spot with a pencil? Thanks!
under small central counter-screw there should be a small pit (recess). and you must spin with ease. and if it is difficult to spin, then you have not hit the hole
OK - thanks, that's what I thought. I need to make a pencil mark. It's amazing that the whole success of the repair depends on that tiny counter-screw!! I'm going to finish up my 3rd pair of Deltrintems and then I will do my Oberkochens, following your guide. After that some Dekorems! Thank you again for your most excellent videos - I have learned so much from you! @@StOKRATzoom
Hi, thanks for the video, very informative. May I ask you, at 2:23 you removed a tiny screw (counter screw?). Do you know the dimensions of this screw please. Thanks.
hello, i really appreciate the helpful videos on oberkochen binoculars. may i ask you a few questions please? ... 1. should the collimation be readjusted after the prism was taken off for cleaning? 2. does the prism have adjustment points for collimation, such as screws that would push it into place? thank you in advance 😊
in these binoculars, after dismantling the prism, cleaning and installing it in place, the collimation may go astray and the binoculars will start to double. on the platform where the prisms are fixed, there are clamping screws that keep the angle between the prisms at 90 degrees. it is possible that later you will have to adjust the binoculars using lenses (large lenses)
Nice job sir. I have a later model Jenoptem and instead of the screw on the eyepiece bridge there is only a plate. In this case, how can I remove the eyepieces? Do you have experience here?
Jenoptem and Oberkochen are different binoculars, they were made in different factories. Jenoptem is the German Democratic Republic. Oberkochen is West Germany Federal Republic of Germany. I have videos of other zeiss
@@StOKRATzoom I know that and it's common knowledge. I also watched the other videos. What I mean is, the later models don't have the screw in the middle of the eyepiece bridge like all your models in the videos do. Instead of the screw and cover they have a round plate. Perhaps to avoid being opened up by unskilled people.
@@StOKRATzoom Sure. So, i found here a video ...mine is serial number 65..... approximately from year of manufacture 1986 and I think from this serial number the screws were replaced. ruclips.net/video/-d2XCU-ZezE/видео.html
Finally I bought a binocular like this. It was full of fog, but after cleaning the prisms, the image is superb. But I have other problems with the prisms. After I clean them and assemble the binocular there are small black residues left on the prisms. Every time in different position. Have you encountered this problem?
maybe it's paint or dust. after installing any lens or prism, you need to strongly blow the binoculars so that all small particles fly out of the binoculars
@@StOKRATzoomI have a small hand blower like yours, but after I blow the lenses there are small electrified dust particle that sticks to prisms. That's becouse I use this hand blower

opposite the hole, you can draw a mark with a pencil

I don't think he is very important. but ok, I will measure with a micrometer
diameter 0.8mm-1mm
height 1.5mm-2mm

Hello. Comparing to Carl Zeiss Jena 10x50 Jenoptem/Dekarem multi coated, wich one is better? In therms of image sharpness and area of clear.
Oberkochen better I think.

Pro'sKit?

Jena.
Jena
Why?
