Great information! It's totally what I needed. I started homeschooling 3 months ago. And I was wondering about testing. I'm sooo in love with homescooling that I really think I will never send her to regular school. I like that my daughter tests because, you are right, society will test her and she need to get familiar with it and not be scared.
We test every year so I can get a good idea of where they are at. We realized we needed to work a bit more on specific editing skills, so we are doing that this year!
Thank you so much for this video .. my oldest in grade 3 and he is suppose to do testing .. it’s my first time going through testing while homeschooling my kids .. nervous which one to pick .. glad I came by your video .. may I ask you please if we can redo this test if for example the student didn’t do well or something happen can a redo be possible ? Thanks in advance
Colo testing 3,5,7 etc.. My grandson is going into 5th grade. Do we test at the end of 5th grade. I thought the school tested him at the beginning of 3rd and the end if 3rd grade.
All states that I have lived in (if they required standardized testing) started in 3rd and required it on all the odd years (3, 5, 7, 9, 11). It’s very state specific. Hope that helps!
@@lorimcmanus5657 again, this is likely state specific but where I have lived (currently Colorado) it’s only at the end of the year. Not beginning and end.
Is 3rd grade the soonest you can test a kid? Is that because they need to do it on their own and by 3rd grade kids can reliably read their own test questions? Edited to add: I just checked. They can do placement tests going into kindergarten but achievement doesn't seem to be available until going into 2nd grade.

Ahhh that's great! Thanks for sharing! I love homeschooling as well obviously. ;)
I love the idea of making test familiar, and not a big scary thing.
Yes!
You were scared of tests? But your mom was such a genius teacher!!😘
Sue Faville, well she was, however, having a good teacher doesn’t make you less scared of tests lol.

Yes exactly! It's really helpful to have year to year results! :)
Really helpful, thank you!!! ❤

You can do the other test I mentioned in this video the California Achievement Test! :)
I have a link to it in the description.

Awesome! Yes, Stanford 10 doesn't let you test with them until 3rd grade and then CAT test you can start in 2nd grade. :)
May I ask something?
Certainly :)
Oh it’s just right in the description of this video! 😀
