I wish I could get a horse but I dont know where to start and I've been in tough place emotionally for awhile so I never have the motivation to get up and do anything like taking care of a horse...

Sooo I'm just gonna share my riding Story you don't need to read this :
It all started with Pony riding at a Barn. There I fell in Love with horses and riding after some years I really startet riding (english) but I fell many times from straight gallopp and I started to go to the Barn with a bad feeling soon enough I got scared of riding. I cried myself to sleep because I missed riding like I rode for allmost 8-10 years. My Father then meet up with his old class mates one of them had two Horses I tried to ride her Haflinger but got bucked of 😅 she then recommended four barns three english and one Western Barn for scared riders I thought come on just try something new so I started riding at the Western Barn without any comments like 'come on you need to do this NOW!' you should know I am a person who can't handle pressure well. My Trainer gave me time eventhought I just walked for a half Year. So you must think a half year just walking? Yeah like I said I was scared I was crying my eyes out and was totally stiff when the Horse lifted his shoulder. I rode there for 4-5 years , had a riding participation which wasn't really a riding participation because mostly I just got the Horses in , have stuffed hay maybe riden a horse warm for it's lesson and took care of a old little pony. I was recently accused of scratching a saddle I have ridden the horse the last time on a Thursday and I didn't see the scratch in the saddle on Saturday someone else rode the same horse (without even telling our trainer or the riding participation) and they didn't see the scratch either and it was a scratch you see when you get off. So tell me how it should have been me? My parents and me told my trainer that but no she insited that only me could have been it and then she told us she dosen't have time for discussing this sh*t and that I was annoying her because I always need an adult by my side like yeah sure who was the one who brought all the horses into their Boxes when it was raining, hot or cold? ME!! Who was alone all this time and never got help except of one person ? ME! Who feed the Horses when no one was around at 7pm.? ME!! Who closed the gate in the evening because she was the last one in the yard? ME!! So now I ride at an other Barn where I canter wich I didn't do at the other one now I learn how to ride Rollbacks, shoulder ins and other things now I get comments from my trainer like ,,You are good keep going!!" ,,That looks amazing!" and not something like ,,Noo your heels need to go more down!" ,,Use more leg. Kick him so he goes forward!!" ,,Put your shoulders back!!". I am soooooooo happy I changed barns and get such a Good new start eventhought the Goodbye from the horses hurt😕

Yes western is so under rated, I love western I've ridden it my entire life it's just amazing I personally am a trail rider cause I ride a gaited breed and cant really compete In sports tho i used to barrel race it was amazing but i love trail riding its just super peaceful even tho my gelding is crazy😂
I agree western is very underrated and that is how I started out riding and I wouldn't change a thing
How is it underrated? Just bc ppl like more english? You can’t force them to something they don’t like just to make it popular
@@absollinazimmer2883 uh no not at all, western is far more underrated because English, dressage, jumpers or jockeys are seen more than endurance riders, barrel racers, trail riders, reining, people would rather do English instead of western because they dont look deeper into western or try to learn more about it, there is also more English riding barns then western ppl get more lessons English then they do western

My horse rides western pleasure. I’m still training her because she’s only eight and hadn’t been ridden at all until she was 6. I rode her bareback the other day and she was amazing at it. I wish I could jump though.

I may be an eventer but I have a ridiculous amount of respect for western riders. Their discipline if far from easy, as I have experienced. My best friend is a barrel racer and DAMN can she ride. Thank you guys, this really is a stupid comment.

Still trying to convince my boyfriend we need to buy land so we can get horses. I was raised riding western, I only think it’s fair that our son is too. Lucky enough my grandparents have a ranch with horses but we only go once in a while and my two year old has yet to go.

As a personal preference I think that western riders are better than most English because of the strength and abilities that they have and it amazes me because of the twists and turns they do. please don't hate on me for this its just an opinion

Yay, should I name how many horses died/lost legs from rodeos. A cool song won't cover that truth. I like the open riding and the rest is wrong. Train horses to run around barrels and walk backwards and don't get me started on biglick in rodeos and horse races should be illegal.😡
