Thanks for sharing this wonderful archive video. I have photographs of my late Grandfather driving 'The Bristolian' in the 1950's, as a Bath Road Top Link. I spent numerous Saturdays on Temple Meads in the 1970's. I still have a sense of disbelief that Bath Road Depot was demolished, when I see it in person or on video it moves me to tears, but some great memories.

My pleasure, and thanks for sharing your treasured memories of Bristol and your late Grandfather. Like you. I'm saddened to see what's happened to Bath Road, it was always a great place to see locos.

Brilliant footage, Bob, mini DV was very good at the time, crystal clear. I saw Rood Ashton Hall at Swindon in Feb 2010 if I remember correctly. She was double heading then too.

Thanks Justin, just uploaded video of the Ballast passing through Burry Port in the dark, and mini DV would not have touched it for quality......Bob

very nice bob, the place hasn't changed much from what I remember and the steam makes it all the better, nice video.

Thanks David, the main changes at Temple Meads is the demolition of Bath Road diesel Depot, which has made a significant change to the Stations atmosphere...Bob

Much of it is automated now, and sounds far less friendly.

Brilliant Bob.Great to see the 2 Halls together in BTM. Be nice to see them again especially in South Wales.(C&A)

Thanks both, unfortunately, as we said recently, loading gauge issues prevent them from doing much in South Wales....what a shame....Bob

Great video Bob, something that will never been seen again on the mainline no doubt, 3953, sadly.

Thanks Josh, why won't 4953 work the Main Line any more?....Bob

Well I assume with her being owned by the Epping Ongar Railway now that they won't register her for mainline running again.

These two loco's are a couple of my favorite British steamer's! The 4965 was in an old black and white movie made back in the 40s or 50s, that I watched several years ago. It was only shown a minute or two but, to me it was the star of the show. Well, it's about midnight here so, I think that I'll go put another log on the fire and hit the sack. I'll be back as soon as I can to get caught up on you're video's, catch you later! Rich
