I wouldn't even know about this event if not for the Pokémon Go "Influencers." And I doubt I'm the only one. They deserve the privilege for all the attention they bring to the event and the game itself. Stop trying to lay a guilt trip on people.
they have special pop up stores during every worlds event. for example last year i went to yokohama for worlds and went to the pop up store which has exclusive merch for that store (they close after worlds ends)
