    if this gets built, it would most likely have the highest ridership of any lightrail line in north America, and thats including Calgary and Seattle
    (also that plan for rideshare lanes is so fucking dumb, just make dedicated bus lanes on highways like Minneapolis does)

      agreed. they should just make BRT lines on the highways and eventually a few can be turned into future light rail lines to add to the existing network. the self driving car idea is also pretty dumb ngl.

      Seattles light rail ridership is so low. Most light rail trains are like four cars long and half empty

    Not alll that new. The el Paso TX Trolley ran across the Rio Grande into downtown Ciudad Juarez, MX until 1974 when all service was abandoned. It was restored about 45+ years later but did not cross the border the 2nd time around.

    Just build interconnected metrorail and regional rail systems.

    we should remove some lanes from the freeway and create bike lanes out of them them.
    cars aren't sustainable and we've seen that over and over again.

    The problem with these projects is the US is somehow for whatever reason delaying construction. While Mexico is already building infrastructure in their side the US is just there wasting time. In the mexican side of Otay there’s a new border crossing almost finished the US hasn’t even started.

    So you will be able to start with the donkey show in Tijuana and end up at UCSD La Jolla for Veneral disease treatment all in one day?

      There's no donkey show in Mexico and your more likely to get a venereal disease from some scag drug addict American prostitute, then a Mexican

    Uh, why don't they try connecting all of SD to other counties too? If you wanted to go from anywhere in east SD to north or south it'll take 2-3 hours. That's just pathetic.

      Why? Amtrak trains go into Canada? The added part going from the U.S. into Mexico is something like a few hundred feet. If passengers are screened the same way they're crossing the border elsewhere, what's the problem? It sure beats the long waits to drive or even walk back into the U.S.

    • @CityLifeinAmerica
      @CityLifeinAmerica Год назад +1

      @@roachtoasties America is so obsessed with light rail that there’s even a light rail to Mexico rather than Amtrak. This is such a stupid idea.

      @@CityLifeinAmerica something better than nothing. in this situation connecting tijuana to san diego trolley does make sense, many people live in tijuana and work in san diego. Amtrak or a commuter line like coaster/sprinter is better for this purpose though.
