Lovely video ones more !!!!! It was so nice to hear more about you :) And you got Lithuanian friends? we though we ONLY Lithuanians in here LOL (just joking ) The end was so funny ... thank you for sharing it with us :) See you in your next video !!!!!!
A very enjoyable video. It explains a lot about moving to a New country, where everything is different from what you originally knew. I grew up on a farm and loved living there.
I actually thought you had a building industry background because of the way you seem to be able to put your hand to most things. Well done to both of you for the work you are doing. You are doing fantasticly well especially on the gardening/farming.
Bugs..."Nothing super weird"...EVERYTHING you described was super weird!!! LOL. Loving your videos guys and am so envious but also happy for you. Thankfully the bug discussion has made me feel better about pissy wet Britain today.
A good Q&A video, great to see Allys in front of the camera for a change. It's not easy being an expat, as you say learning the language is critical to being fully accepted/ integrated into the community in a rural area. You've both got a fantastic attitude, keep up the great work, and thanks for posting! 🇳🇿
Thanks so much :) She's a bit camera shy sometimes! You're right, it's not easy but i guess no one signs up for an easy ride. We really want to learn the language to be able to properly communicate with the locals.
Hello guys, I really understand you very well. When I moved to the UK, I didn't speak English at all as I learned French instead 😂 but no pain, no gain one day you will speak Portuguese like me well done to you.
thank you for this q&a, one of the best i’ve seen so far: very honest and realistic. And it was nice to see both of you. Greetings from Germany, Claudia
Great Q&A! Love watching your videos. Hubby and I are aiming to be in Portugal full-time this September and will be looking to buy our rural quinta in the Alentejo next year.
Hi there :) It's on our agenda to do that eventually just have been quite busy. We wanted to wait until we had a years worth of data anyway so we will do some on that in future :)
Scorpions are not life threatening but I got stung by a yellow one here in Algarve and it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced, 5 hours post sting I was in hospital for pain meds.
Ah no way! I've heard from others the sting is very painful and the young scorpions cannot control their tail so you're more likely to get stung from a small one (thought that was an interesting point!) We shall stay away from them :D
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, there are Portuguese language lessons in the villages special for new comers i here on other channels that are in Portugal.
Thanks so much Arjan! :) There are some lessons around, free of charge too, but they require a lot of time (here it is 4-5 evenings per week) and we can't with our jobs :( Some of our dutch friends did it but they are retired so had the time to spare!
It's our own personal opinion based on our own situations. English to Portuguese is not easy. Our friends who can speak French or Spanish have had an easier time in learning it. We will get there in the end :)
Thank you Marc and Allys for at super video. And yes Allys, I actually thought about the fact that you get to know both of you a lot better making a Q and A for us. All the best to you both and your dogs😊
Bom dia.
The biggest problem with the British is living in a bubble, I know British people that are living in the Algarve for 15 years and don't speak Portuguese
Don't know where you live but I'm from Portimão and senior citizens from the UK and from all over the world do have their difficulties with the Portuguese language but all of them do try their best. Younger British in the Algarve do not speak Portuguese but that might be because they prefer to speak in Algarvian , I know a young couple in their twenties , he's English but from Wales and she's from Norway and both of them speak better Algarvian than the Algarvians themselves.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us you are doing so well and I'm so happy to hear you are loving it . Congratulations on all your achievements and the amazing work you've done so far ... oh and very funny the end bit

Thanks Pauline! We've not really done a tour of the house. We did a good preservation video a while back but maybe we should do more! :)
