Yo dope vid didnt know it was this ez
jacquard s yeah it’s super easy and quick to do!
OK I've been doing this for years with a seam ripper it looks much safer with a seam ripper than your knife , however I looked for your video so I could try and find the magic method to getting that hem to quickly unravel which sometimes happens 😊
still
great video ! 👏
So on the outside do you do it all the way around?
just subbed !
James Shoats super happy to have you!
I had jeans and they were fitting me loose so i hemmed them so they fit me just perfect. But now it turns out i've gained weight so i wanna release the hem. Idk what do you call that but tailor kinda downsized my jeans on the hips, waist and legs. So is it possible to undo it?
Cool enough thou😏
Thanks man
I did this and when I washed it the end got really frayed it doesn’t look as good any fix?
on the most jeans you have a thread that u can pull and thats make gain u a lot of time !!
Thanks for pointing that out bro!
Joshua Galdo im sorry its not very precise but if u make some research that can be very helpful
W video
Ever since I got a pair of colette Hyatt jeans I’ve don’t this to so many of my jeans
parris it’s such a subtle but beautiful detail on any pair of jeans!!
Nice video...But how do i get white thick & long threads
That will naturally happen as you wear them and the hems unravel a bit
If you want to put a side slit (flared effect) in the inside part of the bottom of the pant leg after you've released the hem, do you know how to go about that? Just open up the inseam stitching the same way?
Yup! Open up that seam running along the out seam and you can fill that space with another material and you got flares! I highly suggest watching Avery Ginsberg's video on flaring a pair of pants, its the same concept!

anyone here who did this with a pair of non-washed mom jeans (100% cotton or not)? i want them to be a bit longer and a bit more straight so i thought about releasing the hem of the pair of jeans. but i'm not sure if it will ruin them completely! thxx
if im dying my jeans from light stone wash to brown, should i unhem first and dye or dye first and unhem?
thanks in advance!
Dye first, it will be a nice contrast between the hem thats released and the part of the jeans you dyed
Does this widen the leg opening? Meaning will the jeans fit over the shoe better
Exactly what I’m wondering
Will this make jeans look baggier towards and not so tapered ??
Nahh not really
You should invest in a seam ripper my dude
I do have one! I just wanted to show that its possible with what people might have at home already
A seam ripper works much faster and is safer than a knife or pocket knife.
Does this work on a non-vintage pair? Or does it just look more prominent in more of the vintage denim pairs?
It should also work on non vintage pairs! The best results are with jeans that are 100% cotton
You mean size 29 is rare for you, not in general right Lol. Good video thanks!
first
This guy clearly hasn’t heard of a seam ripper lmao. You can get them for like $3 at any sewing store and it makes the process 1000x easier
Ziggy Sutherland I definitely own a seam ripper but couldn’t find it before making this video. Once it was made I figured it’d be cool to show people that this can be done with any knife you have in your house. Thanks for watching 😁
Iron them shits g🤝🏼 not wash
