@3:19:20-ish. You missed the Stranger in that room, so I'll help you out: STRANGER: "For so long, you kept the truth shut out, but something made it slip and the hole that it made won't stop growing until you find the root of it all." Add the line from the phone which you saw explains "something made it slip": MOM: "SUNNY ... we're moving away." This whole room of Black Space is dedicated to these two lines, so they are surely of profound importance. And they are, if you think about it.
Oh wow totally missed that line. The hands had me stressed lol. Thanks for letting me know! I love all the little parts of this game that go so deep if you really ponder them. I figure the Mom line alludes to the fact that he fears moving away before finding and/or addressing the root?
@@TheDavidWhitfield I was thinking more like.... in the tunnel after Humphrey, the voice said "will you be doomed to repeat this cycle over and over?" which means.... Sunny dreams himself being Omori and going on zany adventures until Basil stumbles onto the truth (the voice also said "no matter how many times the path is concealed, the flower boy will always find it"), Basil disappears and Omori goes on a quest to find him, and apparently he's somehow found, the dream ends, and then he goes through it all over again. And again. And *again.* And _again._ But... for some reason... _THIS_ cycle (or perhaps the past couple cycles leading up to this one) is different. Why? "SUNNY ... we're moving away." That one line, spoken by Mom to Sunny shattered his stable loop of going through the same sequence of dreams over and over again. He's about to move away, and his friends will be gone forever (or so he thought at the time before Kel came and knocked on his door). I think he secretly wanted to unite with his friends but could never move himself to actually do it. And this went on for _four years._ Then suddenly, Mom's like "you know... we should just move and leave this behind us." ... but Sunny? Sunny's like "but... my friends... they'll be gone forever..."
I love that. I think that interpretation is absolutely correct! You really get that feeling of Sunny(and basil) wanting to desperately break the cycle towards the end
