So I just won an upgrade to a sanctuary class cabin on my next Sun princess cruise. But then get a notice the sanctuary collection won;t be available until the day I get off the cruise ship. So what exactly did I pay for?
Princess SHOULD include all the perks which come with that class of stateroom. This would be very upsetting to most passengers who get the better room but not the goodies which go along with it.
In Don's case its not even a better room. He was guaranteed a Mini-Suite, and he won the bid to upgrade to a mini-suite. LOL! If you don't get the perks, he essentially paid for nothing other than an assigned cabin.
@@davidbutton3500he got.a Sanctuary mini suite which are specific blocks of cabins on various decks. So he is getting a Sanctuary mini suite. It depends on when he booked. If he didnt purchase plus or premier when he booked his original mini suite he wont get those perks for the Sanctuary collection. The September 14 sailing to Fort Lauderdale will have the full Sanctuary perks in place.
Don, you should get every perk a VIP such as you should get. Never settle any more for a mere basic balcony or mini suite!

We got "upgraded" last year on Majestic Princess to a deluxe premimium balcony which was aft however was direct below the lido deck & aft bar. Not private & the noise from the chairs etc. made it not so nice. The balcony was large, good, but the distance to get around ship was troubling as my wife has mobility issues. We were mid ship before. Never again will I bid for a upgrade.
Nothing new here. Once again Don is doing what he does best.

Don, your issues are self-inflicted because you refuse to travel with any airline other than Air Canada and in business class even when you know there's a high possibility of flight cancellation due to strike action. You continuously get upgraded to a suite and then complain about it because you don't get what you expected. You are a travel agent and should know in advance what is or is not included in your upgrade before you bid for it. Come ɓack down to earth and start being a regular traveller just like the majority of your subscribers who incidentally you completely ignore here in the comments of both of your channels.

I upgraded from a oceanview room to a balcony room under the buffet on the Diamond- thougt oh dear will be noisy, its anything but, its a beautiful room, i have the door open, just enjoying the sound of the waves. Perhaps putting the bar too high, just accept it the way it is, and enjoy what you have, because there are a lot of people out there who have nothing.
Don, focus on the good things to experience on the cruise, enjoy that ocean and may you have a great time!
Don's point is that he paid for an upgrade but he's not getting the perks of the upgrade.
I love Princess, but the Sun has been a nightmare since before it ever sailed and the hits just keep on coming.
I have 30+ something cruises on princess. My wife and I are currently on the Sun. Boarded in Athens September 7. We are staying on until it arrives in Florida (32 days). The ship is beautiful, but nothing like any other Princess ship we have ever sailed on. Lots of confusion and bad information. Bought tickets for a round trip bus ticket to city center of Barcellona today only to find out they gave us a one way ticket. Had to find our own way back to the ship. So far not what we expect being loyal to Princess in the Elite category. Could go on with the negatives, but wont at this time. We are staying positive that the true Princess experience comes back to what we expect. Keeping fingers crossed. Plan on being dissapointed.
@@JohnJohnson-mt9ugwe also were on your cruise and just got off on the 15th. We would never sail on the Sun again and would think twice about Princess again. We’ve done 14 cruises with Princess and 13 with Celebrity, and after this cruise Celebrity wins hands down. So many issues, to many to mention here.
@@JohnJohnson-mt9ug I am Elite also, and would love to go on Sun, but I go with the best value I can find at the time and it will usually not be on the newest ships. I hope Princess cleans up some of the things we all love about Princess.
They upgraded us to the owner’s suite and treated us like royalty on our cruise! Amazing!
Just be grateful. It seems you cannot cruise "basic" anymore. Most cruisers don't get perks and are happy, you have so much more.
Not sure what you mean that you can't sail basic. My wife and I just got off the Crown Princess Alaska cruise. We sailed very basic as we always do. No problem at all. We have never bought any upgrades and we always have a great time.

Hopefully everything works out and you at least get some of the perks.
The perks don't require additional equipment, just more service. I don't understand how that is not available. Give them Hell, Don.

Maybe they are just doing renovations in the sanctuary area. And you can get all the other benefits. Princess takes good care of the guests. You'll still have a Amazing Cruise for sure.

lol. Jay of ParoDeeJay had the same thing and he was actually pretty upset. Princess wanted another 900 and change. So they went back to their original cabin 🤦🏼♀️
I saw a video by Cruise Report where he said he may be facing the same issue if their bid is won.
If sanctuary suites are being advertised, why the perks not being given? This doesn't make sense.
Be careful! A lady got banned for complaining on social media. If they hand you an oar at boarding, they could downgrade you to a lifeboat 🤭

Maybe you could call the cruise line and ASK? It sounds like a lot of the perks would not be affected by things being moved around on the ship.

You must be the worst travel agent. The term Sanctuary collection is replacing the Reserve collection. That's all. All the restaurants are still open and I have reservations at them all during the transatlantic. We are currently on the Sun and are having a great time. The only thing we noticed is they are slowly dismantling park 19.
Yeah, that does sound confusing on what perks you'll actually get. Let's just hope you can make it to the cruise.

Sounds like my luck!! A day late and a dollar short!! Always, after the date you are there!! I love when something I really like on a certain line is missing , a cancellation of a show or something else- they tell me “next week” like I can come back?? 😆
The only cruise lines we use are Celebrity, Azamara and Oceania because we've never had an issue with these guys. We've heard too many people complain about most of the others lines. Maybe check out some other lines. Hey, you never know!!
Let's be honest. The Sun Princess has been a giant sh?t show since it launched. It's utterly ridiculous and the worst example of customer service ever!

Don why do you always have to have upgrades life sure is hard,just have like the rest of us have normal inside or balcony which I just take inside,your never in them anyway so why pay more,I would not enjoy have of that stuff mainly because I don’t go to their theatres their shows aren’t good,I don’t even go to shows when I am on royal,but I would never travel princess again anyway. I think it is ridiculous all this stuff,you are always been pampered why?

Don, lately you seem to have negative talking. Everyone is having issues with transportation and potential flight cancellation. And it must be rough getting such nice rooms.

As for the flights, it seems to be the motto of every airline in Canada that "We're not happy until you're not happy."

I would give Princess a call, if I was uncertain of what benefits I am getting having been upgraded to a Sanctuary Class Cabin. Better to know in advance, I say. Good luck getting to your cruise.

Oh nooo. Sun Princess strikes again! But, the cabins that are becoming sanctuary class were really premium to begin with right? The access to the back bar & almost private elevator hasn't changed has it? I was scheduled on the 2nd Sun sailing(cancelled) , but with the price increases I don't think that will ever happen- living vicariously thru you! Safe travels
Aaaaaaaa so what's the issue? What don't you understand? The services are not yet offered not because they don't offer them on the upgrade but because it's not in effect yet. I suggest you call princess and asked to be downgraded and say my bid was for the services you can't offer yet
It certainly sounds confusing. I hope you get there and able to access the perks. Perhaps that notice had the wrong date on it… maybe it should read not in effect until 9/14

I would assume they accepted your low ball offer on an upgrade because they knew that the cabin would not get all the perks advertised. I'm sure if you call and ask them they could tell you.
Just a jinx on them not getting it all together...but I know you will get there and make it good. They have to fix it...you bring huge business...and boy my old Star Princess Innaugural with a TA friend now over 20 years ago..GULP..is really old news; like 2 classes of old news; like new Star Princess coming old news and the list of perks and perk levels so vast that they are over my head...and it sounds like theirs as well!!

I thought it was common knowledge these changes don’t take effect until Oct. 14. Princess did make that clear. Sorry, Don. But you will get an upgraded location and you should still be eligible for Reserve Collection benefits which are also pretty nice!

Maybe Don u did not hear Tony’s video about the lady that got kicked out of the cruise because her complaining? and lately that’s all u do. i come to know about cruising but I hear only nagging, and as a travel agent upgrading a cabin does not mean upgrading ur level, if I upgrade to suite does not mean I’m a diamond prime member benefits.sorry i don’t want to be rude but it is common sense

It's very disappointing that the new Sun Princess is so problematic; I was really interested in taking a cruise on this ship until I learned about so many of the main venues not being ready on the earlier cruises, and now going through a lot of major changes to venue locations. Is this new ship just a big lemon?

Don you need to phone Princess and get it sorted. Yes calling is never much fun, especially if the person is difficult to understand, but has to be done.
