Hi Bo, it's always a pleasure to see your videos even if this topic is not of interest to me it's still pleasant to listen to you for many reasons, first of all the simplicity with which you explain them and the in-depth analysis you always put in your videos. Thank you for your precision that takes the quality of your videos to the next level. In addition to the common passion for model railways, we are united by the passion for Märklìn quality even if I use it with the Trix brand as I have rolling stock of other brands in direct current. Thanks again and good luck wherever you are. Lorenzo from Italy Riviera del Conero city of Ancona Adriatic sea.
Hi Lorenzo, happy to hear that you like the channel. I hope I can keep bringing interesting content. Thanks for all the encouragement - it gives me the extra energy to make more videos. I hope you have lots of fun with your model trains and it is nice to hear from Italy - the Adriatic Sea must be nice. Enjoy;-)
Hi Walker, there are other modern boxed that work like the old ones with different type of connectors that do not require the special plugs: Märklin 72710, 72720, 72730 and 72740. Enjoy ;-)
Hi Eric, yes, this works well for the START UP series. To be honest I am a little envious as this is actually a really nice little control box with cool lights. I made this video because I did get a lot of questions on this one and how it works. Enjoy ;-)
Hi, I believe you are asking if you can connect 4 turnouts? Yes - you can connect 4 turnouts to the Märklin 72752 turnout control box. The Märklin 24978 is compatible with Märklin startup and can be used with it. If you light it from the track consider how much power you are using as the startup controller only have a small power supply. I believe the Märklin 24978 has LED light. It is not stated in manual or Märklin website, but light bulb is not indicated as spare part. This means they do not use much power and you could install quite a few. Enjoy ;-)
i love your helpful videos. May i ask would you show us how to connect noch sound devices to your layout. for example the sound unit for the tree with tweeting birds. What unot does it connect into in order to be digitally controlled
Hi Alf, I am glad to hear you like the videos - hope they help your model train journey. Unfortunately, I do not have a sound module - but a good idea for a future video. In the meantime: In order to connect a sound module I would use the m84. You can configure the m84 to be a simple on/off switch which can control lights, sounds, etc. Looking at the instructions for Noch 12851 (cow sounds) the connection is just a question of turning it on/off: www.noch.com/media/dd/8b/67/1666170610/rs_11721_Anleitung_Sound_Szenen_032022_150dpi.pdf I would do the following to connect the sound module to the Noch: 1. Program the m84 to on/off as in this video: ruclips.net/video/eo65jHaoWqE/видео.html 2. Connect the sound module by looking at the diagram in the Noch 12851 manual above, but replacing the Märklin 72730 "control panel" on the drawing with the m84. The only wire you need to connect to the m84 is the red wire such that it goes through the m84. You connect the red from the 16V AC power supply to the center of e.g. connector 1 on the m84. Then continue the red wire from either red or green on same connector (e.g. connector 1) to the sound module. The black is unaltered and goes from the power supply circumventing the m84 as on the drawing. Note: As it supports 16V AC you might be able to power it from the Märklin track either directly or by adding a resistor? If want to try this I suggest asking Noch about it: www.noch.com/contact/ There is an alternative method by playing the sounds using the CS3. There is a sound event element, so you can create a sound event playing a sound file. There are some standard sound files on the CS3 and you might be able to add your own (I have to look into this). You can use the internal speaker and/or an external speaker by choosing in the the CS3 settings System->(System)->CS3->Settings CS3 ->Audio Playback Source. You can find the speaker output on the back of the CS3 as seen here as the leftmost connector on the back of the CS3/CS3+: ruclips.net/video/wANbrR0fdJk/видео.html Hope this helps! Enjoy ;-)
I was wondering sinds i have a mobile station 2 and i dont want to use my turnouts digital how would i make it so i can use a control box instead? Sinds i dont have the correct ourput for ot
Hi Seni, this particular control box has the special wirering for the Start Up series. You can also find control boxes that work with the MS2: Märklin 72720 and Märklin 72710. I have not tried these so I cannot tell you how well they work. Let me know of your experiences if you decide to use these. Enjoy ;-)
Hello from Greece and well done for your effort. Could you please help me out with the following? I have bought a 74492 mechanism, a 72720 control box and the 29244 starter set with some turnouts. How can i connect 74492 mechanism to a 72720 control box, so this is fully functional? Thanks in advance!!
Hi, Sorry for the delayed answer. The Märklin 29244 looks like a really nice starter set - even with sound. For the 72720 the manual does not give a good answer and I do not have a Märklin 72720 to test: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/22/bc/22bc84c98f94f78c5c7db5289e0874311660729862.pdf Hence, I cannot give you the exact solution I have tested. According to the manual you need an extra power source (lower right picture). You can use an older Märklin analogue transformer, the Viessmann 5200 or an equivalent power supply that gives 16V AC. The Märklin 74492 wires are colored differently, but the Black is the Brown, Red is Red and Yellow is Green. You can see here how to connect the Märklin 74492 to the m83 giving you a hint for the wire colors: ruclips.net/video/eGexwTEeFZE/видео.html I am wondering if you can connect directly to the track using the method I describe below. However, use this method at your own risk as I have not found this documented by Märklin. If I look at the manual at the Märklin picture (lower right), then I believe you need to do the following: - Connect Brown ("0") from the track to the end of the control box - Cut the connector of the wire to the Märklin 74492. The black wire connects to Brown (the end) of the connector box together with the wire above, Red to the Red on the connector box and Yellow to the Green on the connector box. Check out the wire colors in the video above. As I have not tested this solution and I am unsure if it works with track power, please use at your own risk. Would appreciate if you can tell me if it works. Hope this helps! Enjoy ;-) Bo
@@ModelTrainFun sorry but could you be more specific on what i should do with the black wire on 74492?what do you mean by"together with the wire above"?thanks in advance mr Bo!!!
Hi Angelo, it is not documented what the colors of the wires indicate in the manual. If you are looking for using a control box without the special starter set consider the Märklin 72710, 72720, 72730 or 72740. Enjoy ;-)
Hi Alf, The Märklin 72752 and 72751 are for the start up sets only. You can find similar control boxes you can use without the start up set as Märklin 72710, 72720, 72730 and 72740. With the Märklin 72710 and 72720 you can connect directly to the turnouts. If you are looking to make some buttons that the CS3 can react to and then change the turnouts connected to the m83, then you can use the S88 to sense the state of the contact and trigger events that change the turnouts. This could actually be a good topic for a video! Maybe I will look into this some day. Until then you can check out the technical manual for the L88 (should be the same as S88) on page 4: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/4f/7d/4f7d1726948f6e610755ba456f41aee81575463273.pdf Hope this helps! You can also try to email me and I can try to help (find email in channel about). Enjoy ;-)

Hello and thank you for yet another great tutorial. I have a 72752 Turnout Control Box which I had bought separately. Is there a way to use it on Marklin C Track? Thank you
Hi John, Not sure I entirely understand the question? This is Märklin C-track. If you are asking if it works with the Mobile Station 2 or Central Station 3, then you would be missing the correct connector/plug for the 72752. In this case the answer is no. Being creative I guess you could buy the 74492 turnout mechanism in START UP edition as these would connect to the 72752. Then you could cut the wire provided with the 72752 and try to figure out what is what. My guess is that it essentially is the traditional Märklin Red/Brown power somehow. But not sure as there are 4 pins in the plug & 4 wires between... Hmmmm - not sure this will work? Perhaps somebody else has tried? Enjoy ;-)

For the 72720 the manual does not give a good answer and I do not have a Märklin 72720 to test: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/22/bc/22bc84c98f94f78c5c7db5289e0874311660729862.pdf
