What an interesting question! Well, I certainly think that time boxing important questions/decisions and then holding a retrospective where you reflect on the success (or otherwise) of that decision is as important to friends and family as it is in business. I also think that prioritising your key decisions aka a backlog is as relevant to friends and family as it is anywhere else. Obtaining incremental performance works equally well. So yes, I think the fundamentals of Scrum work in a variety of situations. How about you?
