Connie Matisse is the co-founder and CMO of East Fork, a ceramics manufacturing company in Biltmore Village. With stores in Atlanta and Asheville and customers across the globe, East Fork's team of 95 employees makes and sells beautiful, durable plates, bowls, mugs, and more from regional materials.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Connie is the grandchild of Mexican union organizers and activists and the child of criminal defense attorneys. At East Fork she and her team attempt to transpose an agenda of radical compassion, care, and justice atop the realities and constraints of capitalism and white supremacy, while providing solid, sustainable middle-class jobs to their Asheville community.
