    Also, would put a little shut off valve in the line close to the engine. Love the red shirt…..

      ya...def need to add a shutoff valve...the only shutoff is back by the fuel tank, about 15 feet of line to drain, plus the racors

    Did Misha say that hose on the generator is not going to fail? ... feeling feisty and want to take on Poseidon? Cade, the DAP will work for a while. It would be better to have 4200 UV stabilized and a quick cure if possible. The DAP will get chalky in the sun but should be fine for a season (who knows, maybe longer). Hey and those comfort hounds are great to keep you warm when it is cold. Ready for the Bahamas yet?

    You can tell Cade is a military veteran. At 10.35, when Misha says about thick and stiff. Cades face just said it all...😅😅😅

    About infestation, use a sharpie to mark products and dates, remove all paper and cardboard from provisions and store in Tupperware. Eggs from ants, roaches and other pesty creatures hide their eggs in the folds and wrappers of all products from stores and street markets.

    With diesel engines it is a good idea to run them for long enough under load to get them to working temperature, and once there, then run them for 15 minutes to clean the carbon build up off so the engine stays nice and clean and happy internally. That usually takes about an hour, yes you use a bit more fuel, but helps maintain fuel efficiency and helps to avoid expensive tear downs, and gasket and seal replacements for decokes. Diesels just love being worked.Best Wishes. Bob. 🤔🌟🌟🌟👍⛵️❤️

    Common occurrence where a softer material screws up a supposedly tougher material. Any chafe will eventually destroy anything. Sometimes slow sometimes not.

      Ya, we didn't jump straight to fumigation, we tried the traps...and either they weren't working or weren't working fast enough.

    Cade….if you don’t start watching your motors often when they are running you are always going to have major problems…always… like everyday and every night 😵‍💫😵‍💫plastic hatch has been cracked for a while hmmmm,glad you didn’t break your foot or ankle or leg 😮or all three ☹️☹️

      ya, I try to watch them regularly to see how my belts are doing. That generator fuel leak was tough because I didn't even notice the water pump had shifted till I found the leak and then tried to figure out why that hose started rubbing.

    Hello… love your dogs.
    You issues are not a great advert for Hunter.

      Perhaps surprisingly to some, the Bunter CC models are about the best CC Sailboats you can get, and are the Only CC Sailboats that are comfortable enough for me to live on in the Tropics, and not be a Sweatshop Sauna down below. But as I can’t get on with CC boats anyway, and due to my disabilities they are actually a Safety Hazard for me, I’m sticking with Aft Cockpit Sailboats as they are actually at least as safe as CC designs, and for me, actually Safer, just fit Pad eyes and jack lines to clip into, and all is good.Best Wishes. Bob.🤔🌟🌟🌟👍❤️

      Hunters have always been crap boats. Cheap and flimsy since I first saw them in the 1970s. I would never own one. I just hope Cade and Misha stick to costal cruising and don't go offshore in FLOW.

    • @forloveofwind
      @forloveofwind  10 месяцев назад

      Hunters did have a bad reputation especially during the 80s, in the 90s they really rebounded in an attempt to repair that reputation, and until 2010 were pretty solid. FLOW has already been across the Atlantic twice (not by our hand) so I think she was capable at one time...we'll see if we can get her back that way.

    Don’t you think you should fix the leak before you clean out the bilge 🥴

    • @forloveofwind
      @forloveofwind  10 месяцев назад

      That was definitely the right thing to do. I originally thought it was only leaking while running, and I wanted to get the fuel out of the bilge before working around the engine. The way the hose was pressing on the fuel filter, it only seeped out unless the engine was running, meaning a much slower leak while just sitting there.
      Ultimately I did have to empty the bilge a second time after the repair, so ya, learned my lesson there.

    The filter wrench is the wrong size

    • @forloveofwind
      @forloveofwind  10 месяцев назад

      it was...but the rubber strap wrench is all sizes.

    • @Jolleseileren
      @Jolleseileren 10 месяцев назад

      If so, just wrap a cloth rag or so, around the filter to make the wrench fit.
