I have that exact flush valve that you show at 5:21 and my cistern has been excruciatingly slow to fill , I have also noticed water running into the toilet itself. Going to try reversing the washer and hopefully it solves the problem , thank you

The slow filling will be the ball valve pressure.

@@dereton33 does that mean I need to replace the inlet fill valve unit? I tried flipping over the washer in the flush valve but it didn't help. Thanks!

Is this what I need to replace to stop my loo from having a very slow, continual drip/trickle from the flush down the back of the pan? It is one with these push buttons….haven’t checked to see which sort yet ..
Trying to keep the limescale marks off is a nightmare, plus the water company count it as a ‘leak’ & keep sending me threatening letters saying I’ve got to deal with it (this is the only water leak in house, I’ve spent small fortune on plumbers checking for leaks in response to water company)
Thank you for your informative videos….very useful for someone who lives by herself to get stuff sorted

Yes it is what you need. Good luck with it.

Any tips/tools for isolating the water before starting. The ******* who installed mine originally but the isolation valve under the toilet and facing it. There is no way to get a normal screwdriver to turn it. I'm thinking my best option is to turn off the water at the stopcock.

    • @dereton33

      Yes main stopcock is best.

Pull out the buttons first there is a screw underneath.

Are the air push type just not worth it….mine busted some time ago and the BGas bloke just shut it off and gave a quote for a new box and all? £££ He couldn’t work it out otherwise.

The air push are the worse and it is usually best to renew the whole thing.

Is there any particular reason why a Plumber would use a water pump with a combi boiler? I thought that they come with water pumped integrated in them. As I had someone install one with one......

    • @dereton33

No not that I have herd of. They all come with pumps inside the case.

@@dereton33 Do you by any chance have an email address to show you a photo of it? I just wondered why he would do it. As it's a Logic combi2 C24 and has a grundfos tank that looks like a fish tank next to it - I presume it's a water pump.

Hey if I replace the fill loop on our condenser boiler does it need air bleeding in any way? Thinking it doesn't because when it was first fitted they left the fill loop off. And I think I remember they would fit it to repressure the water then take it off.
