Very nice video and relaxing music! When you're done with the rooftops and want to log off/do something else, make sure to do one final lap as in the video! You're always 'one mark behind' with this method, so doing an extra lap at the end (just b2b, no need to wait out a timer) will spawn another mark. Also you can mitigate the RNG aspect by, instead of doing single laps as in the video, *starting* a second lap each time. That way you can tell if a mog was spawned. If it didn't, just ignore your last lap, complete this one (make sure to have started the timer) and resume as normal. This costs a few seconds per lap but increases the MOGs/hr by quite a bit. Shoutout to alexd for coming up with this method.
After doing some testing of this on my own, there are a few technicalities I'd like to mention. A mark of grace actually spawns at the exact moment you exit the rooftop by finishing the final obstacle. You can see this by looking at your collection log (it will increment only at the moment you jump off the final obstacle). This is the point where you should begin your 2:15 minute timer. Then, for the next 2:15 minutes (I plan on testing the exact time further) a mark of grace cannot spawn from jumping/falling off the course. By waiting for 2:15 minutes, you are actually leaving a mark of grace on the floor while the cooldown period times out. I suspect you may be able to increase the rate of marks by timing your dismount to happen right after 2:15. I will try testing this out and update here if I find anything out. Edit: From further testing, falling off the course by failing an obstacle does not provide a chance to spawn a MoG (I have checked somewhere between 50-100 occurrences so far). Additionally, if you are performing some kind of world-hopping method, it appears that the cooldown timer is paused whenever you are logged out, so the few seconds you are not logged in during the world hop will likely mess up your timing. There is still much more testing to be done, but so far the timing (starting end ending at the time you jump off the final obstacle) is approximately 2 minutes 45 seconds for Canifis, and 2 minutes 27 seconds for Seer's.
I've been testing starting the timer at the XP Drop at the end of the Ardy course and this method has been far more consistent for me. >95% of the time I get a mark every lap.
The wiki has actually been updated with more information since I last commented. Upon spawning, Marks of Grace have a 3 minute cooldown before a new one can spawn. However, it is not an exact 180 second timer; it can spawn as soon as it's within the 1 minute window of a minute according to the world's server time (for example, if you get one at 2:01 PM, then it can spawn again at 2:04 PM). So technically they can spawn anywhere between 120-180 seconds, depending on where you are syncing with server time (with some exceptions; the ardy elite diary gives a 50% chance of the cooldown being 2 minutes, so it can technically spawn in 60-120 seconds, 50% of the time). To guarantee a chance at a MoG, without having to care about server time cycles, the best way is to make sure you get your end-of-course xp drop at an absolute minimum of 180 seconds between each other.
this actually works. on seers village im getting them every 2nd - 3rd lap after the 2:15 timer which is still a lot better then going 5-10 laps witout getting any
This does not work in Seer’s Village as of 2023. The instructions must be heavily modified and apparently depend on the status of your diaries which is not mentioned in this video. Following these instructions it takes 3-4 laps after waiting to get a mark, so this actually slows everything down even more.
It doesn't slow anything at all actually. It just stops you from running laps during the cooldown time that you cannot spawn marks of grace. those 2min15 seconds, could be used doing something else. It's min maxing potential marks of grace, not agility xp.

@@brodiebrushey you should be getting one every lap after the first two. We're not sure how not having the hard dairy affects the spawn rate, but there is an element of RNG.
