Himeko barely has much attention accept the English ver of her line in his boss to the start a bit it is sadly she didn't go with the Trailblazer to Amphoreus instead of Dan Heng...
Welt could understand Kevin. Even to insisting to Acheron that he wasn't a failure, and implying that, like all of us (former) Captains, Welt considers the final boss of HI3 as a hero. Of course he'd understand Sunday.
I'm loving seeing Sunday having a positive male role model in Welt, their interactions made me really happy. I'm glad he made his Penacony journey with Welt as a support. There's something so calm and reassuring about Welt. And it's nice to see that glimmers of the "Trustful Boy" is still there, because my Trailblazer tricked him into thinking massaging Pom-Pom was a normal thing to do 😅 I'm so sorry, Sunday, I had to do it. Besides, Pom-Pom could probably use the massage because they keep sleeping standing up 😅 I'm interested to see what you're going to think about Phainon. I get the feeling that under that perfect sunny puppy dog exterior, he's going to be really really complicated as Amphoreus progresses.
I've been feeling very strong about Sunday's character for the past few months, and your videos about him help me realize how his struggles reflect my own in a way. Playing 2.7 and seeing him allow himself to put aside his shame and depart means a lot to me, it's truly inspiring. Thank you for the insightful video and the resources!
Lmao thanks for making me cry again Anyway, another amazing Sunday analysis! Whether people love him or hate him, it can't be denied that Sunday is straight up one of the best Hoyoverse characters they've cooked up. I swear, out of all the characters in HSR, I think he has the most character analysis because of how complex and interesting he is as a character. I agree with one of the commenters here, he feels extremely human. As someone who is currently struggling a lot, I relate a lot to him and seeing him trying to change and grow has been extremely comforting and inspiring. Also Hoyo did such a good job with the Chicken Wing siblings in general. They really looked at the Kamisato and the Landau siblings and went, "what if we made it more tragic?" Their sibling dynamic, their parallels, it gives more depth to them especially with all the symbolism and analogies. Should we be expecting a third Sunday analysis after a couple more HSR updates? (insert Robin hiding her face with her wing sticker) Also, gotta say something that wasn't brough up which was Sunday's actions in 3.0 where he was constantly looking at Welt, like a child looking at his father for guidance or approval which I found super interesting.
Thank you!! Lots of good points here! I’m definitely planning to keep up with any major Sunday content; still haven’t completed 3.0 since I’ve heard it’s veryyy long but oh my god his dynamic with Welt is going to melt me
@@hadeserebus5006 I realized the Landaus, despite all they've gone through and their responsibilities to Belebog, both before and after the... descent of the Trailblazers, are surprisingly and pleasantly... normal. Which is endearing in a way, for me. I mean, the Kamisatos have so much... going on around them. But the Landaus are so... lucky.
Sunday's character is a major source of comfort to me right now because his own trauma is very similar to my own. Right now, a lot of complex things surrounding my trauma have resurfaced in my life, causing me to stop, acknowlege, and work through it in the hopes to finally begin healing from it. Seeing this video and hearing your breakdown of Sunday's own journey to healing from his trauma has helped me understand and hear in words a lot of the concepts I'm working through right now. It's very healing to me to see a character like Sunday written with all the same complex concepts that appear in my own life, inspiring me to push past my own guilt and find myself again now that I'm free from the mindset that once shackled me. This was posted with PERFECT timing because I've been working through this all over the past few days. Complex trauma like this is very much real, and seeing characters with similar experiences work through them and start an arduous journey of healing is so inspiring for people like me to do the same. Thank you for compiling such a thoughtful and well-made analysis about Sunday's journey with it!
SAME ME TOO Last year was especially hell for me Because I was in constant recovery mode because every time I felt better I got triggered severely that reset my progress over and over and seeing Sunday made me wake up to how my issues really are, and have sought how to help myself while I am unable to afford professional help. I wish you the best in your healing journey, you are not alone
Thank you for another great Sunday analysis, your thoughts and explanations are so well put together! Even though its a gacha game, the complexity and depth of Sunday's character goes so deep, there's just so many aspects that shape him and why he does and acts the way he is which is what I love about him and I'm glad that Hoyoverse really put in so much care into his character. When it comes to Sunday, it just feels like he's one of those characters you can't help but want to see more of to know what their future journey will be like. He's been through a lot already and seeing so much of what he's built his life for come crashing down and now having to learn to live among others for the first time in so long on top of now traveling with the same people he was once at odds with. It's so great that he's already forming a positive relationship with Welt, and traveling with the Express Crew will allow him to ease up and hopefully break down those defensive barriers he's set for himself maybe even starting to rediscover his old childlike self when being surrounded by a free spirited group that live in the moment while also deeply caring for one another. Those unfamiliar stars Sunday is so uneasy about will be how he learns to embrace life that isn't planned to perfection as he discovers the world outside of Penacony and witnesses the path of trailblazing for himself. Rambled a lot but I just love Sunday
Some spoilers to Welt's past I think Welt understands Sunday so well because it is a path he could've gone down. Welt went through a lot of trauma at a young age with the death of his father and father figure and becoming the Herrscher of Reason. He was a child expected to protect humanity while hearing the voices of 300 people shouting at him. Welt handled his trauma differently than Sunday, but he knows what it's like to put that weight on your shoulders.
sunday, our beloved... it has always been difficult for me to put into words why i adore sunday as much as i do. this character analysis perfectly explains why i find him so interesting and how oddly i am able to connect with him despite the differences, lmfao. love and appreciate the video!
OMG thank you so much for this and your previous analysis! I love Sunday so much. He is such a deep well written character and you do him justice in your analyses. I am glad that the developers added such character that many people can relate to, especially in current times where so many things happen in virtual reality and people create fake personas in the internet, being ashamed of their true selves. I love how you explore his sense of shame. There is this scene at the end of Soloist when he covers his eyes with his wings. Someone said that is a reference to seraphims covering their eyes in front of god because they are unworthy to look at him. It really feels this way here. I really want Robin and Sunday to meet someday and Robin to witness his change, maybe even fight side by side. It would be really cool. I am glad that Sunday had Welt as his kinda role model figure that he really never had. Welt is so understanding and he always stands by Sunday's side which is visible in his interactions with the Traiblazer in v3.0. I am really looking forward to more interactions between Sunday and Welt in the future. I also think it will be crucial for Sunday to meet other people who are strong willed and move forward despite obstacles. I really want him to meet Yanquing. There are pararells between them as they are both orphans raised by their mentors but there is a striking contrast in the way their mentors treated them which results in Yanquing becoming a young hero full of hope for the future and believing in his strength and Sunday who was treated as a tool and never could be himself of really believe in himself... Gods its so sad. But its also beautiful as we ca whitness his journey ourselves. I hope the hate Sunday receives won't faze the developers. He is an amazing character. I am so looking forward to see what roles he will play. One more thing. I find the fact that he can reflect on himself and understand that he needs knowledge and experience more than solitude very admirable. It only shows how wise he is and how much potential he has. Ahhh such an amazing character :D Again. Thank you so much for this video. Its a crazy amount of work. All the best for you! 🩷
Thank you for this video! I as well as some people in comments like Sunday, because he's similar to me (in a past). I knew it as long as I saw him in a story. At first, I thought that, maybe, I'm just projecting, but as story continued I realised I'm not. 😅 I know little about psychology, I didn't know a name for all of it and now after all those years thanks to you I do! I believe it'll help me with my healing (?) journey, because I'm going through it by myself with no support and help and with no clue, if what I was doing was right. Now I know that despite doing it using only intuition, very limited knowlage and what I think was right think to do, I'm doing a right thing. So, thank you very much for it and sources! (and thanks RUclips for recommendation so late at night 😉) Now I need to watch previous video for more insight (tomorow). 😉 I'll be wating for more content from now on, even if it takes long time.
"People cannot reject him if he never shows anyone his true personality. People cannot abandon him if he is their guiding figure when they are vulnerable. People cannot see flaws or emotions if he keeps appearances in perfect order." I did not realize upon clicking this video I would also be getting read to filth. I knew I related to Sunday, and for the most part why, but seeing it all laid out like this was a punch to the face (/pos) haha. This came at a wonderful time; I've spent the past few days cobbling together a character study of Sunday myself for a project I'm working on, and remembered your previous video that I had watched and loved. I was so surprised - and happy - to find this video recently uploaded when I went to go search for it again. It's just as spectacular as the first, and made me cry. I won't trauma dump in your comments, but I am currently on a journey of recovery and growth very similar to Sunday's. I think that might be why Sunday means so much to me as a character. I feel a bit silly projecting this much on a video game character, but seeing him take these first steps on his healing journey inspires me. Perhaps his successes can be mine as well. A life of avoidance is not a life worth living at all. I would love to see future character analysis videos from you on Alhaitham and Kaveh! Any characters, really. You're very talented and thoughtful in your work. Thank you for all the effort you put into making such a wonderful analysis video, not just for the analysis itself, but your writing, pacing, and editing. They're all excellent!
Wow! You wrote the same thing I wanted to write. :) I've started my recovery (?) years ago and without professional help it's hard and scary sometimes, but I want to be myself again so badly! This wish helps me to not give up. I believe in you! You can do it! :) And me too. ;)
MORE SUNDAY . MORE SUNDAY ANALYSIS. I love these analysis videos abt Sunday because it actually helps me see his character through a whole new perspective! As a literature student, the first thing we are told when analysing a character, never think of them as a person/human, more like a structure of sorts. But the best part about Sunday is that he feels extremely human, it’s difficult to see him as a “structure”. The way he’s written reminds me of a lot of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” , a character whose mentality is so complex that it actually feels like Hamlet is a real person (quoted from Harold Bloom) so when I think of Sunday, it’s so fascinating because he’s not just a character with traits thrown together. He’s very deep and intricate and he can be seen through more than one lens, just like Prince of Denmark Hamlet. Anyways, the point I’m trying to make admist all my yapping is, the psychological analysis and literary analysis of Sunday go hand in hand and that is was an AMAZING video 💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is such an interesting perspective to me! I learned analysis in a veryyy different way -- as game design studies are much more focused on how a piece makes the player feel. I think there's a ton of value in both styles but the grounded and fluid characters like you mention will always be my favorite just for how big the analysis rabbit hole goes and also for how much of a positive impact they can have on people. Thanks for both the yapping and support‼‼
Dude. Literally god BLESS you. This was absolutely amazing, the analysis is just so good, Sunday is such a misunderstood character and it honestly really sucks, thanking you with all my being this video left me foaming at my mouth🙏
the moment this video appeared on my recommended page I clicked on it immediately because after watching your last Sunday analysis I was really looking forward to your analysis of 2.7!!! and you are so incredibly on point as always. I love Sunday so much and you cut so deep and so accurately into him it makes me love him even MORE. After everything he has gone through I am so happy he has a person like Welt willing to be there for him and help him through his healing journey, he truly feels like the father figure he always needed but did not have in his entire life. again thank you and looking forward to more of your videos! Very interested in what you have to say about Alhaitham and Kaveh!
I watched your previous video too, and this one is just as good! Sunday was the reason I even started playing HSR and he's still one of my favourite characters. This is a really good look into him!
You know you've written an amazing character when you see so many character studies and analyses of them. Real talk, they're so many Sunday analyses I've seen on yt, it really shows how complex and well written he actually is compared to the other hsr characters. Not to say that the other hsr characters aren't as well written or as complex, but I know my words will get twisted one way or another
I love the analysis but can i just add to the editing, scripting and timing of everything at 33:21 really well done. The kysic swelling, it all hitting etc really helped getting the point across All in all amazing video again and you even gave me some.. well pointers to helping myself
That's such a good piece of research and such a well-made video. Thnak you so much, it was enlightening and understandable, even to someone that doesn't play HSR
I've sent your last video to ALL OF MY FRIENDS, you have no idea how much seeing this one get uploaded means to me. I love how you talk about psychology in fiction while not having the format of like, fifteen minutes max, a facecam and a reaction to scenes? It's not surface level in any way and shows both how much care went into some characters and how deep these connections to our lives can go, I hope I can start writing something that inspires the same in others, thank you so much!
I watched both your Sunday analysis videos, and boy did i cry during both of them. I love complex characters like Sunday so much, and to be able to understand it deeper really makes my love for these characters blossom even more. I was wondering, since Amphoreus is now out, at some point do you plan to do an analysis like this on Phainon? I understand how much time these things take to do and with the rate that Amphoreus quests will be finished it will take a long time to put together all of the information and research about Phainon that we'll have. I feel that he'll have a lot of character development, and actively develop trauma during the questlines, so it would be interesting to see a deep dive on him when or if the time comes. I really enjoy these videos, they let me process emotions I can't understand, and I love being able to understand my favorites.
It’s a bizarre feeling to have a friend tell you about a character who wants to make every day of the week Sunday, and someone who makes you solve puzzles to speak to him, then to watch an hour and a half of analysis and have yourself go, “He listens to and peddles his sister’s music?? He’s recovering from his shame and gaining feeling again?? Let’s go!!” As always, fascinating character dissection in both videos, almost makes me wanna try HSR myself. Keep it up!
alfeto valley night theme ⁉️oh and this was such a great analysis. i definitely didn’t catch a lot of these details myself, and honestly at this point sunday is one my favorites in the entire game which is NOT something i ever thought id say after completing penacony. one of my favorite bits of analysis you made was how “sunday appears professional but is truly immature” while “robin appears idealistic and silly but is truly mature” because it clicked so hard in my head, and it also conveniently is the same characterization of Nowi and Nah in Awakening which just…extremely boosts my love and appreciation for Robin and Sunday. guess im pulling him next rerun 😭😭
💯💯💯 That theme came on when I was on a walk and I IMMEDIATELY knew I had to use it. It's been nice to see you warm up to Sunday over the months though! I really need to play Awakening again...
another video of you explaining Sunday through a very thorough analysis of his complex trauma that is very similar to mine. I have never seen such an accurate representation of what I'm struggling with in fiction as much as he does. Thank you for making this video. It helps me navigate Sunday's and my own complexities. ❤
Going into the video with a 'complex trauma recovery huh, I wonder if that's complex as in not simple or complex trauma as in the actual term?' and then getting absolutely blasted by the realization of why 2.7 completely eviscerated me as much as it did even if I wasn't at the time as aware of why the Sunday side was impactful was sure something I wasn't expecting to have happen today. Pretty sure you completely nailed it here, because that got a bit... personal... at points. Especially interesting to see the similarities despite Sunday presenting more in line with OCPD/OCD and NPD which are not really presentations I have within myself (which is more AVPD). Will have to check out the original Sunday video for sure.
YESSSSS YESSSSSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also wanted to add that unfortunately, sunday as a character has been written in a way that parallels me and my own thought patterns to a point that is more than slightly terrifying. These videos you've done have made my own view on my internal thinking processes clearer, because through learning someone else in psychology's perspective on sunday, it's essentially like learning someone else's perspective on myself. Your videos on him are both so well-put-together and SO well-researched by the way, which I appreciate so much!!! Most other "analyses" irk me because, of course they're inherently based upon subjective perception, but many of them feel too far off into what I'd consider to be basically unfounded bias. Because your analyses have been so based in fact and arguments have been so well-supported, it builds such a strong foundation for your explanations of all of the causation and effects of sunday's extremely complex character. I really could not be any happier with anyone else's hypothetical analysis on this character because you completely nailed practically every point. Slight tangent, more related to myself than sunday but I didn't really structure it rigidly: I have never come across a character that feels so painfully true to life in everything that they do, and I don't know if that's to do with my own issues regarding how (again, like sunday) i have likely mentally separated myself from other possibilities of functioning, which in turn has made me feel like other characters are operating at some fantastical level, or that most characters in general don't feel this in-depth, ESPECIALLY not ones from a gacha game. I do live in fear that Hoyoverse is going to at some point begin to write him weirdly, or trash some or all of his development (this would absolutely devastate me for the rest of my life). Anyway, I did not have a point with this section. But I do want to say THANK YOU!!! for making this part 2 analysis. I wish everyone who says that they're a sunday fan would watch this and the Pt. 1 analysis, and actually sit there and comprehend it. Imagine a world where everyone has seen the objectively (joke) correct sunday analysis video set... What a world to live in. 🌅
I really like your point about characters being a way to view personal traits from a third person perspective - that’s part of why I’m so interested in this analysis style 👀 Thanks so much for always sticking around though!! It makes me happy to know these projects were helpful

Also, gotta say something that wasn't brough up which was Sunday's actions in 3.0 where he was constantly looking at Welt, like a child looking at his father for guidance or approval which I found super interesting.

SUNDAY THE SEQUEL YEESSSS
Edit: finished the video, I’m so glad this character exists, ironically taught me a lot
another phantomheit video another day of recontextualizing the entire way i look at myself
Oh, so that's why i like sunday, it's because he's literally me fr fr
This was an amazing analysis :D
The kysic swelling, it all hitting etc really helped getting the point across
All in all amazing video again and you even gave me some.. well pointers to helping myself
Sunday was right. Most people die too soon or live miserable life and people like trailblazers are heavy exceptions.
Omg it means a lot to me to hear that
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I watched both your Sunday analysis videos, and boy did i cry during both of them.
I really appreciate it
It’s a bizarre feeling to have a friend tell you about a character who wants to make every day of the week Sunday, and someone who makes you solve puzzles to speak to him, then to watch an hour and a half of analysis and have yourself go, “He listens to and peddles his sister’s music?? He’s recovering from his shame and gaining feeling again?? Let’s go!!” As always, fascinating character dissection in both videos, almost makes me wanna try HSR myself. Keep it up!
You better keep me updated if you do! Tysm as always 🫶
OMG I LOVED YOUR LAST VIDEO, I’M SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK!!!!!🔥🔥🔥
alfeto valley night theme ⁉️oh and this was such a great analysis. i definitely didn’t catch a lot of these details myself, and honestly at this point sunday is one my favorites in the entire game which is NOT something i ever thought id say after completing penacony. one of my favorite bits of analysis you made was how “sunday appears professional but is truly immature” while “robin appears idealistic and silly but is truly mature” because it clicked so hard in my head, and it also conveniently is the same characterization of Nowi and Nah in Awakening which just…extremely boosts my love and appreciation for Robin and Sunday.
guess im pulling him next rerun 😭😭
I’ve been looking forward to this since I saw the first one.
thank you, this was a great analysis on Sunday. you have solid media literacy skills
brought to tears several times during this video i hate sunday so much (lying)
YOU COOKED
Another banger 🙏🏼
Part 3 when? :’)
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
