In top down we analyze the index first then the sector then the stocks because the stock moves 40% by the index 40% by the sector and 20% by itself
We can simplify it in 40/40/20 rule for any stock in the stock market
So always prefer to go with trend of the higher time frame and select the nice stock for the best returns

I was trading in gold mini using 4 hr time frame with consistant profit( I found it to be most suitable for me), I wondered whether I should shift to daily or hourly candle as more people might use it..thanks for clarifying my doubt
