Cats also don’t play well in the first period and a half of games, halfway through the second is when the Cats start playing, so, watch for that in game 2. The Oilers are a super fast team, something the Cats haven’t really faced yet this year (maybe the Rangers is close), so, props on that. As you can see the Cats can shut down playmakers. We you a lot of high danger chances, but there were barely any rebound chances. I think we need to ramp up the intensity of we are cooked. The cats played their B game and still managed to impose their 3 zone pressure game. They're gonna be more like themselves in game 2 so Game2 for sure is gonna be crazy. Too bad we lost this one.

Kinda reminds me of the game 1 FLA vs BOS. FL played pretty bad after a long break waiting for BOS. They lost that game like 6-1 but they were able to win this one cause of Bob.
Other than the result, I’m quite pleased with tonight’s game. The Oilers were outplaying the Panthers. That’s an important fact and now only need to find ways to break their goalie. Also the Oilers could have won if they connected in front of the goals after exposing Panthers’ goalie and open nets were there so he’s not invincible.

It will hurt their confidence to discuss errors with them - but perhaps a good idea in the summer. Start by encouraging them to monitor the highest danger player, position, and expectation to close distance. They can learn by puck-watching, and not skating too hard, but by gently reviewing in summer will set them up for success. They get $12.75m so best to trust that they are a 'power pair', but introduce some ideas for future years.
