    Dont count your Chickens before they hatch, NEVER CELEBRATE BEFORE THE GAME IS WON. I was really frustrated in this game man, I was absolutely devastated for Stu. He played his heart out.

    Skinner was a gem! What the hell was with this team hanging him out to dry. Just watch how easy they let Carolina just skate into our zone, and they squeezed us in their zone. We are needing some defense so badly.

    Skinner played above his weight class, you can't put this on him at all. His team needs to help him out.

      💯 everybody rags on him when he lets in a questionable goal. He was outstanding today. Deserved better!

      Feel bad for Skinner? If you look at the game in a vacuum then of course but he was sub .860 save percentage coming into the game after several starts. It’s not good enough and it’s never been good enough.
      Not saying the oilers can’t win the cup with him as their goalie but it’ll be in spite of him but 9/10 he’s the second best goalie on the ice. No one wants to hear it but it’s the Alberta nepotism with players like him and Kulak who are both good but can be improved and with terrible contracts like Nurse and RNH the club are going to have to figure a way out to get the most out of 97’s tenure.
      Knoblauch might be in jeopardy if he can’t get results in the next dozen games

    I totally agree with you about Janmark. Skinner makes that amazing save then Janmark shoots the puck around the boards which was easily picked up by the Carolina defence and then boom in it goes!!

    You feel the same way about the wave as I do when the fans start getting on the other goalie. It always seems to make them play amazing and I hate it.

  • @dalriada
    @dalriada 6 часов назад +1

    McDavid showed that he can basically score on demand when he just shoots it himself. Why bother passing to his lesser lights? I know…I know. He’s being a good teammate and trying to jumpstart his wingers, but come on. Win the game first.
    Agree re: scratch Nurse. Let him ponder his future from the press box.

    Probbably not the best idea to give away all the youngsters. No speed and/or grit left at all.

    I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss ken holland already.
    While he did make mistakes, they are nowhere near as bad as bowmans so far.
    How do you take a cup contending team and completely purge it?
    This is absolutely nuts. I have no words for this anymore....

      It totally is his fault. We had a fully functional team that was ready for round 2 and he gave away all our assests for nothing.@@Paroseni.

    I'm gonna be honest... I can't watch the Oilers right now... I watch hockey to get away from my worldly stresses, and all they do right now is add to my stresses... I know it's just a game, and I shouldn't be so emotionally invested, but I just can't do that... If I don't want to be stressed about the Oilers, I just simply can't pay attention to them.

    +1 for nixing the wave.. not only is it annoying and shows people aren't paying attention, but it's distracting and disruptive for those that are watching the game...

    I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! I was concerned already at 2-1 goal and see no reason whatsoever for a wave, unless it is 8-1 as you said. Also, despite not trusting Stu, he was a rock in this game, agreed. However the problem you mention with the 'wave', is bigger in general in the North-American Sports-Culture, including unfortunately in the NHL and in Edmonton/Rogers Place. I do not see it as appropriate not even to have loud music DURING THE GAME and when the ref is stopping the game, IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE SPORT event, from the real-fan concentration on the game, to start with. Even much worse, the 'yelling young lady' in the Rogers Place in Edmonton, doing all sorts of funny/happy games when it is say 4-0 for the Jets, or even after they just scored she comes and yells about some happy game as if that is my happiest day of my life??? The show 'takes precedence' over the (real) FANs and PLAYERs who may be down, thinking, trying to get out of a pit in their thoughts and you bombard them with hard-rock and some happy 'game' in the 'stands'???

    as soon as i seen 97 29 2 on that last faceoff i knew it was over. they already played 3:30 of that OT ok ya lets put em out again and hope they dont breakdown defensively......oh crap. reality we didnt deserve the game it should have been 4/5 goals for carolina, how many wide open nets did they just miss like 3? Skinner sliding all over the ice out of position huge rebounds, he didnt lose it alone either not a single player played 60 minutes. This team has zero hitting or grind to them teams just walk around them and nobody fears board play, all show no grit.

    • @CarolinaBuckrush
      @CarolinaBuckrush 7 часов назад +1

      The Canes are great at cycling the puck for those wide open net opportunities and then flub them. They really need to work on their shooting.

    Oilers Defence was easy Pickens for elite Hurricanes group. Oilers might have to trade Jeff Skinner for a defenceman. Losing Holloway and Broberg and Ceci is proving costly.

    Ban the wave while also waiving Dermott, that tying goal was such a disgrace to hockey. Also we’re wasting 6.25 million dollars on this team with Nuge Oilers gotta learn get rid of your assets before they turn into a complete negative and all he’s done is refuse to move his feet so if he’s still struggling move him at the deadline. Sign Shattenkirk to a minimum.

    The entire hockey world outside of the oilers office (and some fans I guess) saw the need to bolster the defensive side of the game. What do they do? Well what they always do of course. Sign more forwards lol.
    Why can’t this team all play well at the same time? Skinner gets hot and the team lets him down.

    Aside from "the wave," the crowd taunting the goalie's name slowly is kinda bad luck. Unless the home team is up by 5 😁. Skinner surely silenced all the haters tonight.

    Putting inappropriate 'show' when Oilers are not doing well aside, I am starting to believe that the Oilers (Players) given last 2+ games where they can't show good hockey for more than ~30 minutes, shows that A) many are physically not top fit after last long season (despite declarations otherwise) and B) some are hurt, and the Oilers are hiding it still, such as Draisaitl, possibly McDavid, etc. We've been outskated heavily by the rest teams, most of them. Not talking about speed, overall physical combat.
