Allan Holdsworth + Frank Gambale + Brett Garsed = the Holy Trinity of fusion guitar.
Aussie, Aussie 🇦🇺🇦🇺 (well for Frank and Brett at least lol)
Greg howe!
@@zombielandakausa7468
G.Howe added the bluesy taste in fusion, so he must be mentioned with the 3 kings.
And Shawn lane?
Allan Holdsworth and Shawn Lane are the two best of all time in my opinion... no one else comes close. Love Garsed and Gambale though of course.
was talking to Brett today in the supermarket where I work, he's such an awesome humble guy
Castlemaine IGA?
What?
I love the way he speaks....so devoid of ego just a nice normal guy
Why have I never heard of this guy?! He’s amazing
But you have
Just listen to the John Farnham albums like The Voice etc
Brett was John's main Guitar player back in the day
@@josephbusuttil3030 I don't know who John Farnham is :| I'm American.
@@5urg3x he played with Nelson, and if you're into prog rock, hes played on several Derek sherinian/planet X albums
"this guy" is the best guitar player in the world
@@5urg3xnever heard of him either, and the more names people drop the more clueless I am 😂 but seeing this now is a gem
Probably the best guitarist ever.
@@zombielandakausa7468 Guitarists don't get any better than this. He's absolutely world class. I heard him play with Nelson around '90 or so. I wasn't into Nelson but this concert was on the tube so I said what the heck. His playing was so much more sophisticated than 99 percent of players I was hearing at the time. He's still better than 99 percent of the competition, and I'm talking 99 percent of the top tier of players.
"Probably the best guitarist ever."
Surely the most idiotic youtube comment ever.
Him and Shawn lane are unmatched
@@Minotauro_di_Chieti
Brett is truly a guitar giant. Also his incredible tone no matter the guitar iz phenomenal. Hewll I love the man.
One of the best guitar phrasing I've ever heard!
agreed
Tastful phrasing.. and no fret wrap like a real man
46:04 Crazy sweeps
1:10:28 Crazy legato
Brett is very underrated and overlooked
those hybrid picking sweeps tho
@@wildersound I know, right? How the hell he gets his pinky to work that smoothly in a hybrid picking scheme, I may never know. Don’t know what it is about ‘Straya & crazy good fusion shredders; must be some altered dominant arpeggios in the water down there or some shit.
It's amazing to me that a human can do that.
Fantastic guitar player and all round musician! Thank you, Brett.
The ending solos are astoundingly awesome
Mr Brett garsed is a real artist respect
yeah he's a monster
This shit is gold! Thank you to this person who uploaded this gold mine! What a genius Brett is.
Nelson band brought me here...
Such a phenominal, legendary guitar player! 😊🎸💕💕💕👍👍👍
Ive had th epleasure of meeting Brett, Absolute great bloke.
Brett is a badass
Brett is definitely my favourite guitar player. Big time fan of Knopfler, Gilmour, Rea, Joe Pass, Wes, Jeff Baxter as well as more modern players like Koch, Govan, Hutchings and others, but Brett has a style that is all his own and interesting (to my ears at least) beyond normal scales and licks. It's like riding a roller coaster....Highs, lows, a shite load of fun and can't wait to go for another ride.
I’m downloading this…I don’t trust copyright…don’t wanna lose this
He was my guitar teacher !
THIS MAN IS AMAZING.
One of the best ever.
Brett is a legend. I discovered him when Tom Quayle (another fantastic player) mentioned him in some video as one of his influences. I’ve been following both Tom and Brett for some time and honestly now I find 3 note per string generic “shred licks” so boring. When you hear anything by players like Brett you can feel like they’re trying to say something with their guitar. Its just like talking, a conversation, where there are short sentences, some long sentences, some breaks and pause here and there, some questions and their answers, it just feels so natural. It’s amazing!
Yes! The Roller Coaster Effect!!! I love it
22:53 SOUNDS LIKE Hunters and Prey - ANGRA
Truly one of a kind, and inspiring
28:00 is a phenomenal lesson.
Amo Sa' beu' nails
Holdsworth+Garsed+Lane+Gambale+Henderson+Mclaughlin+di Meola+B. Connors+G. Howe+ Kotzen+J. Watts+Macalpine+Helmerich+=GODS
Don’t forget Chris poland.
And Petrucci, Timmons... Who wants continue?
Wow...I just discovered him speechless
Soooooo smooth!!
Its like his fingers are gliding across a buttery neck, smooth man smooothh😮😮
13:05 the ‘all hammers’ technique
thats the toughest secret of legato.
no matter how hard u practice Tom Qyuale licks u wouldn't get the sound. I don't know why tom never mention this main ingredient in his playing.
@@RahulDas-zy6ut well he said in one of his free lesson, back when he was still with Dawson, he used combination of ho&po and from close up demonstration he clearly used both. I think he saves his ‘secret’ for the paid lesson.
Even Garsed himself said he still allows some pull off.
I tried the only ho and my fingers almost fell off haha but when I got it right it did sound good. But it was too much work so I went back with Satch type legato, or ho&po if you’re Marshall Harrison’s devotees haha jk
@@iganpparamarta8813 i have tom's paid dvd too. but he said nothing about it.
hihihi no no not all. am not his devotee. but i love this sound. most modern guitar players are using this legato nowadays
@iganpparamarta8813
It took me a couple months to achieve it.
You can then add in varying degrees of po if desired...at lower tempos it can be a bit tricky to get the velocity from ho, but possible.
The most difficult ho is pure ascending on a single string then pure descending on that same string. Practice that ho slowly to gain beast mode!
Wow this dude is a monster
Oh that break at 34 mins is just nasty maaaite!
Reminds me of Chris Poland. Just beautiful.
Watched this several times 🤟🤟🤟
33:53 and onward..........jesus....christ. Brett is really underrated! Yngwie who!?
dsargent724 Love brett more than yngwie..but their musical style is very diff and both has inspired many muscians ..

marcelo paolucci Why is Allan crossed out? Shawn Lane has been dead a while.. he's still there. Just curious! :-)
Scott is really nice guy too
Australia has the best guitarists, gambale, Tommy Emmanuel, Angus Young, this fellow, John Williams
Neiri wasn't even born when Brett playd like this
Marshall Harrison sent me here
God himself
@@zombielandakausa7468 I never heard Harrison take credit. He just pushes the technique. He talks about Garsed all the time so I doubt he is trying to hide anything .
@@zombielandakausa7468" he said he created this style"
Where?
great upload
has anybody actually tried to play the content according to the booklet? it seems like
parts of the licks are missing.
Brett is a real Gun player.
SALUDOS DESDE LIMA PERÚ
Super !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9:30 filling in scale bland with chromatics
This kid could really go places if he sticks with it
Amazing stuff, has anyone got the tab for the examples?
guitar hero!
Great guitarrist!
If you told my 8-10 year old dumbass beavis and butthead watching mind that brett garsed of fking Nelson was on one the best guitarists ever i probably would have pissed myself. Aint no lie, ive been following brett for like 3 years now tho and what a fricking legend. And seems like such a nice mate
Where can I find those live performances???
29:00
1:01:54 Ight Imma Head Out
He is an amazing player
Maybe Tom Quayle learnt a lot hybrid pickings from this guy.. just my opinion
On numerous occasions Tom has cited Brett as one of his key influences in the development of his technique, alongside Greg Howe.
Maybe Tom Quayle mentions Brett Garsed as one of his biggest influences on his website. Just my opinion.
but although tom uses "all hammer on" technique. he never mentions it
First song reminds me of gta 3 intro
Is this the only instructional he's done cause I Could learn so much from brett hes a legend
22:13
Guthrie brought me here. And now I love his music ❤ Can someone help me with the song name that he plays in the intro of the video, Thank You in Advance....
'A musical oasis awaits us', from the album Quid Pro Quo
Nick Johnston wrote an email to this guy.
Does anyone have the PDF booklet? If you do please let me know.
Ted Stryker fuck off, all rockers owned and own bootlegs, even Lars 😉
Which is that last second song he played
respect .
Does anyone know the name of the tune he's playing in the beginning, it's great!!!
A Musical Oasis Awaits Us
👍
9:35
what does he do for descending 4nps legato lines? so he picks the first 2 notes and then? does he use pull-offs for the other 2notes, or reverse-hammers? thanks
i think it is a case of hammering on the lower notes. Dont think he does a lot of 'pull off's' as such.
no pull offs is the secret
what a honey
1:10:21
Rambo himself.
What's the brand of his guitar?
Steinberger
What kind of guitar is that ?
God sent me... here. Who’s your gravity daddy?
The old book in front of the face trick
If only it was a little higher rez. Otherwise - fantastic!
Holdsworth concept
38:06 Buckethead and Shaw lane style atonal licks.
Israel tanker the great Tj helmrich
anyone know the name of the first tune ?
"Elektro-Liquid" Lick(s), from "Fused-Oto-GrandMaster", Brett Garsed....!!
They really went all-out on the opening backdrop, eh?
1:06:43
Anybody knows the name of the song beginning at 40:40?
"megan" from qui pro quo album (brett garsed and tj helmerich)
Not unless they do the latin groove for a live-only version of Megan. 40:40 Sounds nothing like the studio version of Megan.
It may be song off one of Bobby Rock's albums. They played at Bobby's drum clinics.
From Brett himself, it's actually the solo section of their version of "YYZ" by Rush.
DIEGO DEL GASTOR
WHAT GUITAR IS THAT?
Steinberger GS
