    Funny thing was that for the first 4 years of having type 2 diabetes, I ate the recommended high carb low fat diet... and my A1C skyrocketed to over 9, despite all of the meds they put me on. Then I tried the low carb diet (few starches and sugars), and it dropped to the 5.4 to 6.3 range. And was able to get off the meds. Then I had bariatric surgery to lose weight... Since then I have cut out as many seed oils as I could, ignoring monounsaturated fats and saturated fats, as they generally pass right through me as I try to eat the protein I need daily. The fat passing through me has eliminated the constipation issues I have had for decades. As I have been able to eat more foods... without them coming back up... only ground meat, I can eat cooked peppers, onions and broccoli after several years, although most leafy veggies need blended first... forget ANYTHING fibrous or stringy. I can finally eat almonds, peanuts and walnuts -- minimal ingredients (ie dry roasted peanuts are peanuts and salt only)... I do eat unsweetened bakers chocolate...

      vagus nerve was damaged with bariatric surgery. As a diabetic from childhood, the "meds they gave you" was not going to change the food addiction and stress we have.

    I went on low carb which we were eating between 50-100 carbohydrates and my husband and I did that since 2020 and reversed diabetes in 6 months - from a1c 6.8 to a1c 5.7 and arthritis 90 % better in a year and half and we both lost 70 lbs .
    Then a year and 3 months ago we went to carnivore eating which is eating meat and meat products with higher animal fats so it is a ketogenic lifestyle.
    WithIn 2 1/2 months my husband got off of his insulin medication, He’s lost 55 more lbs and I’ve lost 10 lbs and our blood pressure is much lower and we hope to start getting off of that this next year .
    With carnivore the anxiety and depression and brain fog have been alleviated over 90% and we are becoming stronger and healthier and feeling better.
    The nerve or muscle strength in my husband’s hand came back and his hand can open jars and bottles again after 2 weeks.
    After 3 weeks on carnivore we began sleeping better also.

      @ If you’re interested look up Rick the 40 year carnivore who fries heart atttack chicken to get a heart attack first years but as a young man he only ate meat and it helped him grow to about 6’5. he didn’t like sugar or vegetables he ate only meat, and is very healthy today. Look up Dr. Ken Berry a family practitioner he teaches on keto and carnivore . Also check out Dr. Chaffee’s channel, he’s been doing this for about 20 years since college and seen terrific results and healing from all diseases . And Dave Mac @ carb life who does 2 videos a day of people healing from diseases with carnivore .

      @ Studies have shown that heart attacks are caused by high triglycerides and carnivore lowers triglycerides greatly. Five of our organs need cholesterol and our brain is made of cholesterol.
      Lee from Kent, England has a colostomy bag and when eating a regular diet he saw how his vegetables did not get digested and now as a carnivore he sees all meat gets digested. He was told to eat more and more fiber until it made him so sick he had to have a colostomy bag . Hope this helps someone.

    What he is saying if you eat high carbs and high fat that's bad. True. If you eat that way all day long you are in trouble.
    I prefer high fat and almost no carbs. When I eat carbs glucose goes up and I'm tired. When I eat fat and protein my CGM barely moves and I am full of energy. Either way you cannot over eat or eat too often.

    I have tried both Keto and Plant based low fat. I found that I could not sustain the low amount of carbs after about 3 yrs. I was missing out on so much delicious food. I started craving summer fruits and potatoes, etc. So I switched to his diet. I read his book and watched many of his videos. Another reason to eat high carbs is to absorb all the nutrients. My red blood cells were very deficient in minerals and vitamins on the low-carb diet. I am a 73 yr old female. I started to be more concerned with getting dementia or cancer than before. I knew that I can give myself a longer healthy life without eating animal products anymore. My blood sugar is normal now. I can live without animal products the rest of my life because of all the amazing foods I can eat instead. I have been insulin resistant my ŵhole life. Thank you Cyrus.

    If ffa are affecting the glut4 pathway then surely cutting out carbs which is instantly removing the insulin spikes and reducing energy intake also switching the body to run on ketones and switching the body from fat storage mode to fat burning will effectively remove the excess ffa in the cells that are causing the insulin resistance. Sugars feed bacteria, viruses, yeast and fungi so you will also be helping any inflammation caused by them.
    Remember a calorie eaten is not a calorie eaten because of the way that calorie is metabolised. The body uses more energy to metabolise proteins than glucose.

    Been a nurse and patient for a long time....every organ system has been misunderstood, every "speciality" is ignorant, and it's more the meds than the disease that cause the damage (if some one is eating well, managing stress, working on anxiety, healing trauma (see Dr Gabor Mate), removing fungi, fixing c spine issues that lead to vagus nerve problems which runs through entire body...it's criminal to have such limited education from the top. Diabetes surely is the hardest of diseases...whatever you put in your mouth or not, exercise or no, stress or not, etc. It is wicked. And they knew .

    There is cognitive dissonance here. A question: how do you raise serum triglycerides more than anything else? Answer: eat a high carb diet!! (That happens because in the presence of excess glucose in the liver, the liver produces lots of saturated fatty acids via de novo lipogenesis- the Palmitic acid that this guest hates so much) I wonder whether the REAL issue is more focussed on sustained overall excess consumption of calorific food. That would suggest fasting and more exercise would be a powerful option. If the host agrees with the guest, there are zero probing questions………… Science is about challenging a hypothesis

    • @Theabok853
      @Theabok853 22 дня назад

      @davenockels5028
      I think he implied that De novo lipogenesis can only occur if only if insulin receptor becomes non responsive due to Saturated fat lipid droplet in visceral organs .Absent of that pathology the receptor of insulin or its pathway are so efficient in utilizing glucose upstream and downstream of glucose breakdown pathway so as to avoid De novo lipogenesis as the high carbs does not sit in the blood longer to trigger that lipid making pathway from sitting carbs
