There is so much happening this time of year and nature is still very much alive and beautiful! Today I will take you on a beautiful walk as I forage for some Sloe berries and also make a wonderful syrup with them. I also have alot of Autumn and Winter preparations to finish off like straining my medicinal honeys and hanging herbs to dry. It really feels like a time of alot of beautiful transitions as we slowly head into the colder months. Come along with me :) All my love, Lika xx ~For the Sloe Berry Syrup: -500g sloe berries -500g sugar (this amount helps to keep it from spoiling) - juice of 1 lemon 1)Put the berries into a pan and cover with water. Boil for around 15 - 20 mins or until the berries are very soft and the water is a deep red/purple colour. 2)Allow the mixture to strain through a sive or cheesecloth into a bowl for a few hours or overnight. 3)Pour the strained mixture into a pan and add the lemon juice and sugar. Simmer this for around 10 - 15mins until the sugar has fully dissolved. 4)Pour the syrup into a sterilised jar or container and store in the fridge. For longer term storage, you can use the water bath canning method and can your syrup. Enjoy!
Good Morning Lika! Your home look so beautiful and Tranquil. Right now my own home is a chaos zone but I am slowly tranforming it into a Tranquil Sanctuary filled with Love, Harmony, Joy and Laughter! And Sloe Berry Bushes are growing in droves here on the Swedish West Coast, but there are no longer berries growing on them at this time of the year... It's a bit to late now. Here we pick them mostly in August and September. Sending lots of Love from Sweden 💖🤗🌿🍄🍂🍄
Enjoy your time at home this October holiday. Lovely to see how the infused honeys are coming on. I made my first one with elderberries and will definitely try the others. My elderberries were fresh from the garden and I pulled the berries away from the stems with a fork, then infused them in the honey. I like the berries whole so I just spoon it onto porridge as it is. Thought I would share in case others have fresh elderberries to use.
Thank you for this lovely video and I do hope you enjoy your time with family and nature. I spent part of my day making your fire cider recipe and appreciate you for inspiring me to do this for the first time. I am also experiencing a similar transition as you and find that time in nature, creating homemade tinctures and the like, and spending time with like minded souls is very healing. May it be so for you! 💚
