The royal flush happens @ 32:07 in case anybody stopped watching before that. I've had 5 royal flushes in my life using two cards, this is the only time I've ever seen one dealt on board and I'm nearly certain that I'll never see it happen again; I've actually only heard of it happening two other times. Unfortunately it happened on a day that I only planned to document on IG and Twitter, which is why the shot was filmed vertically. Here's a link to the Tweet for a slightly longer clip, there's not much more here though either: twitter.com/TheBradOwen/status/1500595493616996365?s=20&t=ptm-kGRHyuN1-qXCP2EIYQ
I once saw a royal flush dealt for the community cards in a PLO game online. It was obvious that one player either didn't understand Omaha or temporarily forgot the two card rule because he lost his entire stack (~$1700) with nothing to the other player's 9-7 "nut flush". There wasn't really much action on the flop or the turn, but it went all in on the river. I can't really reconstruct the action, but clearly he thought he was calling for a chop.
About 10yrs ago probably now ,3 handed in home game sit n go n I'm.dealer ,fold absolute rags on button n it goes limp ,check 0 action on flop turn n river as I proceed to deal out a royal on board lol
I just started watching and hear you mention it's a long episode. Brad, even if you make a 10days long video, I'll watch it. By far the best poker content I've ever seen.
Brad you should never have to apologize for having a long episode with so many great hands. It’s what we want to see!!! Personally I like the longer videos!
Thanks for having me out to Austin Brad! It was a great trip. Awesome Vlog!! I had the most fun I've ever had playing poker at The Lodge. Next time, we have to find more good comedy shows. Any suggestions anyone?
I was the other player in the double board bomb pot hand with Mr. Owens. I agree that the mistake was unfortunate and an honest and easy mistake by the dealer and other players. Reading double board PLO bomb pots is tough. I agree that everyone was distracted by the 3 sixes in his hand. However, I would like to clarify a small but important point. After the 3rd party player (his name is Hai and he is a true gentleman and great all around person) brought up the fact that he believed that Brad had the winning flush, Brad and I agreed to just have the floor check the overhead cameras so we could simply and efficiently figure out if a mistake had been made. Usually when this occurs, play is stopped because you cannot continue play with chips in a stack that may not belong there (for example, if play is not stopped, what happens if I were to lose all of my chips on the next hand? Trying to rectify the mistake would be compounded many times over. And with the way I play, it was a distinct possibility.) However, instead, I just set the disputed amount of chips to the side and continued play. The unusual thing is that checking the cameras usually takes 3-5 minutes. However, in this case, about 15 minutes had passed and I think both Brad and I were getting nervous and wanted the issue resolved. So finally, Brad pulled out his phone and since he Vlogs, he showed me a picture of his tabled hand (nut spades) and after I made a photoshop joke, I quickly shipped him half the pot, no questions asked. This is where it gets interesting. After all of this, the floor finally came over and sheepishly admitted that for some reason, the camera did not pick up his cards and he could not definitively say what cards Brad had tabled. I told the floorman not to worry about it because it was resolved between the two of us. However, if Brad had not been a Vlogger, I don't think he gets half that pot back. Because while I consider myself to be a fair person, I am never shipping that pot over to him based on the recollection of player(s) at the table, 5 minutes after the hand is over. However, it raised the interesting hypothetical of what would have happened if the floor had come to us prior to us resolving the issue and told us about the camera issue. I discussed this hypothetical with some fellow poker enthusiast friends and I wonder what the proper ruling would have been if I had decided to not split the pot. The room's cameras did not read his cards. But he had taken his own video of the hand showing he had a winner. I think that the ruling would have been to split the pot but what does the chat think the proper ruling should be in that situation? Also, what would the chat do if faced with a similar situation where the opposing player has evidence of his/her hand but the poker room does not? Good, interesting questions.
That's a really interesting situation. Even if the floor decides to accept the video evidence, they can't force you to hand over the chips though, best they can do is bar you if you decide to keep the chips.
Personally you need(at least you should) to be bankrolled to play so losing a pot / half pot should never be issue. It's way more important to be as fair and honest as you can in any such situation, if you can get and keep solid reputation people will like you more and want to play with you; but if you swindle even once and poker room and everyone knows it... you can easily get banned and at the very least shunned upon. Everyone should just remember that whatever is happening in the moment, will pass by soon and your future always hangs in balance. For poker rooms part, they probably have rules set up somewhere that try to cover most of disputes. As long as they'd follow their set rules, I would be reasonably ok with whatever decision comes out. If I don't like the rules, then I'd play somewhere else. Naturally rules are there to ensure fairness so usually there should be no problems.
Firstly, kudos to you for doing the right thing, i hope it translates to rungood for you in the future! Regarding the bombpot, i think ultimately it's on the dealer to call and end action and the table talk made her misread the hands being played (in her defense everyone at the table misread the hand because of the 6's) but as it is her job i think ultimately it falls on her calling the bottom board too early. The cage not catching the board is super strange though, it's a big security flaw and if something like in your scenario were to happen it could really damage the trust players have with the poker room.
@@megacheese I should have made this clear in my earlier reply. I am not critical of anyone involved. The dealer made an honest and easy mistake, double board PLO bomb pots are sometimes tough to read; in fact, many very seasoned poker players all missed it at the table. Everyone makes mistakes and she is a great dealer who I have never seen make errors like that before or after, and I play there a lot. Kudos to Hai for noticing the error and speaking up. Kudos to Brad who handled it like a gentleman and was not demanding or aggressive about it. He makes a point to tell every player that leaves his table that he enjoyed playing with them and wishes them well. And the Lodge is a top notch card room. Their floor makes good fair rulings and their dealers/employees are always professional and polite. It is by far the best place to play in Austin and I have played in all of the rooms here. It was just an unfortunate situation that ended in a very fair manner, IMHO.

Brad, I love your videos and i already started playing poker online, but somehow everyone missing your flush on that dbl omaha hand really encouraged me somehow.
My brother just told me about your channel yesterday. This is the most interesting poker vlog ever. I'm looking forward to bringing your content. You have a new subscriber!
I've actually had 2 royal flushes in my life. One of them hitting it on the Flop! I almost flipped out of my chair after two people re-raised me before the flop and I'm sitting with AK of spades... It was an insane hand for sure.
Spade royal is up to 9K on the Monte Carlo at the casino I play live at. I've had one royal in a home game and another online. Congrats on two especially with people raising. I've had one against me when I had a flush, I shove, opponent calls show royal. Crazy how poker works. You play exactly how you should and lose and when you fold shit cards they hit. I'm in a rut lately getting my ass handed to me but it will come back around for me
I almost had my first last week. I had AKhearts flop QJ6 all hearts. A guy lead into me on the flop, which you gotta love. We get it all in on turn. He flips over 89 hearts and says "I at least have to have the ten of hearts as an out." "No, you don't." Royal didn't come. If it had come wouldda been a little sick since the room doesn't have a bad beat jackpot.
A few years ago I got a royal flush in back-to-back weeks at a friendly home game. The 2nd RF I had the Ace with the other four cards on the board while my opponent had the 9 to complete his straight flush. Needless to say that was a bad beat for him.
I’ve w been watching for a a week and it’s helped me step up my game at home in fun poker games and I feel like I’m super ready to hit the casinos when I turn 21
Let’s go Brad! First time I hit a royal flush in live poker, I hit quad jacks the very next hand! That was 2 years ago, and have went bankrupt ever since…. I should really quit poker. 😅 Keep it up on the felt! (I didn’t really go bankrupt.)
Jeeeez mike i had the same about 6 years ago. Hit royal in diamonds on the turn, then next hand hit quads jacks. Even more crazy is 2nd hand after jacks, the dude i beat with jacks hit straight flush. Was wild 3 of 4 hands. My name is mike also.
@@jacksonmehoff4963 Haha what a strange coincidence! I host a $.50/$1 cash game once a month, dealers choice. The Royal hand happened to be runner runner for me in Omaha when I flopped too pair, with a gut shot and back door diamond draw. The quads hand was in Texas hold ‘em. Just so happened to be played against the two players that call me down the lightest of our group and happened to get paid on both of them. Hope you did too!
WOW...... Most misleading, clickbait thumbnail EVER! and i'm gonna just show a royal... with no storry, no play by play, no winning report.... "And on a side note... a royal flush happened.... moving on!"
Awesome video as always! Only been following you for a couple months but I probably watched most of your vlogs at this point, they're so addicting.I can't wait to make it out there to the lodge some day. Please make my day with a reply :)
Been playing about 25 years starting with 7 card stud. Took me 15+ years to start playing correctly. Love watching your vlog. I'm still not ready to play the large levels. I'm a better tournament player than cash. My online game is best. Keep the lessons coming!
I'm sure it's really difficult to do, but is it possible to give a rough +/- dollar number of your stack during the sessions on screen after each hand? I know they are pretty wild swings and the numbers won't be accurate but might be interesting to see analysis wise. Thanks Brad!
I might be wrong and probably am but on the one PLO hand (7:10) it didnt appear the dealer burned a card on the turn for the bottom board. ?? Is that not how PLO works?
I understand it can be difficult to read PLO double boards, but there's no excuse for that dealer to have pushed thousands of dollars in the wrong direction, and I wouldn't want to take my business to a place where that can happen.
Love your videos they taught me a lot I have only played two casual tournaments and I broke even with low placing in both mainly thanks to what I learned here, so thanks I think I have had a good intro to the game.
You have really helped my poker game! I still like to bluff but I choose my spots a little more carefully by trying to put other people on hands, not just what I have. I definitely look for your new vlog, before I watch anything else on my lunch break. One question I have for you is, how is the best way to deal with the players who seem to call my bluffs with only Ace high hands and win? I call them Sheriffs.
well done only hit a royal once in Fla. Im finishing building my new overland truck and should be rolling out next week coming straight to the lodge, for real.
I've only had 3 Royals in Live play in a 30 year period but I know I dont play nearly as much as you do.. Keep em coming Love the content and the analysis
Hi, I was also confused, i think its because you can only use any 2 cards for any board, so he had 3 6's in hand and had to use two on the top board, and then the Ace 6 on the other.

“Had you the whole way” then it got even better for Brad HAHA I wish he called
Congratulations on finally booking a W at the Vlodge 😜 let me just say that I love love love your videos, following you about a year and a half and I can't get enough ! Lots of love from a German in Scotland 🤷🏽♂️
When was the Royal Flush?
comment it pls
I didn't see it either after going through the video a few times. I think he used the wrong title on this video. He didn't have kings full either.

The analysis at 13:00 is why you make the big bucks man. Good stuff
I wonder if brad makes these comical jokes when he’s out with his friends 😂 these voiceovers are hilarious
they aren’t hilarious it’s dead humor you can tell brad is depressed lol
I do, gf hates them
@@BradOwenPoker lol love or hate relationship sounds about right!
@@dontworryabit9128 there's nothing funny about depression. I hate the fact that it's become fashionable to be 'depressed'.
Real depression is one the scariest thing to experience.
@@yommmrr oh yeah? tell me what real depression is then.
brad great vlog love it always, for those who cant watch 30 mins + can watch @ 125% speed
That was awesome I've always wished to learn how to play poker like you guys do it's been a long time I doubt that I'll ever get there thanks for sharing 😉
Thank you man. And thanks to your brother as well.
First vid in recommended every upload. Keep it going Brad👊
Don't lie
A few years ago I got a royal flush in back-to-back weeks at a friendly home game. The 2nd RF I had the Ace with the other four cards on the board while my opponent had the 9 to complete his straight flush. Needless to say that was a bad beat for him.
Probably your best blog yet.
Where is the royal flush ? I've gone through the whole video .
very end it was a board royal flush
31:50
Love the quick vid uploads. Love the content.
Did I miss the royal flush? Watched the video start to finish.
It's right right right at the end 32:00
32:07 Timestamp
Yeah that was a slow roll - the royal flush was on the board, too!
WOW...... Most misleading, clickbait thumbnail EVER! and i'm gonna just show a royal... with no storry, no play by play, no winning report.... "And on a side note... a royal flush happened.... moving on!"
@@Xaywynn “most clickbait thumbnail ever”? Is this your first day on RUclips? :) yeah it’s rare to see one but he would have labeled it better
Long live the 30+min poker vlogs!
Brad I literally get so excited every single time you release a new video, you brang back the love of poker for me
Was I the only one screaming at my phone about the flush before Brad got to it? 😂
NO! I was flipping out the entire time.
@@DinsAFK he had AJ58, board was 36789 so 58 makes a 9high straight
Love the fair play at 9:30. Good friendly poker
Well looks like I’m taking a 35 minute dump
I might be wrong and probably am but on the one PLO hand (7:10) it didnt appear the dealer burned a card on the turn for the bottom board. ?? Is that not how PLO works?
I understand it can be difficult to read PLO double boards, but there's no excuse for that dealer to have pushed thousands of dollars in the wrong direction, and I wouldn't want to take my business to a place where that can happen.
Pratt
it could happen anywhere. you can't not go anywhere
Thanks for the books! You’re great, man
The longer the vlog the more I get to learn from the best. Thank you Brad!
Love your videos they taught me a lot I have only played two casual tournaments and I broke even with low placing in both mainly thanks to what I learned here, so thanks I think I have had a good intro to the game.
can someone tell's me when did the royal flash happened? lol I watched the video twice now but still didnt catch it
It was the board cards at 32 minutes
@@jusjerm lol thanks. I didnt went to the last part my bad haha
I must say I really enjoy the episodes you make that are long.
Im a simple man. When brad uploads I watch.
love the long videos! kudos for editing a 34min video.
I love this long format videos 🚀🤙♥️
Love the channel Brad!
i saw the title and i had to watch this. Great content man!
My favorite youtuber to watch on RUclips
Such a fan of these videos I always hit the like button before I even watch the video
Guarantee this will be a top viewed video on your YT. Keep up the hard work💪👍
Wow awesome blog brother! Probably the best!!!
Bro, the commentary is legendary. 🤣🤣🤣
Idk why but I like the time at the top right corner 🤷🏾♂️😂
Woke up 5 minutes ago and said “hey I hope there’s a new Bradley vlog”
Haven’t watched the video yet, but I’m stinking pumped to catch it this early. Huge fan mister Owen!
Longer episodes are the best bro, could watch all day
A long episode is not a problem, love the content
I watched the whole thing. The royal flush was where?
Great comeback brad!
This Lyft guy be posting everywhere!
I've only had 3 Royals in Live play in a 30 year period but I know I dont play nearly as much as you do.. Keep em coming Love the content and the analysis
I'm all in for longer videos... 🤙
I can think of almost 570k reasons why the video length doesn’t matter! We are here for the ride and congrats on the W!
the longer the better!! love your vlogs... always waiting impatiently for the next one... keep it up!
7:57 hold up I'm confused, in this case don't you have full house on the top and quads on the bottom or is it a completely different rule?
Hi,
I was also confused, i think its because you can only use any 2 cards for any board, so he had 3 6's in hand and had to use two on the top board, and then the Ace 6 on the other.
Been here since Vlog 1. Thanks Brad
Time to put that office together! Keep up the good work my friend.
