Five year later your video is still making the difference for auto repair newbies like me. Excellent video with everything I needed to replace both side..
I was wondering how to get access to the bolt that was more or less blocked by the sway bar and this video answers it perfectly. I will be replacing both and the end links this weekend.
Love the simple explanations and the camera angles. Panning wide and then narrow helps to pinpoint where to look. DIY people benefit from that. Thank you!
My next project as soon as all this rain passes here in NorCal Bay Area. I was looking and planning my attack on that area tonight in my garage for my 2010 Ody and it didn't seem that hard at all. This video confirms how easy it is. Thanks bro.
This is the best video I have seen about the replacement of the control arm and ball joint I have seen other videos where they take almost everything apart to replace the ball joint I think replacing the all control arm with the ball joint together is way easy than just replacing the ball joint it's a little more expensive but I think it's worth it saves a lot a time and then you still have to buy the tools to press the ball joint out that's over $100.00 right there when I can buy the all control arm with the ball joint for $125.00.
Great resource - I just did drivers side axle and both lower control arms- gotta say I struggled for quite a while getting the new ones in- sure I missed some element of technique! But your videos helped a ton, thank you Mr Ranger!!
Just did this job... some input: The ball joint separator tool works great just be very careful when tightening it... It can pop it off very suddenly and violently. For a second I thought I broke my arm! Made the mistake of completely removing the bolt, should leave it on to prevent my issue. Take the protecter plastic piece off the new control arm at the ball joint before installing (Yes, I'm a dumbass). Might need to use the floor jack at the back of the control arm to help get the screw holes aligned.
*** URGENT*** Do I have to do the alignment after replacement the right front control arm? Thank you so much for this amazing video. Please reply to my question ASAP I am going to perform this work very soon… My other question is it mandatory to replacement both front control when in the passenger side one is defective. I want to replace the one that I see some damage in it. It’s right ?

Hey brother I just replaced a lower ball joint on my honda accord and I can't get the whole casle nut on enough to put the pin in there do I need to put weight on the car to seat it enough to tighten it up again?
Awsome. If I may suggest, could you please inform the torque tightening in other units, like kg.m or N.m? It would be easier for us who uses the metric system. Tks man!
MrRangerZr1: How have these Mevotech LCAs held up over the last year and a half or so? I need to LCAs on my Odyssey. Seems to be a lot of concern in reviews out there about the Mevotech ball joint in these LCAs failing prematurely. Thanks for the information and input.

Awesome and clear video. Thank you very much. Wish there was one like this for the rear trailing arm replacement on the odyssey.

Torn bushings, worn out ball joint, clunking when going over bumps, etc

Yes
