      With a turbo, all you need is to make sure the air going in isn't too hot and the exhaust is free-flowing. Since it's trailered and not driven it doesn't need an exhaust so the limit becomes fuel, internal engine strength and the turbo size. You can make a ton of power with stock engine, if you pay attention to what I just said and find a tuner who doesn't have a history of blowing up engines. The place NOT to cut corners is to who tunes your car or you can learn yourself.

But when it comes to the Gen 2 intake manifold, it's a really really good intake for boost. When you port match the runners and remove the roof to access the plenum, it does wonders for boosted airflow into the heads. What I want to know is Leroy still using a IRS?

With those key components of today’s tech, any engine combo that makes this kind of horsepower and torque will run these kind of numbers. Atmospheric pressure @ sea level is 14.7 lbs per square inch. This has a direct effect on the engine because atmospheric pressure increases cubic inches every time it reaches another atmosphere. I ran my 1985 GPz 750 at 52 psi at the intake valve. Never ever take your boost pressure any place else because boost pressure matters most at the valve face NOT THE WASTE GATE. The intake charge going into the manifold does not flow straight down the pipe it swirls like a tornado. By straightening the intake charge coming off the turbo your boost pressure will start to compress on top of itself and you will find yourself needing stiffer valve springs. I had Vesra make me a set because back in the 80s no one had springs with the pressure I needed. I was making 400 hp touching the ground with an 810cc Kawasaki on C16 back in 85. In comparison to the LT1 in your car thats around 2500 hp. Its capable I just dont think you have figured it out yet.

      @B B They have discussed adding panels for aero. It's something he and his team seem to be set on doing at some point.

    • @ramlaen9473
      @ramlaen9473 4 года назад

      Aero isn't the issue, Leroy still makes more power than Grub Worm even accounting for what the extra drag saps on the back half. Once they get Leroy into power sooner his 1/8 mile will drop below 5 seconds, which will be a huge change to the 1/4 mile result.

    • @hillbillygarage1270
      @hillbillygarage1270 4 года назад +1

      @@ramlaen9473 I think boost by speed will make a big difference, but I think you're underestimating the effect of drag. Leroy's drag coefficient is absolutely horrendous lol.

    • @ramlaen9473
      @ramlaen9473 4 года назад

      The drag isn't a big issue in the 1/8 mile where other cars are going .3-.4 seconds faster, aero will improve Leroy's 1/4 mile time but not by half a second.

    • @hillbillygarage1270
      @hillbillygarage1270 4 года назад

      @@ramlaen9473 No one said it would make a half second difference, unless I'm missing something. But with faster times comes higher trap speeds. The higher the speed, the more that drag will be hurting the car's performance. So the original commenter isn't wrong in saying that it will keep Leroy from being competitive. It's possible.

Man this guy really know how tho do things the GM way meannig makeing more for less, more speed for less hp and torque more speed for less money more speed for a stick tranny wow and whars best more speed for less cube now what?? Im so fucking Shoked its just the most awesome build this guys really know what they are doing no wonder 196 top speed and so nicely in the 7s that build avoids wheelies because its using less low end torque and more rpm top end power nicelly done very very clever that beauty take of with no drama safelly nice and easy just like a awd do . Keep it up my friend and get that thing into the 6s NOW AND LIVE THAT LT1 IN THERE

    He said 1400whp which would make sense at the 183mph trap or so but it trapped 196+ MPH... That is 1750+ to the wheels. Anyway car is bad as fuck and shows that with dedication and some fine fine tuning you can make a turd fast. Crazy its running the stock engine block and stock intake. Good fuel, big turbo and some RPM = fastest stick car. Really enjoying the stick shift racing its totally different from the auto stuff.
