- MERCEDES BLIND SPOT INOPERATIVE PROBLEM/FIX w212 E350 2012,in my case was bad radar sensor, i have to replace it,...most of this problemes are from bad conection cable,or blow sensor...good luck ! like and share thx
Was driving today and randomly it the car would brake/tighten my seatbelt many times throughout the drive and in the dash it would say there is a car in my blindspot. Did not get blind spot inoperative in the dash, and the lane change beeping was working fine. Got home, rinsed the exterior of the vehicle, and was still getting the problem. Located the sensor on the right side of the rear bumper near the muffler, in my case it was the right side that was the bad sensor. It was extremely dirty. Got a wet paper towel and cleaned it and then got the hose and sprayed the sensor (did this knowing it COULD cause damage to the sensor, I pretty much thought that the sensor needed replacing anyway). Took it for a drive, and the issue resolved. I know this won't work for everyone, but my sensor was very dirty. I took a look at the left one, and it wasn't as dirty so I left it alone.
Would you happen to know how to access this these sensors on a 2012 GL450?
I have the same problem after scanning the car it was saying right sensor it's working, I switched right to left sensor and scanned the car again thinking it would be the left one but no still the right side was the problem

Mine on the ml350 w166 looked good no damage to it but wondering where is the cable going to from the sensors it coud be them and l wish l have a proper way to test them with multimeter or battery!
Question the sensor being bad did it cause any issues with gearbox shifting?

How does the sensor come out of the holder? It is blocked on the front and the back and then there is a strap across the top that doesn't move.
Yes,take the 2 strap and that's all,this how was for mercedes 2012

Yes, I just replace with used part, and is not working, is the same serial number. I will call thr dealer to ask about program, I will let you know,

@@nabileo2 Yes the are 2 of them, 1 each side , left and right, I spoke with one dealer today ,they said need to be calibrated after installation but not guaranteed will work because I installed use one...and will cost 190$ here in NAPERVILLE USA...I will try to check with another dealer ...this mechanic wasn't sure ,no clue...

Theres 2 sensors on both sides which one should i take out to try to clean and try it back
Yes,of course you have to check both sides, in my case was passenger side but could be driver side ,you have to check both, if they looking good check the cable,both sensor, if the cable is broken you have the same erro,message,

Give me the part number, located on your old sensor...try to search it on ebay,,,sensors are not the same..depends what year is the car and series....

Terrible. Unplugging a sensor and swapping it is the easy part of the job. Figuring the problem is the hard part.
