Thanks for checking it out! Most people don't like to catch them because they typically tangle your line and steal your hook and bait but I think they are an awesome fish!
My first eel I caught whilst night fishing was at the small bridge spot you frequent in the Mills a few months back, man do they fight and thrash around!
That's awesome! I have actually never night fished but I have heard they are we more active at night. What species do you typical night fish for? I personally love eels. When I was younger I wasn't a big fan of them but as I've gotten older and learned more about them they have become my favorite fish. I appreciate you checking out the video!
@@delconashvilleline I'm new to fishing and so was just going for anything that would bite but I had some good luck at that spot multiple times. This sport has quickly sucked me and my wallet in lol Always cool to see a local person making videos in spots I can actually get to close from my house, thanks for what you do and keep it up!
@@NextLevelCreations that is awesome! I really appreciate comments like yours and it is the best part of me having this channel. If you ever have any questions feel free to reach out to me on instagram I am pretty responsive to messages on there. I hope you keep enjoying it! And trust me fishing has burned a hole in all of our pockets lol.
That's awesome! Thanks for checking out the video. I hear Maine has great eeling as well. I actually have a Maine fishing license and have filmed a few videos up there. My Uncle and Aunt bought a camp in Lincoln.
That's awesome! Are you looking to catch them in freshwater or saltwater? If you are looking to catch them in freshwater the most important thing is to make sure there aren't any dams between where you are fishing and the ocean.
@@delconashvilleline I hope to catch them in fresh water. Any idea if eels are considered a sustainable fishery? I really love the Japanese grilled eel with sauce and I would love to try to make my own-- but I would be hesitant to do so if this is a species that's in trouble.
@@tookmyhandle2 that is a really good question. It is not technically considered endangered in the US but it's numbers have been declining since the installation of dams across the United States.
interesting vid - from PA. Whats strange is that I've fished the susquehanna and Delaware for bass for 45 years and never caught an eel. Surprised they won't hit slow moving senko worms. Unless I saw your vid, would have never known they were here
The rivers around here are really strange in that some have eels and some don't. It really comes down to whether or not they have Dams. I don't know about the Susquehanna but the delaware definitely has a healthy population. It's funny I've never seen them bite lures and I think the reason is because their eye sight is really poor my observations of them make me think they almost extensively fish by smell. I'm glad the videos have helped you learn about eels. I appreciate you checking it out!
Love your video. I am from Florida, and I really want to try eel fishing. But I don't know where to find them here. You said small creeks with rocks, but how far from the ocean
Thank you! That is a good question. Eels can migrate very far into freshwater rivers and creeks. The biggest thing you need to be aware of us you need to make sure there are no dams between the ocean and where you are fishing. The dams will prevent the eels from migrating.
I just found you're channel and subbed, cool fishin vids, I'm from WV, I think I caught some smallmouth in this creek at the mouth of Deleware River, is this Chester Creek ?
West Virginia! That's awesome! Thanks for checking out the video. This particular creek is not but it does feed into the delaware river. That's awesome that you were catching smallmouth out there. Smallmouth are one of my favorite fish!
Caught a few big ones near that wall by the meathole and by the wall down past the bridge when i was younger havent catfished the crick in a long times tho just fallfish panfish smallies but ive seen 30" stripper at sandbottoms this year i caught i little one by the kids tournament it really is just a healthy crick supposedly rocky run has trout reproduction little trib.
That is awesome! Catfishing in the creek can be a little tough. They are only in certain parts of it. That's insane that you were seeing that large of strippers that far upstream! Hopefully you can get on when of the big ones next year but that is great that you caught one this year!
@delconashvilleline yeah it was after a storm like late June heard biggest splash ever heard on the crick look to my left out reaction while doing that had my wooly bugger just drifting hooked into like 9 10" PB stripper lol like week later up sandy bottoms seen her swimming near that 22" brown they stocked for the tournament that brown looked small... if i ever see you down there have show u some pics

They are in the US today. They are a very popular sushi here. Europe has the European Eel which is similar to the American eel but has two additional vertebrae making it larger than the American Eel.
@@delconashvilleline nice! Thanks for the reply! Yeah, we’ve got some world-class saltwater fishing up here, I hope you got a chance to see the coast. I actually caught some American eel last season, with the help of your earlier videos. They tend to harass chicken legs, when there’s a bunch of people crabbing, and they can be pretty easy to catch around the docks because of that. This month I’m going for Conger eel, we’ve got them in the rocks off Narragansett. I’ve gotten small ones before, by accident, but now I’m targeting them on purpose. I’ve heard of people pulling them in over 5 feet long. The ones I have caught have been about 2 1/2 feet. Delicious.
@@WD-41469 noway! Narragansett is right by where we were. We stayed in New Port and then went down to Westerly for my friends wedding. I'm glad these videos have helped you! They are such a great species and by educating fishermen on the species my hopes are we can get people to care about them the way people care about bass and trout. Conger Eels... that is NEXT LEVEL lol. They can get pretty dang big. Good luck with them, I hope you get a monster!
