It got Nell back then showed her everything she was missing that would make her happy again. Then it kept her. FYI, Nell's doctor was in the original "Hill House" back in the 60's.
Nell's story was so incredibly tragic. The Bent Neck Lady is in my top 5 episodes that never fail to make me cry, and one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen. The only downside was I was so distraught that I sobbed through all of episode 6 and wasn't able to fully appreciate the incredible cinematography.

“Just keep your eyes closed” would make sense lol but I think it would be the same thing as having the feeling that something is behind you while washing your face or closing your eyes in the shower...you’re almost compelled to open your eyes to see what’s coming
I wish it was the simple, I get sleep paralysis a lot. Sometimes my eyes won't open, it feels like they're weighed down & in pain but I can sense something is there. Other times they snap open & no matter how much I will them to, they won't close & that's when sh*t hits the fan because I can 'see' what's coming for me. Hands down would rather my eyes stayed closed for the full sleep paralysis episode
Nell sacrificed her own mental health in order to end the impact it was having on Luke due to the ‘twin thing’. She realized her meds were the reason he could t get and stay clean. They were both using. Hers were just legal.
Nell had some sort of ability to see things in the future, I think, and was trying to warn herself with the bent-neck lady. (That's kind of a simplified statement, but...) She had some mental problems of course, but what she saw in the house was the house showing her everything she wanted and enticing her to "stay". It prayed on her weaknesses. This was the perfect family to prey on, and they got caught up in the perfect trap. Can't wait for the next episode. Y'all think it can't get better, but it does!!!
This episode absolutely blew me away. The twist that Nell was always the ghost haunting her(self...?) was a mind-blower. This episode is the one that absolutely made the show IMO.
This is how I see it: The Bend Neck Lady has nothing to do with the house. She was never a ghost either. Theo has the ability to see things by touching, as you have noticed. Nell also has an ability, she foresees death in the future. She sees her death and that of her brother (on the ceiling with needles in his arms). But she doesn't know anything about her abilities and thinks she sees a ghost. That's all. The house only brought these skills to light. There have been talented people in the family (grandmother) before. No other explanation is logical for me, since no ghost can be where there is no dead person. Nell was alive and so she can't see a ghost.

FYI, Nell's doctor was in the original "Hill House" back in the 60's.
Tom and Shaun: *Fake scream* LOLZ
Tom and Shaun, two seconds later: *scream for real* Shit myself
Nell's story was so incredibly tragic. The Bent Neck Lady is in my top 5 episodes that never fail to make me cry, and one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen. The only downside was I was so distraught that I sobbed through all of episode 6 and wasn't able to fully appreciate the incredible cinematography.
Episodes 5 and 6 are just incredible, can’t wait for your reaction to episode 6 😍
God, this is the episode of the show where I thought "Holy fuck. This is one of the most well-written shows I've ever seen."
i love this show so much because its not just your typical horror story, it has all the family drama and it focuses so much on the characters and their development, same with bly manor
One of the best episodes ever of any show I’ve seen . It’s has everything you want and more. I got goosebumps when you reacted to the reveal. So good
In case you didn't yet know young daddy Craven is played by the same actor who plays Elliot in ET.
The psychiatrist in this episode is played by Russ Tamblyn, one of the original actors in the 1963 film version of The Haunting which is based on the same novel used to make this mini series adaptation.
They probably haven't seen ET yet. :)
@@FennelRPG that too lol just put something relatively similar into perspective
I only open them for brief moments, to see if I'm actually succeeding in moving or just feel like I am.
It's the power of Christ that compels you!

Nell sacrificed her own mental health in order to end the impact it was having on Luke due to the ‘twin thing’. She realized her meds were the reason he could t get and stay clean. They were both using. Hers were just legal.
Can’t wait to see your reaction to episode 6. The single take shots are AMAZING!
"The House Wants Her There!" Best post so far and TY!!
This episode is superb. The next is absolutely astonishing...pay attention to the Camera work!!
And, here we are, one of the most disturbing moments in tv history
now THIS is how you make a twist, is just brilliant, sad as hell but brilliant
Please keep making more hills house episodes! It’s so much fun watching you guys react to this show! I want more! You guys are great!
This episode is great but the next episode, "Twin Storms" is my ABSOLUTE favorite. Maybe one of my favorite TV episodes ever.
This episode and the next are my favourite. They are both masterpieces.
Also if you get your neck broken and survive, you just become paralyzed and when ever Nell saw the Bent Neck Lady, she became paralyzed
This episode gets me every time, but I still am in awe at the cinematography and the performances of cast and crew alike for ep. six.
I got scared when Shaun jumped and I know when the jump scares are coming.... 😔
This episode absolutely blew me away. The twist that Nell was always the ghost haunting her(self...?) was a mind-blower. This episode is the one that absolutely made the show IMO.
No she wasn’t going insane for calling out her brother, in fact it really needed said to him!
This is how I see it:
The Bend Neck Lady has nothing to do with the house.
Unless of course if ghosts don't exists in linear time.
@@Henrik_Holst "The Haunting of Bly Manor" plays a lot more with this idea.
@@sidnew2739 Thanks for the tip, wasn't aware that they had made a new show.
@@Henrik_Holst Yeah, and it is quite different. Tragic Love is the red thread here, less shocks, more mindfuck and nice twists. Don't expect "Hill House" and you might like it. I do a lot.
I have experienced sleep paralysis maybe 5 times in my life, and I can attest that it can be a truly horrific experience. Your brain wakes up before your body does, and you're essentially paralyzed while being fully conscious. And that muffled screaming noise Nell made? Yeah, that's a real thing and there is nothing worse than hearing yourself try and scream but not fully managing it. 0/10, would not recommend.
This episode is the show at its peak
Is it bad to admit I'm enjoying seeing your mental breakdowns? I loved the series and it's a masterclass in of storytelling in the horror genre. I hope you watch Bly Manor next!
I'm really glad I've found your channel, you guys are awesome
Welcome to the mindfuck and most tragic thing in the show. Nell was being haunted by her own death ever since she stepped into the house!
I loved the shocked looks on your face near the end. This is such a great show.
This twist I think is on par with the 6th sense big reveal. Well done!
Our family has been enjoying your reactions to the series so much that we decided to watch the series again for a 3rd time. 😁
Thank you both for your great channel and great reactions! 👍🏼
This one and next one are my two favorite episodes! It's good to have a break between them 😅
20:37 wait for it... just wait!
The long shots in next week’s episodes are incredible! I can wait for you guys to see
The jump scare you are talking about was awesome. We watched that part a couple of times before continuing with the rest of that episode.
This is my favorite episode. She's such an incredible actress. She is one season two of "You" I watched it only for her ha.. she's so underrated. This whole season is directed by the same person who made Doctor Sleep the sequel to "The Shining". Beautiful cinematography and writing.
Not gonna lie, I *LOVED* your reaction to the twist ending of this episode. Looking forward to your reaction to six.
From the first vision of the bent-neck lady, I knew it was Nell, somehow. But the way that this episode gets us there and leaves us feeling *gutted* is masterful.
it's just gonna get better and better from here on out
this is one of the best episodes of any horror anything for me ever and your guys’ reaction to it was perfect 😂
The next episode is amazing direction and cinematography. The drama is intense.
I'm really looking forward to you guys watching the episode where Mr. Dudley tells Hugh about him and his wife's experiences with the house. Creepy as hell
I love how this episode blew your minds. It did it for all of us, haha.
One of the most chillin' episodes.
Things kinda slow down from here but it's definitely worth watching 'til the end. And yeah, that jump scare you've heard about is still coming. I have nightmares about it to this day! 😲
This show is absolute perfection!! So glad y'all watched it!!
Brilliant reaction. Ep 6 is my favorite!
I can’t wait for your reaction on the 1 shot scene in Nell’s wake.
best plot twist EVER
This is the most well executed bootstrap paradox that I ever saw in a work of fiction.
OMG, I refreshed and there you guys are!!
