The best 2 gay relationships I’ve seen were with an older man & a much younger guy. And in both cases, the younger guy was the more mature & introverted of the two, while the older guy was extremely extroverted, free-spirited, & open to new experiences. If this person was 19 I don’t see how he could not know that’s so raven since statistically millions exactly his age (19) probably watched it. It’s crazy the conversation you guys had about no expectations and you just enjoy being around each other is very similar to a friend i met at the beginning of the year. Depends for some and it also depends what the other is ultimately looking for imo. This happened to me back when I was 19 (23 now) I met a guy who was 28 and he was trying to date but at that point in time for myself I just wasn't interested in that and also felt I hadn't experienced much or have much to talk about with him so conversations I couldn't carry much. I really like that you’re sharing this experience with us. As a society, the first thing we do is to jump into conclusions without knowing all the facts. We have to remember certain things. As a 19 year old myself, I can testify that age does not equal to maturity nor experience. Being 20, now, I have had a lot of experiences getting to know older guys (late 20's and early 30's) and they have describe the same sort of situation that you did in this video. I feel like due to SOME places being more progressive, many younger gay/bi men are getting those experiences that in past generations weren't possible due to less acceptance. When I was 21 I didn’t want to date anyone younger than me. I thought older was more mature. But it really never worked out that way. Now I’m 26(almost 27) and I’m kind of thinking it doesn’t matter. NEVER let age be a difference or determining factor in your relationships, whether they be sexual or platonic. One of my best friends is straight and just turned 29. I'm in my mid-70s. We've known each other for about four years. As as gay man now most definitely in the elder category, I never wanted to limit my interactions with people of my own age. It’s crazy the conversation you guys had about no expectations and you just enjoy being around each other is very similar to a friend i met at the beginning of the year. Him and I just enjoy each other’s company but we’re just at the point in our lives that a relationship isn’t an option. I hope y’all continue this friendship because I’ll be 100% they are rare. Too many guys are looking for either sex a long term deal that to have a friend like that is something to cherish.

Depends for some and it also depends what the other is ultimately looking for imo. This happened to me back when I was 19 (23 now) I met a guy who was 28 and he was trying to date but at that point in time for myself I just wasn't interested in that and also felt I hadn't experienced much or have much to talk about with him so conversations I couldn't carry much. Honestly just comes down to how compatible you guys are imo

I really like that you’re sharing this experience with us. As a society, the first thing we do is to jump into conclusions without knowing all the facts. We have to remember certain things. As a 19 year old myself, I can testify that age does not equal to maturity nor experience. A 20 yr old can have experienced a lot more than a 30 yr old and can also be more mature than people who are older. It’s not okay to generalize and define a group of people as immature individuals who can not decide what they want and can not control their emotions because everyone is unique. I’m almost 19, and I’m always really worried about starting to date other men. Especially in the city I’m in, which is famous for its gay male community. I’m also trans, and we get excluded a lot. But I tend to be more attracted towards people older than me, since I kinda consider myself to be an old soul, and I like the idea of dating someone that I could learn from, and share our experiences with each other. I’m always just worried about being seen as this naive little kid who doesn’t know anything.

He's someone who grew up around social media and has had his life more documented online which also likely means he grew up exposed at an earlier age to more people of different backgrounds and experiences than anyone who was born a decade before him like Andrew. That explains the openness.

When I was 18, I dated a guy 12 yrs older than me. He was an amazing guy. But he had a kid. We went out on a couple of dates but him having a child really killed it for me. He wanted me to meet his son and I had to tell him this was not gonna work out.

Me just turning 20 I always put like 25 as my age limit on dating apps not bc I don’t think people aren’t attractive above that age but bc I thought they’d think- kinda what you felt in this video initially - that I’m immature or still a kid. I’m glad you experienced this and opened a convo about it because me being 18/19/20 dating someone over 25 it’s like I’m still in college figuring and figuring myself out while this other person is on a different path further ahead like they’re getting their careers established so I’ve always felt there’d be a disconnect between me and that person. But from your situation I see that there are people you really can just click with no matter the demographic they are.

Being 20, now, I have had a lot of experiences getting to know older guys (late 20's and early 30's) and they have describe the same sort of situation that you did in this video. I feel like due to SOME places being more progressive, many younger gay/bi men are getting those experiences that in past generations weren't possible due to less acceptance. It's a very interesting phenomenon that I've been experiencing since I was 16.

When I was 21 I didn’t want to date anyone younger than me. I thought older was more mature. But it really never worked out that way. Now I’m 26(almost 27) and I’m kind of thinking it doesn’t matter. But I was definitely that clingy annoying 21 year old that got too emotional. I can see that now lol.
