Jameson’s blatant ignorance never fails to be hilarious and I love how his relationship with Peter can be pretty heartwarming at times
Yeah even in some ways his advice for Peter to stand up for himself has well intentions
It’s a core part of his character I hope people never forget. The man is a grumpy old man with a hate boner for Spider-Man but he’s not a bad man. He has a type of personality where you have to learn to put up with him before you can like him. In every version of this character he would risk his own life to keep his employees safe and has personally stuck his neck out for Peter. I remember one continuity he gave Peter the job out of pity.
Reminds me of that scene where he wont reveal his source as Peter Parker to Green Goblin in the Raimi movies

@@fist-of-doom487I agree. To me, that nuance is what makes his character so compelling. It also adds more weight to his dynamic with Spider-Man.
Jameson may be a naysayer, but he does give Peter some of his wisdom.
I always love moments where he acts like a good guy. Like in spectacular or the rami movie. I think it makes him a deep character who genuinely loves new york
funny thing about that is in the comics, Jameson does become one of Peter's best partners after he learned about his identity. Despite his fall into just being a radio talk show guy, after learning his identity as Peter parker, Jameson works with Peter by providing him information on crimes going around the city.
Jameson is actually a decent boss. An absolute asshole yes but he has put his life on the line whenever his employees are in danger (especially for Peter). Plus it takes a special man to raise an astronaut.

In the comics when Peter was hired for the Bugle, Robbie (I think) questioned JJJ why he hired a 16 year old Peter despite having good photos of Spider-Man. JJJ replied "He just needs help" with him reading news of Uncle Ben's death.

I loved this flashback. I feel like it nailed the relationship between Spidey and JJ. He may be a perpetual pain in the arse for Spidey's public relations, but he was also Peter's boss for years, and genuinely looked out for the kid in his own, grumpy way. I like that even as a grown and matured Spider-Man, Peter still holds onto some of the wisdom that crass yet lovable old crow gave him.
I hope that in the Spiderman 3 game JJJ founds out Pete is Spiderman and they have the relationship they have in the comics

That's where my mind went. The thug even mentioned that Spider-Man was around by that time, and Pete was stumbling all over his words. Makes it more hilarious that JJJ, of all people, would be the one to inspire Spider-Man to start quipping. Especially since it comes back to bite Jonah in the ass.

@@dday906 it makes it plausible for jj to be his own motivation why he started with the quips he's always a loud mouth and can really intimidate people by that skill alone
There was an old theory I had where where Peter’s habit of quipping came from uncle ben who would randomly crack a joke during arguments with May to break tension and not scare Peter. But I love that in this version it comes from Jonah telling Peter to stand up for himself and act like how a real New Yorker would (a confident douchebag basically lol)
I honestly wouldn’t mind a prequel game of Peter’s early years as Spidey.

Jameson cares deeply for Peter, and in most comics when Peter tells him he's spiderman he jumps through fire to help peter.
If you think about it He's one of the few bosses Peter has that doesn't fire him for being late or skipping out and repeatedly keeps giving him chances

@@WaltersopFirstly doesn't look like Tom Holland at all. Second they probably cast Harry actor/face around the time when they changed Peter's bc in my opinion the old face looked to similar to Harry's and since Pete's face wasn't tied to anyone's face capture they changed it.
I've come around on the new face, though I do think the guy hasn't aged enough for the amount of stress he's dealing with but who knows his powers could have an overall healing ability that kinda slows the damage stress would cause.
I know that everyone loves the JJ scenes. But that's really deep about the whole "figure out what you want and if one route didn't work, figure out another"

I was thinking about that while playing they have the perfect opportunity for a sequel or dlc with young and more comic accurate Spiderman. I think this version of Spider-Man might be the best or one of the best

JJJ could've gotten a better photographer after the first cover photo of Spidey (judging by how he criticized Peter's photo), but he didn't. He said he didn't want his life story but that resonated in him a lot to help out Peter and I love that about him.
I like to believe he’s overly critical because when people get cocky, they get sloppy. He knows Peter is skilled but he can’t tell him, same way he wouldn’t tell Peter he genuinely cares for him

That part always gets me.
One detail no one pointed out is Jameson threatened peter that if he doesnt arrive before he finishes his coffee its over and emphasizes he's going to drink it fast as well as saying midway through that hes nearly done. BUT when peter arrives his coffee is still on the table, untouched. Jameson truly wanted to interview peter, but he wanted to test him to see how bad peter wants the job as well as seeing if he has the mental capacity to handle the job. Any normal person would have just given up but not Peter. Jameson truly liked him from the start. He even gives him the job after heavily criticizing his photo. Hes a tough boss but as a person he has a good heart

I wish we got a game about young Peter. We’ve never gotten a game about his entire origin story and I love humble beginnings. I want a game where we go to basics and have more personal threats instead of end of the world crisis. We only got small pieces in the past and Ultimate Spider-Man is the only game where you play as teenage Peter Parker.
Tbf teenage Peter has been done to death. They have Miles for the Teenager stuff now, letting Peter grow up is long overdue.
