My favorite games on the NES (beat them all as a kid), and the SNES version was not quite as fast, precise and the sound was so off for such a classic. 🤔🎼🎶 It's got a weird emphasis on tones & beats that didn't belong in the original, and aren't appealing. Some of the timing of the sounds are off with events, and the writing has typo's & mis-translations. 🤨

NintendoComplete you inspired me to beat this game again(OG,no savestates on original hardware) and now i just repeating stage 6 over and over and i just want u t know that your skill it's incredible,don't even know if u train or something for this awesome playthroughs but my thumbs already hurt,i'm cursing and having all the pain i miss from modern games...and i just love it🤣...i think i'll be able to make it for the third time in my life today but again your skill it's amazing,everyone should try it once because u make the game look easy and the real experience it's waaaaay different after long time whitout playing it...😤...back to the game😠😜... Edit: And after hours of pain...I'm still on it🤪,when people says this is hard is no joke,if u don't beat the boss on the first attempt that means at least the phases u beat still done,but also means no HP replenish when enter the boss room and the las part of 6-3 can be done no hit after learning the enemy patterns but good luck whit that,and right now i can beat 6-2 and 6-3 way more easily but that third phase whit like half health...these pure random evil patterns that make 3 damage are a pain...i manage to miss just one hit to beat the game starting the third phase full health,imagine my face when i get hit the last time on that attempt 😢...i don't even know if i should continue today o try tomorrow ,and that's why this is legendary game,5 hits of the "pink balls"(3 damage) plus the head or tail (1 damage) on the third phase,if u don't beated that thing whit full health the first time u are done or on a really bad situation to beat the game,it becomes even worst... i had a lot of fun playing it but it's been like hours 🤣....i gonna rest for a while and let the the NES on,if not today i'll try tomorrow anyway,and that's why Ninja gaiden it's so awesome....but hard AF 😍😢 2nd Edit: Beated 😁 !!!,after 2 days playing hours and hours today i start a fresh playthrough and finally beated the third phase on the first attempt whit my heart about to explode😂,this kind of feeling that u are shaking and having a intense end boss moment that modern games rarely have...I LOVE ninja gaiden❤
Played all 3 on the NES, owned the SNES version but hated it because you couldn't remap the buttons to better match the NES layout. You could only use B and A instead Y and B.
Oh that’s straight up game breaking if I was playing on original hardware, that’s a terrible way to play these games, imagine playing this on a 3 button Genesis controller, and imagine if this game was 320x224 instead of the shitty 256 mode, maybe this game would just play better on sega…… This is a game that could have done better on genesis hardware, that sound track would be a hell of a lot better
The music was pretty much hit or miss for me. I like that some of the themes felt more fleshed out, especially the final boss theme in NG3. I also appreciate the influence these remixes had on future indy remixes. That said, they royally screwed up Unbreakable Determination.
Soundtrack on stage 4-2 is one of my favorites of all time...and they ruined it here 😑,first time watching the snes version and thanks to that i will never gonna try it for how much it pisses me off,like a lot 🤬,i have to stop watching and complain about it instantly...repeat the stage 6 when i fail on the last bosses makes me less angry 😤...well...maybe not 😂,but close...back to the video 😅....
Oh no not this. I rented this with such high expectations...and it turned out to possibly be one of the lazinest, crappiest, remakes/remaster/port, whatever you wanna call it. And how the hell is the music worse?! Plus they screwed up the control schemes. All around an utter disappointment
It's definitely one of the most soulless, pathetic excuses for a port that I have ever seen. Not quite "Sonic Genesis" for GBA bad, but it's up there lol.
I want to like this port - I really do. But it's quite obvious that Tecmo did the absolute bare minimum with the conversion here. The graphics are only _slightly_ improved and still look 8-bit (unlike the PC Engine port), the music sounds awful (even my favorite track, "Unbreakable Determination," was done dirty here (19:13)) and "Ninja Gaiden 2 & 3" are littered with bugs. It's a crying shame that "Ninja Gaiden" still has yet to see a next-gen re-release and that *_this_* is the closest thing we have to that at the moment.
The dev or the player? I just revisited the US game and there's no layout, only through emulation can you do this. Shame the dev was lazy with this port to the SNES. @@Dorian_Scott
As far as the looks go, I can only detect slightly better colors, and there’s no flickering. But the SNES could have done this WAY better. The soundtrack is super lazy. It could have easily been incredible if they spent The time and got the right composer. As far as the visuals go this should have been handled in a similar fashion to mario all stars. Maybe Tecmo didn’t have the budget to do that

It doesn't live up to the original NES game, but it's still Ninja Gaiden and it's still pretty good. (Shame about the music, though!)

Yeah, the arranged music, as I look back, isn't so well-remixed, but there were a few remixes I liked.
@@MurseSamsoni personally liked the sharp , crunchy 8 bit sound over the remixed 16 bit. sometimes less is more

Look at the bizarrely compressed images of the original covers at 00:26. They didn't even bother to do the bare minimum in regards to presentation...
It's really not that bizarre. Most SNES graphics modes were limited to using 16-color palettes.

Tecmo Koei need to remake this trilogy with newest anime graphics, retain 2D gameplay, & using Famicom soundtrack (not this one) as reference.

One last thing: The translation credits says "Kevin & Dan". Who were they? I always assumed Dan was Daniel Owsen.

Worse was the lack of button remapping, B and A was a poor thumb position for SNES.
