    An amazing game gets a respectable port that, despite how well it plays, is still completely outclassed by its original NES counterpart.

      How do you like that compilation? I know that it goes for a TON of money on eBay.

      +David Halligan I think it's overall pretty good, but not at these prices. It was totally worth $60 though back in 95

      +David Halligan The only real complaint I have is the music. The games are still good

      +NintendoComplete Yeah, I emulated the first game in collection years ago, just to try it out. I definitely prefer the NES music.

      It could have been so much better, hell, a native Ninja Gaiden SNES title would have been amazing.

    It's not as good as the NES soundtrack but it's not that bad either, and seeing it was 3 games for the price of 1 I can accept it.

    This game was by far the best of the trilogy.

      Actually in terms of gameplay I'd say that Ninja Gaiden 3 was the best. Well, at least original japaneese version, which is way easier than US release. It finally fixes some annoying glitches like infinitely respawning enemies.

    • @Peter_1986
      @Peter_1986 2 года назад +2

      @@michal13121996ify "Ninja Gaiden 3" definitely has the best controls - that game is a pleasure in terms of raw gameplay, since it is very easy to move around and climb walls etc.

      Overall I agree, my only gripe was they got rid of the spin to win from the first game (Jump and Slash)….

    • @GarthTheDestroyer

      It was definitely the easiest thanks to those shadow clones.

  • @ryan489

    I'm not sure if you could even do this or not but I wonder if the music quality suffered if the team who did the port just decided to take the 8 bit soundtrack and feed it through the SNES sound processor then said yeah that's fine. The music wasn't written with a 16 bit console in mind and it shows.

    • @illegitimatefilm

      There was too much changed music wise for that to be the case.

    • @Entroper

      It would've been much better if that's what they did, but it obviously isn't. Even the opening cutscene has notes that are just incorrect.

    There's now a "High Def" patch for the NES Ninja Gaiden 2 (and 1). It combines the 16-bit graphics of the SNES port while maintaining the NES music, sfx and all the visual effects that were lost in the SNES version (such as the lack of lightning in stage 3-1 or glowing ice in 5-2):
    www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=26164.0
    You need a specific emulator to play it (Mesen), but its a pretty nice combination of the best of worlds. Here's a link:

    I don't have a problem with the music I think it's great for an arrangement. Although, I HATE that skeleton bone xylophone shit for stage 4-2. They could've done better. As for the ending theme for NG2 when Ryu regrets Irene dying, they should've used a violin.

    • @highstimulation2497
      @highstimulation2497 3 года назад +1

      I hate it too, but that's not EVEN a xylophone sound, even a shit-xylophone... it's an organ, played in really short bursts. so lame! the orig is king!

    Que paso en el Stage 3?
    que estaba demasiado Difícil en la versión nes, que decidieron quitarle ese efecto de DARK y ponerle password a los niveles??

    • @Darknyte00
      @Darknyte00 4 года назад

      Si era dificil, amigo.
      SI yo tenia una super habilidad (que ya no tengo ahora), me tomo varias semanas, claro, que despues lo pasaba riendome.
      Años despues, en la era del Nintendo 64, no me llamaba la atencion, tener el juego.
      Pero lo vi en una venta de garage (permanente) a un precio irresistible (equivalente a 3 peliculas VHS, de aquella epoca)
      Y si fue decepcionante, pero agradable a la vez.
      Por cierto que habia una version para PC (no sé que tan legal era), que estaba MUCHO MAS FACIL, ademas de que la ultima transformacion del jefe final, tambien era mas facil, PERO el final estaba incompleto

    I think I owned this game, for some reason I didn't like it compared to the NES versions. Played all 3 of the NES ones and owned #3. The SNES controls felt off I think, maybe be it was the button layout that didn't translate well. It used A and B but it was naturally better to use Y and B on the SNES controller so your tip of the thumb triggers Y, attack, while the middle joint triggers B, jump. With the B A layout, use have to move your thumb back and forth.

    • @themadatheist1976

      Also the SNES one glitched a lot, you can see it with the 2 phantom clones.

    This game was the easiest of the original trilogy but lots of fun never the less. I don't mind the remixed music really. I'd say kinda like Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma, it's just nice to own both versions although the snes trilogy doesn't really change anything level or gameplay wise.

    Todavía no entiendo como Nintendo, teniendo una consola que le doblaba el poder a la NES, pudo hacer este port tan horrible de Ninja Gaiden | Ninja Ryukenden 2.
    Pudieron aprovechar toda la potencia del SNES para al menos hacer algo memorable pero, decidieron hacer está pésima copia de NES.

    One of the worst games ever ! While story may be somewhat ok the actual gameplay is lame and clunky. Sword even though it doesn't feel like one is more like a pixel which should coincide with enemy's pixel then it register kill. Otherwise just pay enough attention and you'll see that more often than not your so called sword crosses enemy's sprites still it doesn't register. Hit boxes are completely random and off. Also a very bad mechanic is when you get hit your weapon just gets disabled like wtf. I can go on forever about really horrid level disign and so on like when you get involontary stuck on the walls and such. To my mind it's a pity that back in the day there were no decent quality control otherwise this abomination would've never passed in it's actual state. Also I associate Ninja with speed and ultimate control. This pile of steamin' substance is nowhere near those things.
