The Rotary watches with ETA movements say "Swiss Made" at the bottom. This one does not, leading me to conclude that it uses a Chinese movement. That in and of itself is not damning since some Chinese movements are quite adequate (Sea Gull). But unless we know who made the movement and what grade it is in that manufacturer's tiering structure, we have no way to really evaluate it.
I got this watch and my problem with it is that if i sit down and write for a minute, the watch will stop. This is annoying as if i sit down and write for an hour, the watch will have the wrong time. Is there any way to counter this or do i just have to move my hand every 5 seconds?
@@TANKCRAZY1 if someone doesnt know how to use a manual watch they shouldnt own one, they require loving care to make them last a lifetime, mine is 10 years old and has had 2 strap changes from wear
I bought a €500 Seiko Sportura watch from this company 13 months ago. The stainless steel stud has fallen off the casing, the white mother of pearl inset fell off the bezel, the strap completley disintegrated and Watchshop tell me that it's "excessive wear and tear". How can you excessively wear a watch in 13 months?? Consider this carefully if you are buying an expensive watch - if it goes wrong they won't fix it - buy it from a local jeweller - trust me it's worth the extra few quid!!!
your comment sells idiocy, i thought twice about replying but your brain is broken and so is your parents for even having you, i owned this watch for 10 years and am still wearing it
My dad gave me he's yesterday, its broken thou lol. Some piece broke inside of it and its moving out of place when ever I turn the watch. However, when I hold down the crown, the watch springs back to life and the dials begin to turn again. Once i take my fingers off the crown, the watch stops working...
+Adri Adri most things are made in Asia, your life is full of these products made by Asian stuff, look at your shoes, cloth, anything. If anything is made by expensive human resource, maybe you could not afford it.

I bought some doctor martin shoes made in England, one of them was broken at the bottom after two weeks, many problems also happened in this country, I mean every place has such a quality control issue, but you can't think all the asian are the same, because you said Asia, not some of them. On the other hand, why iPhone and so many fantastic devices made in China with satisfied quality? That is because the final test of the industry is very strict, so the main problem I think you should ask Rotary itself.
I got a similar model, but it looks like a later one. The minute markings are lines rather than dots and the roman numerals are taller and more elegant looking. The numbers are also higher up to the watch edge, wasting less space. It keeps time remarkably well for an inexpensive automatic and I have to say, this version (later revision maybe?) seems pretty robust.
the movement costs 70 pounds from the factory, not a cheap movement, its from a swiss owned chinese factory which has superb levels of quality control, any problems with it are clearly due to user error, im both a proud owner of this watch and a horologist, so i guess that means im able to own this watch and not be a stupid prick and break it
@whiplash303 no they're not. They just move slowly, some will do one rotation per hour.
No it doesn't. It doesn't need battery at all! :D It goes on forever. I have it, and you should definitely buy it. :)
with maintenance and occasional winding mine has lasted 10 years
Most watches do the forth roman numeral differently in order to keep the watch face looking balanced
yeah i think its called radial symmetry
this watch looks better in the flesh

they are made in a swiss owned factory in china, and aactually import swiss steel for making movements
can we pay as installments to buy this watch from your website as well? GS90506/06
عندي مشكله بنفس هذه الساعه البطارية لاتعمل وانا في دولة قطر هل يوجد فرع لدى شركة روتري لكي اصلح العطال
I have a similar Rotary watch on which I am unable to set the time. I tried unscrewing the crown first, but didn't work. Any suggestions?
pull up the crown, most rotary watchs are bog standard pull up crown to set time systems

Does anyone know how to remove the back?
Contact seiko about it. I thought their watches came with a two year guarantee?
Looks like the movement from a Kenneth Cole Chinese auto movement
actually kenneth cole uses a 6497, this is a proprietary movemet from rotary

"Charges the watch"? The automatic system 'winds' the watch dopey! :)
Your store sells broken items. I bought two pairs, one was broken already and other one got broken like 5 months after.

clearly broken by you, ive owned mine for 10 years without issue and still runs like a dream
with this economy it will be no surprise to me when rolex made his watches in china in the years to come so get a rotary now
u should wear the clocks in your hand while showing them in videos.
I want to know how to repair a rotary hour in the State of Qatar and whether there is a number to communicate with the State of Qatar
i have it. i love it.
Hi, is this watch made in china?
stop moving the goddamn watch!!!
i have this watch
@Jam9ten its 24-48 hours
@Onidax The Swiss make the watch
this watch, sadlyno longer mean rotary. its made it all pices in asia with cheap stuff.

yeah, you are right
Adrian Covaci it's actually minimum 60% swiss parts and assembled and quality checked in Switzerland.
what if you leave the watch on the floor overnight will it run out of power?
No. It'll last for a day without winding or movement. Two days though, it won't.
@@UKFX it has a 41 hour reserve meaning almost 2 days
got this for £75 on prime day :D guess it was worth it

My model is the: GS00308/21
in your website it says its mechanical
it is, any watch without a battery is mechanical
look on ebay, just bought a brand new one with blue hands, £64!
guess what, you bought a clone, i used to repair watches and the amount of fake rotary watches was insane, i had at least 2 or 3 a day in my shop
if only the price were £100 then i could buy it
But hey at least the leather strap is genuine...I think
so is the following statement, "this idiot is not a horologist"
good watch
i got the same one but my one is in gold ..
Doss it still work
@@michaelaguilar4578 mine does after 10 years of non stop use, i do clean and maintain it once a month

thats why they call it a watch lol
This watch is worth less that £100.

The watch is cheap and fake look at the forth Roman numeral
wow
The watch is not fake. Rotary (a reasonably decent entry level watch manufacaturer) have designed the GS02940/06 as it is. 'IIII' rather than 'IV'.
It's called radial symmetry you noob and it looks vastly better than IV.
Lavon Cook ive never seen a watch with "iv" in my life lmao.
> look at the forth Roman numeral
Oh dear. You made yourself look like a bit of an idiot there didn't you.
