@@knowsomething9384 I’m sensing hostility rn and I’m genuinely trying to understand how it was clickbait. The John Collins trade was something I covered in the past and really loved at first. Now that it’s not going so well I made an update video. That title was actually selected from an nba or espn list that was detailing some of the most net negative trades made from the past off-season up to date.
Like if I said “THIS John Collins Trade Was Pointless” I could see how it insinuates that they just traded him away, but even on the thumbnail he’s literally wearing a jazz jersey.

@@justtimes9257 lol no it’s just a running joke that comes up when I do live streams. It originally started with Jordan Clarkson back when he was starting because every time I would criticize him he would go from having three bad games to having an explosive game the next one. when it comes to John Collins, I generally saw him any more positive light than most people, but had to honestly assess the trade value and the situation at the time. That said, I love the move to put them at center because while he doesn’t provide the best rent protection, his three point shot making stresses out opposing defenses in a way that I haven’t seen in sometime. I just cant unsee what I saw when we played the Magic and Paolo was just BODYING him every time and Collins was TRYING too.....immedIately I was like "ohhhh nooooo this is why the Hawks gave up, isn't it?".......DAMNIT!😂. Its sorta like Sexton and his court vision where once you see it youre just like "oh crap this is what the scouts see, isnt it? Oh boy."
Hes one of those guys thats only a switchable defender in theory......oh sure he can switch its just that he cant stop whoever he switches to no matter what😂
But yea I get it now. If all we want is defense and corner 3s yea we would be better off just letting Hendricks play.
Or we gotta figure out how to actually use Collins as a rim runner but that requires fixing our guard problem......

Good job i appreciate you. They have been playing him at C. The Jazz have a veteran lineup and should keep it thst way until they get all their peices. I think George, Hendricks, Kessler and OA are great for the future but should find that all star talent in two more young guys that are a SG and SF. I would keep George, Hendricks and Kessler on the bench to develop this year. Trade Sexton or Horton-Tucker and a 2nd for Markelle Fultz. Start PG. Fultz SG. Clarkson SF. Lauri PF. Collins C. Kelly O. Try to compete while building. I think they need two young prospects that will be great in a SG and SF. Trade Brice and Luka with future 2nds for something. Waive all their two way guys. Jaylen Martin is 19 SF or SG and is a free agent, they should look at him. Zhaire Williams, Jordan Hawkins, Bates or AJ Griffin for Luka and Brice with picks. Or trade Collins, Lauri, Clarkson and Sexton. You can trade them for Ben Simmons, O'Neil and Cam Thomas with picks. Let Simmons sit, one bad contract. Start a rebuild

My problem with Collins is his defence, he is really bad even if he try play defence. Sometimes he dont seems even give much effort either. Jazz have another bad defender, Keyonte. They cant play both same time, better not either if they want to get stops. Keyonte is rookie and i kinda understand hes horrible defence, but he should to start show some improvement. However, Collins is veteran and he have no excuse be that bad defender.
I have to disagree one thing, jazz dont need cap space for resign Lauri. Ainge think jazz have to pay too much for next contract for Lauri because he is too good, so Ainge rather try trade him instead. In that case, Collins is good to have because jazz need use 90% cap if i remeber right. I must say that there is too many rules with salary cap. Should be more simple system imo. Its very hard make tardes now because matching salaries and other rules.

I agree defensively with her issues. I think the biggest thing for the Room situation is adding further value while still using 90% of the available Space so that you don’t lose it. It’s slightly confusing and honestly while I understand why certain things were added in the most recent CBA deal I don’t love it when it gets put into practice
