I love that Ellie was immediately mad at having been bit. She wasn't panicked, she wasn't sad, she was furious.
Having finally shown her true feelings for Riley and having them reciprocated, Ellie had just got the one thing she wanted most, only to immediately have it taken away from her... and she was pissed! Riley, on the other hand, seemed to feel more of a mix of sadness and guilt, but I loved that she was determined that they should make the most of whatever quality time they had left with each other.
That little clasp of the hand between Ellie and Joel was everything.
(very common knowledge)in many life scenarios ~ of course ~ the sadness is just behind (intensified) anger *. . .* which is a thought provoking moment to repeatedly witness in someone (there are those who freely choose to withhold the hug *-* until the sadness is dealt with) ~ TLOU is obviously entirely separate. .

Interesting fact: In Mortal Kombat II, Baraka and Mileena are lovers that both Ellie and Riley chose to fight as at the arcade. Whether the creators knew it or not, their gameplay did showcase a grim foreshadowing.
I'm sure the showrunner Neil Druckmann knew this as he's a big geeky fan of the MKII game
Bill gets shot in the gut, he orders Frank to forget about him and get Joel for protection. Joel gets stabbed in the gut, he orders Ellie to forget about him and get Tommy to protect her. Parallels, baby!
Oh yeah, every duo is a reflection of Joel and Ellie in some way: Bill & Frank, Sam & Henry, Marlon and Florence (the Native American couple), hell, even Kathleen & Perry (in a spoilery AF kind of way)...
The carousel ride where Eli was staring at Riley was a powerful moment, made so much more profound with the addition of the 'The Cure - Just Like Heaven' playing on the music box slowed down etc
The set design in this episode is top notch
The song "Take on Me" popping up throughout Ellie and Riley's time together got me in the feels. Made me think of that ONE scene in TLOU 2. No spoilers but if ya know.......ya know. 😉

Fun fact, the devs of the game have connections to the band so that's why they allowed it.
I cried even harder at this episode than when I first played the actual DLC! I went in knowing they would have to cut and/or alter some things to fit a tv format but once again (just like for every single episode of this show so far) they somehow made it even better than in the game, AND THE GAME IS ALREADY A MASTERPIECE!!!
Storm Reid played Riley *PERFECTLY* and Bella Ramsey is going to get a goddamn Emmy for this show🤞🤞. And when the theme for Left Behind kicked into full gear at the end of the episode when she was stitching Joel up I was broken.😭😭😭😭😭😭
Such an amazing episode. Love every bit of it! It made me think and talk about what we take for granted. My mom and I talked about, the video stores, the magazines of games that I still have. The joy on Ellie her face as she sees the wonders of the mall. Absoluty amazing, the connection between Riley and Ellie, and Ellie and Joel.
Listening to the podcast after watching the episode made me smile. This show is amazing. I love it so much❤️
I’ve never played the DLC, so this is the first time where I had no idea exactly what was going to happen and it was amazing! I’ve seen some clips from it but it’s great to finally get the full story. Another great but tragic dang episode! The final two are going to be epic!

6:00 that song you love plays a HUGE role in TLOU part 2 in the game’s best secret. If you haven’t got there yet all I can say is explore every inch of every area in that game so you don’t miss it.
Eli must of felt so sad when she realized she was immune and Riley wasn’t, good thing Eli didn’t go for option 1.
Will that be explained later in the show? Like how does ellie get out of that when she fully believes shes going to die? I dont mind spoilers if you know the answer

On the surface it looks like Bella is remembering Riley and deciding she is now going to try and save Joel, but I feel like that's not really the point. She mentioned several times in episode 6 that she can't do it alone, if Joel dies she's screwed, etc. So it's reasonable to assume she was always going to stay with him, except he tells her to leave and only then does she prepare to leave. I don't think the flashback is to show that she's going to stick around in contrast to Riley because she did stick around with Riley. I think the point is that Joel tells her to go and she refuses. She stops listening to him choosing for her and makes up her own mind. The memory of Riley is to remind her that even if she can't save him, she will stay with him until the end. "Whether it's two minutes or two days, we don't give that up."
Riley wanted to show Ellie a magnificent night, wanted Ellie to ask her to stay. Ellie did, and with every conscious thought after they were bitten, Riley was probably thinking "I've destroyed the one person I love"
Going back to last episode, Ellie to Joel when he was having Tommy take her on her journey, "Everyone I've ever cared about has died or left me. Everybody except F-ing for you!"
Now, it's on Ellie to keep Joel from dying.
Top episode... probs my fav one... the music score again was mint and nostalgia..but the way ellie and Reilly acted here was just amazing...
This episode affected more than any other episode other than the first 15 mins of episode one.
The creators also say in the podcast they wanted riley to be at a higher level because ellie looks up to riley, just like joel.
That Arcade part of the episode brought me back to the early stages of the Stranger Things story. This is awesome!

If there was any doubt about Bella Ramsay's acting, this episode should quell those concerns. From the start of the episode to her reaction to getting bit, she went through a whole range of emotions.

Between the heartwarming cute moments showcasing Ellie and Riley finally being able to act like kids again for once, if only for a little while...... only to rip it all away again for the seventh time in a row (damn you, show), this never ending River of tragedy that follows Ellie is emblematic of not just the shows central theme but why Ellie continues to fight, to carry on.
It showcases her and Riley on opposite sides of an ideological, real and tribalistic conflict before they lay down their arms and come together to just be close for a little while because they're each others purpose in this moment; a fascinating parallel to the Bill and Frank love story and why it matters greatly when Ellie continues to lose and lose. And now that she does have someone who looks after her again, who she can depend on, who matters to them, she’ll be damned if she loses them again.
For Riley’s sake and everyone else who died, Ellie will finish this journey……even if it kills her.
Did anyone notice a musical rendition of Just Like Heaven by the Cure playing in the background during one of the scenes? Not sure if that song was ever in the game.

Hey Mary, I don't know if you know this but a long time ago before the MCU, Marvel made a deal with a company called Lionsgate, the deal was Lionsgate would make animated movies for Marvel such as Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2, The Invincible Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Hulk vs wolverine/thor, and Planet Hulk. Riley chose Mileena in Mortal Kombat 2 and Ellie played Baraka.
Both were Lovers in the game.
Baraka skewered Mileena as finisher. That was the metaphorical endgame. That's how Ellie killed Runner-Riley. I think she stabbed her.
That's why she asked Joel in episode 2 what it was like for him to kill an infected, knowing that they once were human. I think she needed a comparison to her own feelings because she couldn't classify them. That's why she tortured and stabbed the stalker in episode 3. She first wanted to see if he felt something and then the anger broke through in her because an infected bit her girlfriend and killed him.
Previous episode, Ellie wanted a sip of liquor from Joel and said "still gross". This was her first time.
I actually thought Ashley Johnson (game Ellie) would have her cameo here. Obviously, this was not the case, but it comes later in another memory.

So there was an editing mistake while they were playing MK2, when we heard the 3 note sting for Mileena to do a fatality, the stage music started playing again briefly. This would never happen in the game
Interesting that all the ways Cpt. Kwong listed that Ellie could die by the "grunt" option did not include getting bit by Infected. Makes me think of an NPC convo in the game where a woman is complaining about getting assigned a job outside the QZ and her associate saying that only soldiers should be going outside. Has FEDRA begun using civilians as fodder for the Infected, so they don't lose soldiers? If so, they're as messed up as Riley claims they are...

Another great episode, they did a good job of exploring Ellie's crush on Riley. Bella again did a sterling job at acting but I wasn't so enamoured with Storm's portrayal of Riley.
My friend said the same thing about Storm but I actually preferred show Riley to game Riley. I don’t know if it was Riley’s voice actress or something else but for some reason I didn’t care about Riley in the game as much as I was supposed to
Some will hate and not know the details but i think they really did a great job at capturing the games essence. So far, no complaints. Makes me cry nice tears and i can see the changes but it fits. Trying to do all parts of the game would ruin how the story would go. Some changes feel right since if it was pike like the game, it would have too much going on and they have to cut for time. I would have liked to see more but overall, it is a great show 👌

I'm a little disappointed of this one, because of the removal of the arcade scene from the game, one of the most iconic and meaningful scenes that showed Ellie's vivid imagination, which is very much a precursor to another very iconic scene in Part 2. With all the Left Behind references in the previous episodes I also kinda expected to see Ellie having to shoot Riley, but instead they just ended it pretty much like the DLC did, leaving the rest up to imagination.

Could "The Last Of Us" actually mean there are no more strait couples or romance in this world? Bc if you think about it, Druckmann only focuses on gay romance. Not saying that in a homophobic way, I loved ep 3. But when you think about it. Ellie and this girl, Ellie and Dina, Bill and Frank, Abby from 2nd game. Outside of the small mention of Tommy and his old lady. Really no strait romance story telling in this world. Kind of Sus if you ask me.

THE WEAKEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON. RILEY WAS NOT VERY LIKEABLE AS A CHARACTER. I WANTED HER TO DIE THE 1ST 5 MINUTES OF SEEING HER. I WOULD HAVE RATHER HAVE ALL OF THE EPISODE WITH JOEL AND ELLIE AT THE HOUSE THEY ARE IN. 2/10.
