Tiana, you are brilliant! Thank you so much for this! My daughter is also headed to The Annex in September. Loved the spreadsheet on your other post. Sooo helpful!
pls do a video on what u recommend we bring if we move in to the annex! also how many bedrooms were in the units ur friends were living in? Love the vid btw :)
Hello Tiana, absolutely love this video! Btw, does Annex have any move in regulations? Like I should inform someone ahead of time to reserve the elevator while moving in?
Very informative video! My daughter is moving in there for the coming year. What’s the deal with the gym discount? How do you get that? Do you just use your uOttawa ID when you sign up or something? Thanks again!
hey , im going to be moving into annex this upcoming fall in room a on one of the lower floors . which room shown in the video do you think mine would look closest to ? if you cant answer this question then no worries !
Hey! Sorry for the late reply, I hope you found out more about it. I remember which floors the rooms I showed were on but there’s usually a floor plan on the uottawa website when you select your room.
this is so informative! thank you so much for making this video. i got an offer for a B room and i was wondering if it bigger or smaller than the C room you were in? does the sizing apply on all rooms? thank you in advance.
Im happy you found it helpful! The sizing of the rooms really depends on the layout of the unit itself and on which side of the building it is, so i can’t really say
@@TianaFitacc yeah it’s too early to tell the layout. one more question, were you able to rearrange the furniture? are the wardrobe and desk attached to the wall or can they be moved?
I think they open in March and end June if you’re going into first year. if you do it after June it wouldn’t be guaranteed but you’d still be able to apply. I would apply as soon as it opens that way you get to pick because the rooms in the better residences go fast
Tiana, your room is beautiful and you stated that they are not all the same. You are in room C. My daughter is in room A. Do you know the layouts for a room A, B, C, D etc? I know this is a big ask so if it is not possible and is not a constant, that is okay. BTW, we found out about the Free Store! Thank you for that!
No worries! Sorry about the late response. You’ve probably already found the layout of the room 😅 Just some extra info: there’s a student clinic on the second floor of the minto sports complex, it’s open and free for students
Thanks for the video ! Pliz just wanna know how much a student of Uottawa can spend per month in Ottawa without extras and just focusing on the necessary.? Thanks
Honestly it’s going to depend on a lot of factors. but if you don’t include rent, you could spend anything between $200-$500 for a phone plan, groceries and transit. I’m working on making a video regarding this to give people a more accurate idea
Its easy if you’re a social person or if you’re on campus a lot (or living in res). I wouldn’t say it’s hard to make friends but it also can take a while to establish solid friendships. One thing that’ll help is if you’re willing to be outgoing and saying hi first

It really is, I hope the video made it somewhat easier 😊

The desk and wardrobe are attached to the wall so I could only move the bed around

is a regular apartment cheaper than a school residence
love the video
Thank you ❤️ Yes they usually are! The ones around Sandy hill I would say go from $600-$1000 depending on what’s included in the apartment.
Can you sublet your room from May to August, when away from school?
Yes you can!
Is there vacuum or broom in the residence that you can borrow or do you have to buy your own?
You buy your own. I just borrowed my roommates since they all had one
Great video. Many thanks
Would you agree that we go for residences according to our courses?
not really, only residence that is like that is Henderson
Thanks for the video !

Is it easy to make friends there I’m contemplating going back to school again don’t know where to go

I am coming this fall, how can you assist me to get a room?
I can’t unfortunately. You have to apply on the uottawa website
Hey Tiana, do you have all the prices of the rooms *incluiding the meal*? Im looking for universities because I'm graduate of spring 2024 T-T
Heyy, no I don’t. But the uottawa website has all the prices
How to you receive mails in annex residence? Is providing your unit number enough?
You would put in the building’s address in addition to your unit number and then pick it up from the mail room
Hi, is there a parking near Annex residence?
Yes! There’s underground paid parking
did you get a scholarship?
How much it cost please?
I’m not sure, the prices change sometimes but everything is on the university website
Pls what university is this in ottawa,?
University of Ottawa
Heey can we pay per month??
If it’s a sublet then yes, if not then it’s paid per semester. So it’ll be 2 equal payments, one in the fall and one in winter
Do you speak Portuguese?
Yes I do :)
