I got accepted to uOttawa about a month ago and tomorrow it’s time to apply for residences and I really hope to get into 90U. This was so helpful and I can’t wait to go there!
Food as a whole is a solid 8/10 and I personally enjoyed it! As someone who is vegetarian, the menu has always been very accommodating. I feel like people sometimes complain because the menu does repeat itself, but there is consistently a wide selection. The Starbucks coffee is also a huge plus
I believe the low-rise floors (1-6) are carpet whereas the high-rise floors (7-20) are tile. I’m pretty certain this is the setup, however I haven’t been on every floor
I would recommend being on campus about 30 minutes before your move in time slot to orient yourself. The 90U parking lot gets converted into a moving day drive through where you'll get your student card/key and a basic rundown of your move in process. They also provide "wheely" carts to load your belongings onto.
Living in a residence with a kitchen, do you recommend getting a meal plan? Or a pay as you go? As well as, are you able to go into the dining hall with friends but not eat? Thank you for your video, it was so helpful!
If you live in 90U, your meal plan is mandatory. However, there are other residences that don't have a mandatory meal plan! If you opt out of the meal plan, yes you can pay as you go. Unfortunately, whether you're eating or not, they will make you pay to enter.
